  • @undeadfred probably best to not touch the clutch and just let off a little on the throttle.

  • got the same pipes on mine. makes it sound great.

  • maybe a 1200 sportbike... i dont feel much difference between the 883 and 1200 sportster except at take off... you can kill yourself on any bike, as long as the first thing you learn is to pull the clutch if you are going too fast you will be ok,..

  • What was the biggest difference after adding the Stage 1? I have the same pipes on my Iron.

  • who's wanted ben's bike form "Full Throttle" since they were kids? i sure did.

  • real sick bike like clean look to it sportsters are really nice bikes they ride real nice rode a sportster chopper recently ,sportsters are my fav.

  • how much was this bike originally! cuz id like to get one!

  • Hey man! nice bike, i was wondering if this bike would be easy to ride for me? i'm 6'2" and roughly 250lbs?? thanks and nice bike!

  • yo ya tengo la mia! estoy encantado de la vida.

    VIVA HD!!!

  • what would be a better "first bike"? (insurance wise, maintnence likw does it often have problems)

    -Kawasaki 250r

    -Harley Davidson

    -Suzuki s50

    thanks

  • @bob119911 Harley's reliability is getting better, although no where's near their Asian counterparts. an S50 is a fantastic beginner bike, so is the Ninja 250, Honda's CBR125 and 250's are great starters as well. This 883 is also an excellent beginners bike, though I'm not up to date on its maintenance or reliability. It's all dependent on what you want to ride and what is comfortable to you. Go sit on some bikes, cruisers and sport bikes alike to find something that puts a smile on your face.

  • @bob119911 Yamaha V-Star 650 is an amazing starter bike. best of luck!

  • Nice, nice, nice!!!

  • piękny. ; )

  • hey man, i wanna install these pipes on my iron too, did u have any improvements on ur perfomance or not?

  • Im seriouly looking at the HD Sportster. How much with up grade pippes?

  • ok i have a question, i bought a 09 iron, and after 5 months and 6000 miles and acouple of oil changes, my bike has started to make a funny noise, the bike has around 13500 miles total but ive only put 7000 on it, any ideas? it sounds like its coming from the cylinder closest to the oil tank

  • i love the short shots so much i think they look good on the sportsters

  • uh hmmm!!! Nice machine!

  • would you reccomend this for a 6'2" 260lb lineman? begginer rider

  • @03LancerDude i would say go down to your local shop and see if they have one and go seat on it and see how it fits...i am 6'3 265 and it was to small for me

  • omg this sounds just how i want my harley to sound

  • i want one really bad. DAMN IT

  • Bitchin'...I'm hooked!!

  • So I'm newb when it comes to motorcycles.. I'm planning on getting the iron 883 in about a year. Question though; what is the difference between a Vance and Hines Exhaust, and the Screaming Eagle Kit? I kinda get what the exhaust will do just from common knowledge, but have no idea what the screaming eagle kit does.. I tried googling, but nothing came up.. help anyone?

  • @txstate17 Vance & Hines are a brand of Exhaust Pipes. Screaming Eagle is an aftermarket H.D. performance brand. For future reference: if your going to change out your stock exhaust, You WILL want to get a high flow air cleaner and at least the H.D. Stage 1 download to compensate for the more air coming in the engine. IF YOU DONT: you will run lean and not right away but over time burn up your valve guide seals. LONG STORY SHORT: if you want more air out, get more air in

  • @MirrorImageFreak I'm in the same boat as txstate, buying an 883 in a month for christmas. Was just going to get the V&H pipes because i didnt think the air system would matter. now i know i must get the screaming eagle aswell. Thank you for helping us out and not laughing in us "newbies" faces :)

  • @MirrorImageFreak sooooo... you can avoid buying say a V&H Fuelpak?HD race tuner device for silly money??

  • Fantastic !!

  • I saw one EXACTLY like this outside of Georgia State University. It's seriously one of the most awesome bikes I've ever seen!

  • how mthose pipes aound awsome ! next summer Im upgrading mine... btw this bike is awsome I ride with guys who have sports bikes and unless they are going 160mph ( rarely ) this bike keeps up just fine

  • very nice..

  • drool. Can't wait to have mine. just a few more months.

  • BEAUTIFUL bike

  • Holy shit that thing is mean

  • could you put the exaust on without takin the cylinder heads off the bike? i know you had to rejet it, but did you also have to rejet when you when the the screamin eagle air intake? and EVERY time you rejet, do you go 1 size up on the main jet? if so do you have to do anuthing to the pilot jet? sorry for writting a book lol, thank you

  • @epi9 They are fuel injected so you would have to use a computer to program it.

  • COOL !!!!! FOR YOUR exhaust system ! however I still prefered the Vance and Hines the curved one ! very nice lol . Mine is the XL883R .

  • Very cool bike! How much was everything?

  • sweet man!

  • I'm looking to get the Iron as well. How does it ride? Is it comforable and does it have enough power to move you around decently?

