He is a sculptor from the big Island. He has brought me out to the lava with him once. It was the most rare and interesting experience. He has been "tossing" these pots for 25 plus years.

Seems sketchy and all, but it's just a gimmick, people who cast their own bronze sculpture are exposed to the same danger. Excepting that we're not stupid enough to toss the molten material around with a shovel, but he's just doing that for television, there are smarter ways that could be done.
