In one night a pack of wolves killed 120 sheep near Dillon, MT and didn't eat one of them. Were all of the sheep weak or sick? I don't think so.

Moneys collected from permits go to protecting the animals from abuse (poachers, etc) and habitat. Wolves are competition? Where you would once see hundreds of elk you now see zero and yes they do kill for fun. There were numerous elk carcasses that have been killed and left alone. In one night a pack of wolves killed 120 sheep near Dillon, MT and didn't eat one of them. Were all of the sheep weak or sick? I don't think so.

Farmers blame wolves because they have to much pride to admit they didn't put enough effort into protecting their livestock. Wolves aren't phantoms, they can't walk through fences. They have livestock dogs for a reason. You don't just put great pyreanees puppies in a herd of sheep for no reason do you?

Wolves kill dogs. It is a very good hunting technique to take a dog hunting with you. When the wolves smell or hear a barking dog they will come on the run to kill the dog so they do not have to compete with it. i have done this several times and have shot many wolves.

I am sorry if you see them that way, but I suppose you must, as you have only seen one side of them. (wolves aren't cannibals, by the way.) I understand that they are eating money, as you make it seem, but WHO moved into WHO'S land? They are only trying to stay alive, just as you do every day. If you truly want them gone, then put up a fence. They eat every bit of their prey, but what about the hunters who kill them? No, they are left there, skinless and exposed, to rot in the ground.

but its not an excuse to kill them what i dont get is we used to use shock collars on dogs why not stick one on a bunch of the wolves and set it up to where it shocks them when they get to close sure its a bit mean but its better then death and they wont teach their pups that its an easy place to get food and they wont get a taste for it

Listen, your "Hunt to live, Live to hunt" thing intrigues me. This whole wolf slaughter wouldn't be all that bad - of course, as wolves are my absolute favorite animals, I still would be deeply distressed- if they could USE them. They don't eat the wolves, they sell their fur. "Hunt to live", I have no complaints about that. You need to eat to live, it's the food chain, the natural order of things. It only bugs me when a life is wasted.

The best method to control deer. Is hunting and Wolf reintroduction. Wolves are not dangerous to people. Livestock owners should have good fences and gaurd dogs. For too long we play god so we can live in a perfect world. Then one day you will get bite by the brown recluse. Then you spend a shit load of money. Then catch cancer from the bug spray.

I also have studied them first hand and what they have done to the habitat where i live. If they are not hunted they will keep reproducing till they deplete their prey resources and then the wolf population will suffer much loss from starvation. That is common sense a quick kill with lead or a long painful death??
