    Quantity of reps/poundages doesn't mean a thing. The correct execution and strictest form throughout a discipline must always be the goal. I would rather see him knock out half as many, but with slower cadence, and full extension on the negative aspect.

  • @ant3141 ur not suppose to completely lock out ur arms when doing many pull ups. It puts more continous stress on ur back, since when ur arms r locked all the way out at the bottom, ur just hanging there a taking all stress off for a second.

  • its good you can do that many it is atually quite impressive but the only thing is you are doing them way too fast, from a bodbuilders perspective most exercises are better done slowly to be more effective, its looking good vs muscle developement.

  • wow, the level of knowledge on this forum is ridiculously low. First off, there are no shoulder workouts in this video. If he's working out the shoulders, he's doing it WRONG. It's mostly biceps and lats. There is some forearm contractions in there, but it's mostly lats and biceps. The problem with his technique is that after he gets tired, he starts using his lower body to propel himself upwards. This is a BAD technique and gives an innacurate measure of how many chinups he can really do.

  • Chin up mainly train lats or latimus dorsi and also biceps plus traps, the traps pr trapezius is traind mor ore less isometricly,it's great for upper body strength a real mans exercise, try this if you want to increase strength do six reps power up quickly and ower slowly, lower for about four sec's and the do your seventh rep up quickly the hold for 3 secs at 45 degrees, 3 secs at nienty degrees and 3 secs at 135 degrees....the repeat...a real worker.

  • I think you guys get to focused on how far down people go with their chins/pullups, ill never hang 100% straight because its not good on your joints,especially with wide grip pull ups. As for bending your legs and crossing your ankels, that makes a big difference in the difficulty but if youre going for high numbers than ur legs hanging is fine. Personally i can do only 14 wide grips, 20 standard, and 30 chins @ 160lbs so this guy is insanely good.

  • Well actually, these are pull ups not chin ups, and he does go all the way down. If you can do more than 5 you would no that if you go to the completely extended position on every rep, you would fuck up your shoulder eventually.

  • Uhm, there is speed climbing, alpine style climbing and more stuff. As fast as possible does not necessarily mean sprinting. It depends.

    In Speed climbing there is wall to climb as AFAP. And people do that and they even JUMP in the middle of a climb. In alpine climbing you go a up a mountain with ultra light gear and without ropes as fast and safe as possible. Thats why it is an elite sport, those that fuck up die. They go ULTRA fast though.

    rock climbers need endurance and power, doing fall pull ups will increase power, doing lots will increase endurance. If there is a large overhang and a their feet come off the wall than the rock climber may need to climb with his arms only, it is very hard to hang there by your arms only so one would go as fast as possible safely.
