  • Hi

Just thought I would shear something I do with my shoulders. 1 shoulder - wrap in foil freeze for 24 hrs. if you want to cook it now.

Remove from freezer open foil add ONLY meat tenderizer on both sides. Re wrap the foil put in 250 oven for 8- 10 hrs. It will just fall off the bone. We put a little Bar B Q sauce on it then.

  • @mjgollo1 Thank you, that sounds wonderful....Thanks!

  • WOW, What a blessing the Lord has given ya all these fine deer,...yep nothin' more tasty than some deer meat, considering their thin and lively critters, they sure have alot of meat on 'em,...and looky here Timber's ever so eager to help his momma out,...M-Man and your girls are gonna love the sausage ya made for 'em,...thumbs up Misty Shooter, glad you're back on YT!! =D

  • @qualqui Thank you, it has been a wonderful blessing.....They do have alot of meat on them....And it is healthy meat too......Glad to be back on....Thank you!!!!

What a blessing to be given those deer..and what a blessing to be able to share!!

  • @TheMrsVolfie Thank you!!! It was a wonderful blessing to get those deer....I am so thankful....

  • Im just curious..once a deer is killed, how long do you have to get it processed before it is not fit to eat? Thanks for the video.

  • @kokonutbaby1 You can hang the deer in the shade with day time temps not above 50 deg with the skin on ...i have saw deer hanging for the last week in 75 deg temps . i will NOT DO THAT . IT IS NOT SAFE....mountainman

  • another good lesson, Thanks Misty!

  • @tjbollman1 Thank you, Tess!!!

  • @GreyManDet Thank you!!!

  • @MrTurboSpaz Awwww thank you!!!

  • Cool, I just picked up one of those old-tyme grinders at a yard sale, hav't tried it out yet.

  • @MisterSoul99 They work great....

  • @mmlrc6atgmailcom mine came with the one brass plate, I wondered if I might need other ones with different sized holes... any idea?

  • @MisterSoul99 I only use the one plate, I find it they are too small then it turns into mush. If I want if finer then I grind it twice. I had all 3 of the plates at one time. The other 2 were just too small of holes....So I think you will be fine..Thank you

  • You always find the best ways of making me Jealous and hungry at the same time.

  • @thump186 LOL...Thank you...Hope yall are well...

  • I love Old Plantation seasoning. I like to add equal amounts of pork fat with mine. It isn't as healthy but it taste wonderful. I would like to get some heirloom corn seed from you sometime.

  • @raqtrhorses1 It is one of the best seasoinings I have used. When we get some extra I will let yall know....Thank you!!!

  • You live in an amazing community. Thanks for the video.

  • @willkaren4ver Thank you!!!

  • you got some serious skills lady!!! thanks for sharing this with us

  • @SoCalPreppers LOL...Thank you!!!

  • It is so unreal to see you do this and to think that I never ate deer (or venison as they call it hear) because it is one of the most expensive things on a menu in a good restaurant. Not to mention it is not sold here in a supermarkt or butchers. (Deer is an endangered species here in Holland) I just wish I could come over for a taste. Tnx for the great videos though :-)

  • @beerzzz Thank you!!!

Wow, they do not even sell it here in a restraunt, orin the super markets, there is so many ran over here in the US...I wish I could send you some...There are plenty here...

  • Did ya have ta add any suet ta keep it together! Great vid! GOD BLESS!

  • @TheDaytonDevil No, I do not add anything to it...It seems to stay together just fine for me...Thanks GOD BLESS!!!

  • @RichWyatt1 Thank you!!!

  • If you would chill the meat before grinding, tendon's would not be a problem in the grinder. I have a sausage making book with hundreds of recipes and each one mentions chilling the meat before grinding it. The closer it is to frozen the better it passes thru the grinder. It is also harder to grind the meat the more it is frozen so there is a happy medium to how cold the meat should be for easy grinding and minimal effort.

  • @randyhebert I chilled it over night in the fridge before I gound it. It was not close to froze, but it was cold. Thanks for the info though....

  • Lucky girl.. I have not had deer meat in such a long time

  • @HappyBubblesSoap We had not had any in a couple of years either, it is so much appericiated here....

  • It is so instructive to see how a smaller community works. It is always so much more exciting to live in God provision as he provided through brothers and sisters. What a day to have all that venison arrive!

  • Always learning something valuable from you. Thanks.

  • @subtac Thank you!!!

  • great vid as always, thanks misty

  • @dman042002 Thank you!!!

  • Great haul. For the last 4 years I have helped my buddies track, gut and drag their deer out of the woods seeing how they are lazy and smoke and cant drag them out lol but I get some great deer meat out of it for helping.

    Schmoo

  • @MichiganTNP Thank you!!!

Sounds like a great deal to me....

    Misty

  • misty. halelulujah.

  • @oogp Thank you!!!

  • Love it, I use a mincer like that too :) Thanks for sharing, I can't get my hands on deer in these parts.

  • @HalfQ Thank you!!!

  • Misty, I always add some fatback to ground deer meat to make it a little juicier. Deer meat is so lean anyway, What is your take on that?

BTW Timber may need more beans in his britches but the way he was gritting his teeth you could tell he was giving his all to the task. Your family is an inspiration.

  • @oceannavagator Well I know alot of ppl who add some fat to theres too, but lean is what I like so much about it, I just add alittle bit of Canola oil to the pan before I fry it, but we never add anything to ours....

