  • not bad. in the beginning, put the house top (accent stopped with the tongue) on the second note of the eighth note sets, not the first.

  • If it soundz good it iz good. You have done your homework well.

  • im play Tenor and Im just learning this song in Jazz lab

  • Ah, High five for tenor sax!

...my parents say it's too loud to play in the house lol, you must be playin that track loud.

  • I played this in jazz band this past year,

  • You got a nice tone and I have a hard time believing the comment made by "xdragonforce 101" Keep at it. Sounds good.

  • you're a great player....... not sure why you're getting negative comments at all. you play beautifully. bunch of idiots.

  • man ive been watching alot of your videos and reading the comments and they are just bad. i mean no your not stan getz john coltrane or sonny rollins but it is great, its a different style its YOUR style. i hate when people tell me that i sound like someone because i dont want to sound like anyone i want MY sound. and youve found your. GREAT JOB dude. keep playing

  • ive read some comments on this and they are plain spiteful this guy has a real bluesy , mellow tone and over TIME it will develope its great by the way

  • Like your sound.

Your licks are starting to sound good too.

  • Mickey Mouse in the Backround!!!!

    Well played!

  • i played bari for this song last year for 2008 louisiana state honar band and it was epic i had to play at like FFF xD

  • like it

  • This is the first jazz tune I heard, and by Oscar Peterson from "Night Train". Too crazy for me at that time.

  • Actually in Spanish it's "ensamble", but you're right

  • good tone n all

but please, my speakers are pieces of crap and i cant afford to buy new ones

please, pleasee play a bit louder

    :D

  • Damn, i wish i was that good!

  • What brand of sax do you use? i'm trying to get my own.

  • YOU ARE FINGER PAINTING with the blues, and thats good. Now start adding some content. Play more hip rythymns and use more space. dont mean a thing with out that swing. Now most importantly. ADD leading tones to chord changes, guide tones lines, III VI ii V I runs and licks and u bee a great

    good job

  • very impressive tone

  • nice run on this tune, i like you tone. have you tried some parker lines? you can never go wrong with parker when your a saxophone, maby work on some deminished but nice job check out some of my videos

  • Oh and whats your mouthpiece set up? Infact, what's your sax?

  • Ignore that, I just checked another vid.

  • Excellent mate, its great to hear a proper musician on youtube. Infinitely better than the other video you advertised on, the 'exception to the gruel' thing (or whatever it was). Bit more variation in style etc, and it'll be excellent. Fantastic tone btw.

  • how old are you?

  • 15. 16 in november.

  • Very good job. You have really good tone and I think you'll go far. Also you are way better than crappy guy on other vid (exception to gruel or some crap like that?) Five stars from moi. Don't stop playing.

  • I love your sound but you have to put a little bit more variation in your playing and tempo. I also play the saxophone (alto) and they said the same to me: it gets quite boring to listen at for more than 3 minutes. If you work on that you'll have more fun in playing your horn

  • yeah, you sound good, but it does get tedious to listen to after a while. You've definitely got the technique and tone down pretty well.

Try thinking more about structuring your solos. Start out small and build. Use dynamics. And especially use motifs. Motifs are what make solos interesting. I'm guessing you like Sonny Rollins, so take a listen to his first chorus on St. Thomas.

  • to tell u the truth, most of the videos that i have posted on utube, are kind of mindless improv. pretty much, i practice a lot and i know what sounds good,. i use the basis of scales for the progression, and these videos are what came of it. click subscribe and in the next couple of weeks ill put some more serious vids on here. thanks for the comments.

  • great job by the way, you have a great tone

  • during you improvisation period, are you just playing up and down the blues, pentatonic major, and major scales or what?

  • I have played the flute for 1 year and I have to change to Tenor in 7th grade. I was wondering if the fingerings are similar in any ways. Also, if you can please tell me what type of reeds I should use since I am going to start.

  • i dont play flute as of now, i play sax and clarinet, but i have messed around with the flute. i have been told that the fingerings are very similar though. to start, i recommend vandoren traditional 2.5 reeds. dont get a rovner ligature (the leather ones) unless it has a metal plate where the reeds go. i had one for my concert band mpiece, and the leather seemed to dampen the tone. so probably stick with the stock ligature

  • Good job. undiscovered talent! With that tone you could get far in life! Way better then bill clinton...lol... Keep playing, I wish I was as good as you! Keep going with it!
