I know it's pointless telling you now but the reason those colomns had target icons on them (V) were so you could zip from one to the next without manually aiming them by locking on. If you have the Hold option for Z targeting you can be aiming at the next one instantly.

I can't remember who said it (think it was Aonuma) but they said something about the Double Clawshots' design/mechanic made move like Spider-Man.