Thank you so much, he had been waiting his turn, so he was going to give it his all.....Thanks again....

  • That's a right nice mess of meat you got there, I hopin to get me a deer this coming weekend.

  • @ewetubesuxass Thank you!!!

  • @rdnkrfnk He is a great helper.....You would be more than welcome. It sure don't....Thank you Edward...

  • Does deer taste as good as beef??

  • @curlybobz I think it taste better, more flavor, unless you are raising your own beef, then it would be a tie...

  • Looks like you had your hands full today for sure. Great job.

    God Bless,

    Elba

  • @elbacooks4u I sure did...Thank you!!!

  • That is great. I love venison. Good stuff. Cool to see your son in there cranking.

  • He need a little more beans in his britches...lol My grandma had either the same grinder or one close to it she used to grind up bologna onions and pickles mix all that with sandwich spread would give anything to have that again but you can`t get good bologna anymore well at lease here you can`t

  • @Carballoca Thank you!!!Yes he does, Mountainmans grandma use to do the same thing with the grinder I am useing, but she done it with left over roast. It was orignially hers....

  • @19brandon66 Thank you!!!

  • Yum Yum!

  • @ConnerPlainLiving Thank you!!!

  • that really looks great, seems like so few people in this day and age have the stomach to butcher their own meat.

  • @ABGAN100 Thank you!!!

I have butchered alot of meat....

  • Getting 2 deer is a nice blessing. You did good work processing all that meat in a day. I've got a grinder just like that one but I need to learn how to process a deer (or hog).

  • @penguinistas It sure is...Thanks! Well it was so late in the evening, that I put it in the fridge over night then cut it off the bone and ground it the next morning...But I would have done it in one day if it would have been earlier...

  • What a great helper you have there!! Great video. I wish someone would bring me a deer! Lucky you!

  • @snaps81625 Thank you!!!

  • what a great blessing!! you dont hang them for a couple days before you cut them up??and let them drain??

  • @frogprepper Thank you!!!

Well if the weather is suitable we do, but it was just too warm for our liking to do it this time, Plus we had to fix a spot to do it.

  • MMMMMMMMMM looks like good eating to this ole mountain guy. I might have to head down off the hill and head West if it gets to smelling too good down yalls way LOL thanks for the vid.

  • @kiddstuff1 Thank you!!! It sure is good eating....

  • @TheSemperfidude Thank you..He is not a quiter...God Bless!

  • All you need now is a Dehydrator to make some deer jerkey....Great Video Misty looks good...Paula

  • @Allen2045 Yes I know....Thank you!

  • Neato!

  • @ArtisanTony Thank you!!!

  • I don't know if you all know this. But if you will soak that deer (quartered) in water, salt, and ice. Changing the water every day for three days, add ice if needed and more salt. It will get rid of the wild taste. The blood is what gives deer the wild taste and this process will take most of the blood out, and you will not be able to tell the difference in deer and beef. Guaranteed. I haven't thought about it but I may try and do a video on it. I gotta get a little better luck though!

  • @hillbillybushcraft Oh, I never liked doing it that way, I like my meat red, and I have never had a problem with wild taste, it never stood out to me...I have known ppl to do this and ruin the meat..Thanks for the info though...

  • When deer hunting this past weekend. No luck, but the adventure was worth it.

  • @enriquesonora1500 Sorry, but glad you had a good time...

  • @enriquesonora1500 Thanks. Check out my page and see the good times camping while deerhuntin'

  • What a nice blessing! :)

  • @oaktreega Yes it was, thank you!!!

  • Wow, you are so blessed! Thanks for the video.

  • @SouthernBellePrepper Thank you...Yes I was, and am...It was wonderful....

  • Misty,

I have an old one like that but my blades were missing. I went to a yardsale saturday and I bought one in the box with all the pieces with the instructions for $3. so I'm set and waiting for the deer.......still waiting, lol. Thanks for the info on the mix, I'll look for that brand.

  • @2Bibleppl Wow I am glad you found another good one...that is great! And a great price....Thank you

  • Great video and what I like is that young man was having a bit of trouble turning that meat grinder. But I didn't hear him say I can't do it! He just bore down and did it. Good job little man. Now for my question. I have a meat grinder but it seems to grind the meat to find. It is like puddy. What size are the holes in your grinder's plate. I have a few pieces of steel I want to make a grinder plate with the correct size holes.

  • @Buckrun11 Thank you!!!! Yes he does not give up easy...I think they are the size of a FAT pencile....It is a little bigger than a #2......Good luck

  • Great video! I love your giant stainless steel bowl :) Where do you get the seasoning you use for your sausage? Is it available online?

  • @minkeeboodle Thank you! I put all that in the discription...I get it at the local grocery store...You probably can find it on line. It is leggs Old Plaintation brand...and I get my bowls at the local Mennoite store....

  • @mmlrc6atgmailcom thanks, i'm so sorry i didn't read the description first :( but thank you for sharing your wonderful videos :)

  • @minkeeboodle Oh that is no problem...Hope you find it...

  • You can't beat free venison! I have yet to do my own processing, but maybe one of these years I'll try. I usually have the sausage made with 50% pork to keep it moist.

  • @The806Traveler No you can't....It is a great deal, all you have to do is gut and skin it....Yes I know many ppl had it ground with pork, but I like to keep it pure...Thank you! Either way is great!!!
