I have run your turning inserts and they just don't hold up. Kennametal inserts hold up better in the turning than yours, even though you are both the same company. Now your milling tooling is pretty awesome. I like your insertable drills also. If you can match or exceed kennametal turning inserts in life, surface finish, and speeds/feeds, I will ask my boss to start buying your turning inserts again. 4 okuma lathes eating 1018 to 8620 all day every day. @alderaforall Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! We will be releasing some new turning inserts in our Spring Launch. Be looking for them at your local distributor in the April-May timeframe. If you'd like to test some out, let me know and we can make some arrangements. Thanks and again I apologize for the delay!
@WidiaSolutions Thanks for the reply. My widia rep brought me a cnmg432 to take for a test drive a week or two ago and it did perform well. Ran it at 1300sfm, fr=.01, doc= .0625" per side, loc=2.9" in 1018. Got 250 prts on one tip, then moved on to another job with same speeds/feeds and doc of .1 per side, got another 250 prts on the same tip. Nice performance. You're on the right track.