  • you need some practice to ride this bike trust me, I get my first ride today in this bike and dropped =( nothing happends just a little scartch on the clutch leveler but in my opinion it has a lot of power

  • how much did you get your bike for , i love , please reply

  • did you rejet it?

  • this one or Hypermotard 796 don't know which to get

  • @weaternpi me i would go with 1100 evo or the streetfighter

  • idk which to get this beautiful bike or Hypermotard 796

  • wow- that's beautiful.

  • naaa ,what about 600 and 500 .moto cross 250 .The bike has an army look ,Sportsters are great and light, plus the new black turns head and the commercial is all dudes.

  • @lmaoyourface08

Totally wrong ! u must be gay tbh !

  • つや消しがまたいい味出してるね

    君アメリカ?

  • I had never ridden before taking the MSF course, like nothing at all not even a 4 wheeler, and im in love with my sportster 1200. id suggest going ahead and getting a 1200 for your first bike, its powerful, but you wont be bored with the speed and want to upgrade like all of my friends who bought 883's have.

  • In general, DO NOT MAKE YOUR FIRST BIKE A 1200 ANYTHING! You'd be hard-pressed to find a MSF instructor who would say it's a good idea to go from no riding to the MSF to a 1200 ANYTHING. There are exceptions but, generally, not a good idea. Instructors will tell you the first place you need to head after the last class day is parking lot to practice. The the basics of riding is going to better done on a smaller bike.

My class we had 300lb, 6' guy on a CB125T, & it was giving him plenty to do.

  • I'd be interested to know what your MSF instructor's would say about giving out that advice. You learn more starting with less is all I've ever heard. Buy used, ride until you get good, then sell for basically what you bought and really appreciate a move up.

Reminder - the first thing an instructor will tell you to do after graduating the MSF is to find a PARKING LOT and *practice*. Get something that fits (your size), but don't use that as an excuse to go big bore.

  • @undeadfred1 Most ppl with no experience could easily kill themselves on a 1200cc bike. I rode a 250cc for 8k miles and really learned to ride before moving up to my Sporty. Recommending a beginner get a 1200cc bike is just irresponsible.

  • awesome. simply stunning. nice job.

  • cute bike

  • stvna8040, I've just bought a 2010 Iron for a first road bike after riding trials bikes for 20 years. They are so easy to ride and handle, they are a great entry level bike.

  • @topchipstack i have just got my lic would you recommend it as a first bike i just love the look of it

    and i normally dislike harleys

  • @lethal1960 absolutely lethal, I enjoy it more each day. If you need to go 120 with your balls on fire then dont buy, if you want to cruise and turn heads then do a stage 1 with a decent set of pipes and for the money and the brand name you are getting in my opinion, Its the MUTZ NUTZ

  • @topchipstack thanks mate i love the bike i wanted an aprilia shiver but i also wanted comfort the harley is a stunner

who would have thought a guy who never really liked harleys would be buying one for his first bike

    hahha cheers

    Will

  • @topchipstack thanks mate i love the bike i wanted an aprilia shiver but i also wanted comfort the harley is a stunner

  • @topchipstack how fast hve you gone on urs

  • @topchipstack i was lookin at 1 for my first bike as well but Im afraid i'll get bored with it ... is it exciting to ride still ?

  • @topchipstack Entry level? Sportsters are not entry level bikes .If you buy one just to see if it's what you want-then you don't know anything about bikes, IMO.Sportsters were made as a light weight faster version of the Hog, and also to compete against British and Jap bikes being produced in mass quantities. I've put 25,100 miles on mine since last Feb 11, when I bought it, and love it. There are smaller Harleys, like the XR-750, you wouldn't call that an entry level bike would you?

  • @kzew98fm shutup bike god, who cares?!?! it's just a bike! now suck your penis

  • @uriel528 That's your job.

  • @kzew98fm You are right, everything I read says a lot of guys who have been riding bikes for a long time have bought the Iron because of it's cool old style look. Even guys who are 6 ft. tall and 200 pounds.

  • is this a good bike for someone who has never riden road bikes before. i want one but i have experience on dirt bikes and quads. dont really want to start on some 125cc crap i love this thing

  • @stvna8040 topchipstack is right. These are great entry-level bikes. I got one in November 09, my first bike. I've loved it, and I bet you will, too.

  • красавец, просто красавец

  • Hell yeah! thinking of get one thats affordable and "dark". I'm wondering if this bike is made for a 6' ft person though?

  • @shifty13 ist supposed to be for ppl between 5'6 and 6'2

  • man I want one bad

  • can a bigginer ride one as a 1st motorcycle?

  • arent these bikes capable of putting a passenger seat and pegs on?

  • @silverdestruction

Hello, you bolt them on if you want them, the same as any other motorcycle

  • u can put them on they are made for two riders

  • wat kinda pipes are those? not stock are they? the ones ive seen have chrome and theyre shaped differently

  • @shaevatho These are vance and hines short shots. They are not stock. Vance and Hines is the company that makes them.

  • I definitely would.

