  • Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "Let China sleep, for when she awakes she shall astonish the world"

  • Congratz to our chinese friends

  • I think NASA's SLS is probably an even safer bet since it's actually supported by congress and has a proper budget.

  • Whats funny is that china has just figured out now what america has done science the 50's

  • @jack195935 it not has funny as how US can't do what it could do in the 50's... put a man in space! at this rate we will never reach mars... lol.

  • usa i better in space then other countrys

  • The Chinese aren't stupid at all. It is easy to be an "armchair" space agency head, but it takes a whole lot more to actually put one of these rockets together and to accomplish an in-orbit rendezvous and docking. Russia didn't accomplish this until 1969, just a couple of months before the flight of Apollo 11.

As for building a joint rocket together, just imagine the costs of SLS multiplied by 10 or 100. Any such international endeavor would bankrupt the world economy as a whole.

  • Why the Chinese are so STUPID? And wasting a lot of money! “ NO BRAIN ” whatsoever! Chinese copy monkey! Those are things other county did and it’s nothing special. If I were a head of Chinese space program agency, I wont do that, instead I come to USA, Russia , ESA, INDIA or Japan to discuss to build together more reliable and less cost 2nd generation space shuttles or new spaceship for the mars.

    Dumb Chinese monkey!

  • @homekatsushi

    Jealous.........racist monkey, that's what u are.

  • I feel it's always good news a Country succeed their space mission. It make easier to continue funding further space mission for their agency. Also, it could have an impact in long term of funding some project for NASA. Competition and Cooperation are two keys things for the biggest projects in the world to succeed.

  • @fcycles Double edged sword. We had a ton of competition with the Soviet Union during the cold war. That got us to the moon, which is awesome. But it also made it difficult to sustain and we have never been back, which is not awesome. I would prefer slower progress that is sustainable rather than flags and footprints, personally.

  • @spacevidcast Me too I would prefer that. I understand going to the Mars (and even going back to the Moon) will put people attention to space in the news and give pride. For a slower but sustainable progress, I believe most of the work to progress are taking place here on Earth. By the research and experiment to solve problems we face to achieve these goals. Unfortunately, it's a bit hard for the public to know about these details.

  • @spacevidcast progress is always exponential. we need social revoliution before we advance in space exploration. from a star trek nerd :)

  • @fcycles Yes, but what happens when China does something so huge that even NASA wouldn't get funding to compete with it? Not so nice anymore =[

  • Europe is A Country?

A country that masters the docking techs?

  • @ohmyholymothergod, Yes, for the purposes of spaceflight, the European Union can be considered a country. Well... mostly. The ESA is made up of several EU members (and non-members), but is roughly analogous to the EU counterpart to NASA. And the ESA has made a successful in orbit rendezvous & docking with the ISS. That certainly is a significant accomplishment that is IMHO almost as difficult if not more so on a technical level than even getting into space in the first place.

  • @GlanderBrondurg

lol, greece state, germany state, france state, italy state, ..., of european union, a so called country that mastered docking technology...

...dock with socalled "international" space station whose member(us) boycotts other country(china) to join in.

the meaning of this video is totally different from esa's atv docking.

  • random question, but what is something i can tell all the moon hoax believers to change their minds with all their b.s radiation reasons?

  • @fifaplayer10 There is a good writeup on that here: wwheaton com /waw/mad/mad19.html

  • @fifaplayer10 You can't change their minds. To believe the Moon hoax is a sign of irrational thought and conspiracy theories that simply don't exist. Every rational explanation can always be explained away by another conspiracy theory because they already have a closed mind.

  • Those are probably some of the coolest rocket launches I have seen. I love how underpowered they look as they SLOWLY lift off the pad!

  • @oisiaa In all fairness, a Saturn V takes a loooooong time to clear the tower too. I suppose the Saturn V had a tad more weight though.

  • @spacevidcast And it was like 3 or 4 tiems as tall as the long march rocket:P

  • Yep, November shall hence forth be known as Dovember ;)

Glad you are back guys. Still got my sub going for Epicness :D

  • China's first Mars probe, Yinghuo-1, was recently launched as well.

Thanks for the SpacePods. They're very well done.

  • These new SpacePods are pretty good.

  • thx for the great information!
