We just got our old super nintendo going again and decided to play thru the super mario bros 2 - and realized we never beat it as kids !!!! And here we go, up til this weird frog boss and cannot figure out how to hurt him :@ So tyvm for this post! Help loads, so fun to finally beat this game!

One thing I get from this fight is that Wart isn't actually fighting you. Hell, I don't think he's even aware of your presence. He just trots back and forth on that little platform of his shooting bubbles at the vegetable machine.

Another way to stone (defeat) Wart is to hover behind him after catching a vegetable and throw it at him.

Yeah, to me, the 3 headed snake at world 6 is tougher than Wart. But I have a strategy for beating his ass too!

Here's the easiest way to beat Wart on NES, SNES, and possibly every version! You get a vegetable, jump over Wart, and get behind him! Wart will still be facing towards the left and won't even acknowledge that you are behind him. Wait for his mouth to open throw a vegetable in it. Since you are behind him, his fire balls won't destroy the vegetable. So if he shoots out fire balls, who cares! Throw it there anyway. Twinkle toes Luigi jumps the highest so I always pick him.

Ah, it happens. Both my NES and SNES are fucked up! But they lasted me a long time. I used to play this game every day for many months before I was able to beat it. It was hard. Then I finally beat it. Then after a few years, after beating it a few times, it got really easy only because I knew it like the back of my hand. But initially, it's a hard game. I beat Mario 3 in a less amount of time than Mario 2.

yeah, my cat went into my room and slept on my SNES. and then my dog game in and trashed my room, and my snes had a screw driver in it, when I took it out, my SNES still worked for about a week, but then it stopped. iT JUST GOES TO SHOW, LOCK YOUR BEDROOM DOOR.

I'm also convinced that Nitendo makes its products so they can break easily. Even if my NES lasted me 15 years. But I took good care of it the whole time and it just mysteriously stopped working one day. And the game cartridges for both the NES and SNES would fuck up constantly. The game chip would eventually get loose inside the plastic and wouldn't the play games. My Atari (the very first ones that the Sears company made)is over 30 years old and still works fine and the games still work fine.

@CamusTheDark I'm very sorry 2 hear ur ps2 broke. i had 2 replace the first one i got within 1-3 years (id remember), but with my newer one, some of my games tend to skip from time 2 time. it really sucks ik, but i think 1/2-2/3 of the retro 90s games are much better than about 4/5-9/10 of new school games today. yea, the old school days were great.

This isn't the real Mario 2, this is actually a game called Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic. The real one was never released here. But you can get on Mario All-Stars as Lost Levels or on the Virtual Console.
