The local government made it difficult for protesters to be heard by issuing protest permits. Legislation was put into place that prohibited that march. The cops were being fascist freaks through out the RNC. Do a search for Terrorizing Dissent.

This is normal procedure. I lived through the riots for People's Park, in the 60's, in Berkeley. I had to get permission from a guy in a tank, to go to my girlfriend's house on Benvenue. This is normal procedure for what they consider unlawful assembly, or riots. Nothing has changed since the 60's, so to say facism is not correct, and is not new. Why should these people be allowed to ruin a convention? I don't think they should be allowed to do that. I disagree with you people.

The Denver papers reported 152 people were arrested in Denver. There was a heavy police presence and several media were also caught up in this. We're not sure of numbers of media arrested there.

I think it is important to note that the city officials in MN went through great lengths to make any kind of significant protest unlawful. Ordinances were put into place for just the RNC in cities surrounding the RNC. I don't blame these people for giving it one last shot the final night and am appalled at how they were treated for it. It's simply not right. Can't you see it? WCCO here in MN was one of the only stations that aired the story that I saw. The media was very quiet about this.
Me 2 only place I heard anything about that protest was in here. I used to work for TV and they only show what they want you to know and not what you should hear.

Free assembly is part of our 1st Amendment of the Constitution. However every State of the Union have rules that govern this. Especially for a peaceful demonstration, not one that get's out of control as it did in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Permits were required in Denver also. Though the demonstrators there were more orderly since their "Messiah" was speaking. I know the constitution too. You just don't understand when our first amendment was written there were 13 colonies.

I'm studying criminal justice now and working on my b.s. degree. Terrorism is defined as a person or group of people who make a physical attack on a government with force for the government to do your will. Ex: you say you're going to attack this building or whatever if the government doesn't do this or that action and than you do it. Terrorism is an action not a thought. If you're peacefully protesting that is not a terrorist attack since nobody or building is getting hurt in the process.
That was sort of my point. The RNC knows they are going to commit an illegal abuse of power and people, they even have funds set aside for illegal actions and payoffs. I know CBS did. Their photojournalist was arrested. The footage couldn't be embedded, but in my response video it shows the cops rounding everyone up like cattle. Using only the base term Of Republic is inaccurate in a world where there are many Republics that are not Constitutionally based.
Don't get me wrong... you write very articulately on the subject, and you're correct that there are different types of Republican Governments, but in order for our government to follow the rule of a "Constitutional Republic" it must be specifically written into the US Constitution. Therefore, we are a "Republic" using a Republican Form of Government that is guaranteed.

The Denver papers reported 152 people were arrested in Denver. There was a heavy police presence and several media were also caught up in this. We're not sure of numbers of media arrested there.

I think it is important to note that the city officials in MN went through great lengths to make any kind of significant protest unlawful. Ordinances were put into place for just the RNC in cities surrounding the RNC. I don't blame these people for giving it one last shot the final night and am appalled at how they were treated for it. It's simply not right. Can't you see it? WCCO here in MN was one of the only stations that aired the story that I saw. The media was very quiet about this.

I can understand having a fine and misdemeanor charge if a protest group is flooding the streets. I can understand why you would need permission to block off entire streets. I don't understand the idea of unlawful assembly. I don't understand this charge of conspiracy to commit a terrorist act. Free assembly is part of our 1st Amendment of the Constitution. However every State of the Union have rules that govern this. Especially for a peaceful demonstration, not one that get's out of control as it did in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Permits were required in Denver also. Though the demonstrators there were more orderly since their "Messiah" was speaking. I know the constitution too. You just don't understand when our first amendment was written there were 13 colonies.

I'm studying criminal justice now and working on my b.s. degree. Terrorism is defined as a person or group of people who make a physical attack on a government with force for the government to do your will. Ex: you say you're going to attack this building or whatever if the government doesn't do this or that action and than you do it. Terrorism is an action not a thought. If you're peacefully protesting that is not a terrorist attack since nobody or building is getting hurt in the process.

I know CBS did. Their photojournalist was arrested. The footage couldn't be embedded, but in my response video it shows the cops rounding everyone up like cattle. You seem verse in the constitution... how is it that people were required to have permits to assemble and in some cases were canceled a week or so prior to the convention? Many if not all expired at 5pm. I understand the need to regulate things, but it just seems awfully strange. MN Independent has good articles about the RNC too.

WEll the debate is actually rather or not every single citizen has a right to own his or her own weapon, or does every citizen have the right to form their own militias. Because trust me the 2nd amendment somehow translated into everyone should have guns in America.

WHat part of "THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE" to keep and bear arms don't you understand? THE PEOPLE. US. YOU, ME and everyone else. JUST as WE "THE PEOPLE" have the right to freedom of religion and speech, etc. WHY do we have the right to bear arms? THe constitution makes it clear. "BEcause its necessary to the SECURITY OF A FREE STATE". THe people have the right to form milititas for the security of their state. THis includes being SECURE from the STATE, POLICE, MILITARY, etc.

The US Constitution states nothing about a Constitutional Republic or a Democratic Republic". Both parties in the US Government are Republican.

Section 4 - Republican government
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

I hate to disagree but Constitutional Republic is just a descriptive term for what American is it doesn't have to be "in the Constitution". America is a Republic because its society is based on the rule of law. It's a Constitutional Republic because its laws are made from the ideolgies set forth in the constitution hence a "Constitutional Republic". Using only the base term Of Republic is inaccurate in a world where there are many Republics that are not Constitutionally based.

Don't get me wrong... you write very articulately on the subject, and you're correct that there are different types of Republican Governments, but in order for our government to follow the rule of a "Constitutional Republic" it must be specifically written into the US Constitution. Therefore, we are a "Republic" using a Republican Form of Government that is guaranteed.
Article. IV. Section 4 needs to specifically state a "Constitutional Republican Government". This is why we're having problems.
