No! Buryats look close to Sibirian nations than to Mongolians.Specially they are nothing to do with Oirat Mongols of the west part of Mongolia,Russian Kalmykia,Xinjian,Qinhai of China.
But if you are a Russian you should know differences between Buryats and Kalmyks. They look different even act differently in same situation.Because Kalmyks are Oirat Mongols, Buryats are more close to East Mongols mixed with Sibirian nations and Zhurchens.Just remember Russian history! You can't find anything about Buryats but would find plenty about Kalmyks.
@messalini Anthropologically Mongols (including Khalkha, Buryat and Oirats) resemble south and north east Siberian people more than east asians (Chinese, Koreans, Japanese) and central asians (Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek people).
@yalguunburen It is true,Chukchas are not Chinese.Korean,Japanese ppl.Chukchas have much bigger heads with big cheekbones and piggy eyes, short necks. Also much fattier and have thicker skin.If you want see them u can watch Mongolia's President's picture here in UT putting Mongolia's president.
