A good little tip on this game is if your in a pickle and about to die, just press start and quit the game. Select continue game from the main menu and you won't have to do the whole level again to get the perseverance achievements.

I just got 1000/1000 in this game - and THEN saw this guide... nicely done, wish I would have seen it at the beginning of the game. Even still I think it took me 6 hours to get all the achievements. Its great that you can go back and replay levels you missed items on.
