Not to mention, eating shitty food even if you're in a caloric deficit, will cause you to retain alot of water since those foods are usually packed with salt and other chemical preservatives.

  • @bigbrown4114493 I'm not too underweight, and I've got a healthy amount of muscle on me, but it's just that I burn soooo many calories by playing a cardio-intense sport, and having an extremely high metabolism. I have to eat about 500 calories every 2 hours to just satisfy my DIV. I should be going above that to gain weight.

    a myth actually. technically ice cold water has negative calories because its 0 calories and it takes your body energy to warm up the water to body temperature, not to mention the hard work required to pick up the glass and chugging lol

  • @fr00bers Well celery does take more calories to digest than it takes in, it can help you loose fat. You would have to have a load of celery to have any adverse affects. If you eat like five sticks of celery whilst you are hungry instead of a snickers bar, it can help you loose body fat but only at a very slow rate so its OK. They weren't talking literal when they said to eat loads. Too much of anything is bad for you.

  • @myslanggang Well, for losing weight, rice is bad because it's high on the glycemic index. Basically, foods high on the glycemic index are carbs that digest really fast and cause you body to release a shit load of insulin. When your insulin is spiked fat burning is impossible. Another bad thing about spiking your insulin is that all the insulin lowers your blood sugar which make you hungry. Basically, white rice makes it impossible to burn fat and increases your appetite.

  • @myslanggang Yep, since you're not interested in losing weight eat white rice. It's a good source of carbs which you'll need to build muscle. You need carbs and protein to put on muscle. White potatoes are also fine since you're not trying to lose weight. They will also spike your insulin which will increase your appetite so you can eat more and put on some more muscle.

    It contains nothing but the endosperm in a whole grain. Basically, a whole grain has a bran, endosperm, and germ. The endosperm is the unhealthiest part, and contains fast releasing carbs, which don't leave you full.

  • @shayorshayorshayor It applies..I'm an extreme ecto too and my body BMR burns 2574 calories per day (this means I could be lying on bed all day and still would burn 2574cal). With my daily activities I got to add up 500-900cal...plus the surplus of 500 cal to put on weight..this makes almost 4000 cal per day and believe me 4000 cal of healthy food make ALL the difference in your energy levels vs bad foods I can't push the same in the gym the next day after cheating meals high in simple sugars..

Just eat until you get full but not uncomfortably full. Eat good sources of proteins: eggs, beef, turkey, tuna, chicken, salmon, white fish and rotate your carbs. We are ecto so we can eat more white rice and potatoes

  • @shayorshayorshayor Another important thing is to add these healthy fats snacks like nuts and also adding a bit of olive oil to your main dishes..this will help you get the good fats and more calories. Right now I woul say for you not to worry about calories..just make sure u get your protein everymeal 30-40grams and eventually your appetite will increase as u gain muscle. Don't expect more than 2 pounds of lean mass per month. Trust me..been there and done it ;)

  • @shayorshayorshayor 135lbs and 5"6 is not that skinny. I remember when I started 4 years ago I was 130lbs and 5,9!! Now I'm 165 and 6feet and I prefer to have this ecto body type than any other. I don't gain fat around my belly, have very small waist and my shoulders and back are wide, girls love it :)

    nothing wrong with white rice, my family is from india, we eat rice 2 sometimes 3 meals a day, our families have been eating like that for generations. brown rice is slower digesting carb, has more nutrients so is considered healthier. i will never lose my appetite for white rice
