LOL IM ONLY 13 and watching tuts and this for DJing and i realy just wanna do this soo bad but how do you guys like switch the songs do you do it on the computer??
wheres the cheapest place to buy one of those? cuz i only use virtual DJ and its cool and just wanted a controller
It's easy to get zero latency. Just buy a good sound card. like the Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ. Not sure what card you are using here. The VCI-300 uses high resolution faders and customer data so there is no issues there. Trust me a good sound card is 100% worth it.
I know on the regular version of Serato when you adjust the usb buffer you have to hit "apply" in order for the setting to change. there appears to be an apply button on there and I didn't see you hit. Maybe that isn't an apply button, can't read it all that well. Check that out though and see if it helps you.
how are you getting that "vinyl" sound right after you release the platter!? im a beginner but i can't seem to get that sound cept when i try to "scratch", could it be that since im new to this. i don't have the technique yet?
So do you think the Vestax is good for a beginner...I just want something for family party's and the price seems right. I like the portability...the NS7 does seem to be really bulky for a single unit....What do you suggest are you happy with your vestax?
@jgunzz numark mixdeck or vestax vci-300 ???? im a beginner and im looking for quality and performance.....i dont really care if its protable or nnot...hwats your opinion?
@fuckdirtylebs I've never used numark mixdeck, so I really don't have an opinion on that. that being said, everyone I know that has a VCI are all happy with their purchase.
@fuckdirtylebs I have ns7, im not that pro, is freaking good, but when u start to travel or moving it around, problem, HUGEE!, but freaking amazing, sometimes worth it!!!
well... that depends on your preference. Do you want a small compact setup but no spinning platter(vci300)? or you want a spinning platter but bigger setup(NS7)?
@wush786 the ns7 has actually turning vinyls, and is well good for scratching, this just has like twisty circles, with glowy lights to replicate the position of your track
well.. if you have the money, I would recommend a Macbook Pro. But other laptops work just as well. My old Dell, my friends sony... all worked well with no problems. I guess it depends on how much you have to spend and your preference.
my opnion ! i got serato! but i oxox start it doing gigs with total control! back on days! and it was paid off! this is too much $ it is not worts it! but goodluck.......djivan
I see you posted this Dec 2008 and asked if anyone knew how to correct the latency. I don't see that anyone has responded with an answer to your question so I was curious if you discovered a fix or was an update to Serato Itch the fix (going from Beta 1.0.4 to a production release)?
I'm not sure if I understand what you are trying to ask. Connect to a stream as in... can you stream whatever you are playing on VCI-300 thru online?? if that's what you are asking. Yes you can. You can connect the output to your computer's soundcard and stream it online. Just like you would stream if you had a turntable setup or any kind of audio source.
Lol this is a toy....if your looking 2become a dj do yourself a favor and jux go with ur standard 1200s or ur choice of table top cd players. cuz this is a waste in my opinion. your money can go into effect processor or midi or something more important than this piece of equipment here. if you think about it ur gonna end up spending money in the long run anyways might put it towards something that will last...but thats just me...
the only reason im looking into buying this is because i have no money, ive got $1700 and im sure thats not enough to cover some 1200's, a decent mixer, serato or anything like, and a speaker... you got any suggestions?
As I mentioned before, if money is an issue, this might be a good option. $1700 is not enough to buy all brand new TT & a mixer, but might be enough to buy used equipment.
yah man SAVE UR CA$H dont be to eagar and set your mind on that one item dont settle for anything less man, 1300 bucks for the TT57 mixer and depending on wat Turntables or Cd players you wanna get ull have bout 400 bucks to play with. save it and jux put it towards your next item its all about saving man dont rush things..you will be rewarded in the end. but you can get this item do a couple of gigs.. and there you go more cash jux depends on what you wanna do man.
and how far you wanna go...your not gona become a DMC champ or anything like that with the itch. but if your doin it for the money this would proly be the best bet.
yo go to guitar center! 2 1200 should be like a grand, SL1 is 500 used and a denon dnx 120 is 200! thats a perfect setup...u can mix on any old crappy boombox with an aux in for now!
"The PITCH SHIFT buttons allow you to offset the pitch of the track to give you access to different speed ranges. Pitch shifting up will make the track faster and pitch shifting down will make it slower. The maximum pitch shift is 12 steps up and down"
this setup is for anything but scratching yes it does imitate vinyl and makes the same sounds yipeeee BUT vinyl will be vinyl and all else will just be plastic i use pioneer cdj 800 i can rip it on those but it's too plastic only bought it because cd is cheaper. now i have purchased a serato video mixer and soon to buy technics with needles this setup is the only thing to buy nowadays. and a mac pro all other cdj vci herculees is suitable for dance techno trance deejays etc...
well.. as I would tell anyone, I would suggest starting with Technics turntables if you have the budget. In this case, I have no personal experience with DNS1200's or the mixer, so I can't really comment on those. VCI-300 however might suit you if you are looking for small size and feel of CDJ's. You probably have more flexability with CDJ's, but Serato has been pretty solid with their product. For a beginner, VCI-300 is real easy to learn on and might be cheaper than buying 2 DNS & mixer
As long as your "Acer" meets the minimum spec itch requires, it should work just fine. my old dell XPS, my buddy's Sony all worked just fine using with itch. No problems..
dose this ever freez on you.. i got one and it is shit.. some times wont even turn on with out having to reset.. £600 pounds of hasel.. THIS ITEM WILL LET YOU DOWN.. STAY CLEAR OF THE VCI-300.. NO MATER WHAT PC YOU HAVE..
Nope. Never froze on me before. You probably have one of the earlier defective units that were recalled and needed to be exchanged. They have posts about it all over the serato forum. Some units with range of certain serial #'s were known to be defective. get yours exchanged. Also, try updating the software to newer version. I see you are on a SPAM mission to post this same note with every VCI videos. LOL good luck with that.
I think it's great unit depending on what you need it for. I like this because of it's size.(for small gigs) But overall I still prefer my turntables. That being said, it's a plus that itch was made by same company that makes scratch Live. so transition between two programs are seamless. If you need a setup for regular mixing, bit of scratching, this works great. If you are a serious turntables and mostly do scratching, I would probably recommend a regular turntable setup.
if your choice is between CDJ400's or Vci, it pretty much boils down to your budget. I would get Vci over CDJ400 setup. (I would recommend at least CDJ800 or CDJ1000 if you want to go the CDJ route). does it have loop, i mean like what we see in other softwares that they have like 1 2 4 8 or times loop ?
Thanks