  • great bike man , i know they are straight out of one but they just look a bit factory to me , maybe a few mods here and there would liven it up

  • just state of the art bike

    many safe miles my friend

  • it's the only harley that i like.

all the other ones are to fuckin chromed out.

    i haaaaaaaaaaaate chrome !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Bikes those Harleys are. If you don't think so then go to hell. Iron 883... I will own one someday, but I will put ape's on mine. Love the feel of them on my streetbob.

  • im sure you love them too.

  • o man i want one so bad but iam a tall bastard so will it work??

  • love its size might be getting one

  • really like the looks, but it is a tiny. Wonder why they don't make a 1200 version? or is that just what the nightster is?

  • This is pretty much the sister to the nightster.

  • yeah, its hot little sister.

  • Amen

  • i believe that's just what the nightster is..

  • I can remember when Sporty's used to be Harley's entry level bike, now they look and sound better than most of the big twins!

  • all i need is my first harley and motly crue blareing

  • me gusta si alguno vende este modelo que conctacte conmigo

  • damn!

    thats true.

  • sooooo pretty with those pipes. it looks like a storm cloud

  • me gusta!

  • wheres the horse power?

  • what is the top speed of the stock 883 with the screamin' eagle (if that makes a difference)?

  • si questa moto fora biposto..............

  • everyone is telling me that the 883 hits harder on pothles, worse then others, is that true?

i heard when hitting something small its like hitting a crater hole...need ur help

  • does anyone know if Vance and Hines makes an exhaust for later model harleys?

  • beautiful

  • hows the mpg on this?

  • 45 city 60 highway i beleive? hell just give everyone motorcycles and boom you solved the oil crisis lol!

  • A Sportster beats driving a Prius Too!

  • @sirstikay69 traffic too :)

  • @sirstikay69

The oil crisis? You'd solve everything! except for motorcycle gangs, but they're not that big of a problem...

  • badass, getting the same bike with those pipes. but also doin a different air cleaner and bars and other little things.

  • How much is all that with installation.

  • How do you like the high pegs, low seat and low bars?

  • cojonuda

  • davvero fantastica!!

  • Superb !!

  • 5 Star! simply beautiful!

  • o never mind lol

    Buy a Harley, Ride a Legend !!!

  • god this is beautiful

  • is there a big difference in performance between the 883 and the 1200? i think a sportster would be good for a first bike but i want something that can perform

  • ces la petite soeur du 1200 nightster xl elle est supert

  • Nice, very good way to display. If you get tired of it, bring it to Arizona, I will take it off your hands for ya!

  • BEAST

  • i was wondering if you had foward controls or not and if they would work with those pipes from V&H. By the looks they might work better with the other set of slash shortie pipes they have.

  • I meant anything compared to 88 and 96 cubic inches Harleys , Dyna and up...

  • Verry nice bike.

I considered to buy me the same one too, as soon as my probation period is over.

    best regards from germany

  • very nice bike!

    im from mex

    a question...

    could you put another seat?

or only is for one person?

  • god thats a nice bike, what is one of those worth?

  • hehe around 13 grand,

but i bought one for 3 at auction

    with only 500miles on it

  • i went to the harley dealership today and i guess there in the 7 grand range. i want one so bad now!

  • the 883's are in the 7 grand range, the iron 883's are in the 8 grand range.

  • Comment removed

  • this looks better than the black nightster

  • how much for the exhaust???

  • an evolution sportster 883 thats well run-in and with stage 1 (and decent fuel) does 0-60mph in 5 secs or less. my 883R had no probs staying with a BMW M3 and 0-100mph was a match for both a 350bhp Impreza and new non-turbo Porsche 911. and will stay with them in the corners too, providing you are very fast and flowing and get your lines right. does have to be worked very hard to get the best performance from it though, really have to rev it which is unusual for a twin

  • Too funny. So many people criticise the 883.. The truth is; its faster on takeoff than any small car with less than 200hp. About 6.5 sec from o-60. It takes a 4.6 Mustang to do that.... The problem is; the bike is top heaver and doesnt handle nearly as good as a big bike.

  • when you say big bike, are you talking about a cruiser, touring bike?

  • I ordered my black shortshots yesterday. Love the sound, I did the same mod to my air cleaner cover I also put on black mini ape's and there really comfortable, You've got a great bike.

  • I love it...I was going to buy an iron 883 but was thinking about getting the nightster. I haven't test rode either yet but I hear that the 883 is uncomfortable to ride because of something hitting your leg? Also I'm not sure if the nightster is worth an extra $2k for a still air cooled bike. Let me know what you real bikers think. Thanks

  • I love this bike! Was checkin out the Nighster for a while, but this looks even better and those V&H pipes fit perfectly! Plus this will be my first bike so the 883 should be just right!

  • good choice my friend, Harley is finally paying the sportster its due respect, taking it back to its beginning and giving it that mean look....

  • sweet boners! lol me too!

  • it's too bad everyone is so critical of this bike. looks great, great price, and most importantly, it's a harley. i'm planning on getting an iron this summer. great idea with the pipes, i'd do the same.
