@Dutchly If you have to make production this is no good. This is not a new concept. Google "log peeler" to see how to mass produce slick logs. Also, you can't put a fine finish on a peeler as during the drying process it will crack, check, split, and sometimes warp. This makes a peeler only suitable for rustic applications. This being said, this is not the correct proceedure for turning a log as the perfect round will not be maintained after installation. Thanks for your reply.
What a monumental waste of time. Buy a roughing gouge. Any intermidiate level wood turner could produce ten of these to your one
