That was actually one of my first pipes...mine is a paronilli. The tobacconist suggested smoking flakes in it to prevent it from getting too hot. Just got turned on to your channel. Like it!
Nice vid, but do yourself a favour, do not twist the stem too often while the pipe is waqrm. It will wear down the connection, and you will end up with a loose stem...
I believe bruyere is french for heather, the type of tree whose roots provide the briar from which pipes are made, so you can think of it as french for "briar"
This is from some very quick research and a little experience, I could be wrong.
Well I use matches most of the time but my zippo, with the pipe insert, comes in handy quite often. It does gas up the smoke for a couple puffs but I think it clears up nice after that.
I have a pretty neat lighter, I've chosen this particular lighter because it is quite small and barely takes any room in my pocket it also has a nice cylindrical shape. The brand is called "Honest" which is a Chinese made lighter but great if you're on the go. Here is the link to their site although I couldn't find my lighter in there so I'm assuming its discontinued. honest.com.cn
I use matches most of the time but if it is windy or I don't feel like messing with matches then a Zippo pipe lighter it is. I don't find I get any bad flavor from it and it is very easy to use!
neither when it comes to the lighter. zippo has the fuel that will make your pipe smoke taste like ass, and the jet buthane is too hot; so I guess a butane non-jet lighter is the way to go (soft flame!)
I use a zippo pipe lighter. It is very easy to fill and works great outside when it is windy. I found that ronson lighter fluid has a slight taste but that burns off after one or two puffs. I have not tried the zippo lighter fluid but, I hear that it doesn't have any taste.
Quite a cool pipe, I always wonder about that one once I saw it in Ebay. Now about your question on lighters, I never had tried the zippo pipe lighter, I used the Jobon dual flame and the promise with pipe tool, I just got a Jobon with pipe tool as well recently and I bought two of those, one works as a charm, the other other one is kind of temperamental. The promise with pipe tool and the dual flame: highly recommended (both from Hong-Kong)
Gosh its tiny... I would accidentally inhale the entire pipe. :-\

I have one like that too :-) Mine's stamped with the name 'Frederick Tranter ', who have a shop in Bath, UK, which is well worth a visit.

@raindog951 I swear by the Zippo with the pipe insert. Just a brilliant design.
