Carroll is making a mistake with this skater. His "stern father/conditional love" approach to her sensitivity will wear her down in the end. It's a shame he doesn't know any other way to relate to his talented female skaters, but he doesn't.

Frank could take a lesson from Brian Orser even though Brian is a relative novice coach. Brian is supportive and kind no matter what.

Mirai has got to stop beating herself up when she screws up. She had a bad performance at the Worlds today and she looked beaten down. I hoped she had conquered her demons when leading at Nationals when she was brillant in her LP but she's back to the insecure Mirai that lets nerves take her over.

she is awsome im routing for her in the 2010 olys! but they save the figure sating for last..... so i guess we will just have to wait and see how good she does and hope for the best! mirai is a very excwiste skater and is very consisting of her jumps and spins! i wish her luck at the 2010 olys! and hopefully will meet u there in 2014!

Thanks so much for sharing. It was so happy to see her at the first place in SP (if i rmb correctly) and it was a bit disappointed to see her not feeling gd about her performance in the LP. I wish she can cheer up soon coz we all know YOU CAN DO VERY WELL MIRAI! =))) We know how depressing u're feeling for not meeting your expectation. Please just concentrate and enjoy wt's coming, hopefully u will feel less stressed and can perform at ur best!

@nondescriptnyc I think Frank has done wonders for Mirai, and I respect him in every way, even down to the 'No Tears' rule. But this 'Keep Smiling' thing is a bit too much, and it downright hard to watch. The performance was over when the music stopped, let the poor girl show her disappointment if that's how she feels.

Thanks for uploading. Like Nagasu - her speed and overall joy in skating, but she got dinged for 5 under-rotations and two edge warnings. Hope Frank Carroll can fix before Nationals.
