  • I think its pretty cool that you can see the camera and the backs of there heads in the camera.

  • OMG Doctor Pooh !! Cute shirt : D

  • Midnight in Paris... Unforgettable movie! (my wife went into labor while we were watching it) :)

  • Midnight in Paris is my third favorite film of 2011, Martha Marcy May Marlene comes 1st, and Melancholia is 2nd. I'm really happy that I saw this film.

  • Midnight In Paris is in my top 3 movies of 2011. I absolutely loved it.

  • I saw it and liked it.

  • My pops dragged me to this movie and i hadn't seen any trailers so i had no idea what to expect, but i really liked this movie. The subject matter is light, and it's done tastefully. This is definitely one of the most solid movies of 2011 imo.

  • clint eastwood, that's it

  • great movie and probably Owen Wilsons best performance. he really needs to get back in to the indie world

  • Hemmingway bitch!!!

  • I like this movie. I really agree with the whole idea of how people always think that things in the past are better than the present, yet we are blinded by how good things are now

  • @schmoesknow can you watch my reviews i just started reviewing and want to get alot of views and subscribers and comments and become a popular youtube reviewer like you

  • Marion Cotillard (did I spell that right?) isn't Talia al'Ghul in Dark Knight Rises. Granted, that would've been a great concept, but if she is, then it would be two confusion (already have two villains already).

  • @FlyingFocs three villians. Young Ras is in the movie played by Josh Pence.

  • @captcrais101 Actually, I just remembered that Cillian Murphy is going to reprise his role as Jonathan Crane/ Scarecrow, so there could possibly be... four villains.

Oh, this might be a problem.

  • @FlyingFocs His name is not in the movie database

  • @captcrais101 Yeah, I checked after what you said, and the only thing I could find was that he was apparently seen on set.

That was all I could find, but I don't think it leaves anything out, just as much as it doesn't confirm anything.

  • i could not get 15 min into this movie before i shut it off. i gave the blu ray disk to my parents. this movie what i saw of it was so brutally dry and what i saw of owen wilson was everything i hate about him had i seen it in theaters i would have demanded my money back

  • Looks good, but are there any birds in it?

  • thank god....i was waiting for this review for months! this is one of my favorite movies of 2011

  • Russian accent

in schmoville u watch movie after review

  • I was watchin this movie like Rachel is sexy as hell in this. My favorite characters were Loki and Kim from Scott Pilgrim. Alison Pill was really good in her parts and the whole movie is just beautiful. Owen Wilson and his nose were perfect for this movie!!

  • I saw it during the summer and I LOVED it. So wonderful. I also loved the message that your fantasy will never measure up to reality. Life is disappointing at times. You have to accept that and keep going.

  • Saw this the other day. I really liked it and would watch it again! I just wished Adrian Brody had more than one scene because his character was hilarious!!

  • this is the best woody allen film of recent memory. Are you guys comedians or what?

  • Mark! Omg! I love your shirt! Its amazing and for being a Doctor Who fan and a Winnie the pooh fan, your shirt speaks to me on a very joyous level. Please tell me where you got it! Its so awesome! I was like no freaking way! :D its adorable!

  • This is definitely one of my favorite Woody Allen movies. All the shots of Paris in the film were gorgeous.

  • Batman and Robin was badass. people don't get it was based off the old tv show not the comic books. at least Joel Schumacher has the balls to put robin in his batman movie unlike the GREAT (not really) Chris Nolan.

  • Aren't you guys also reviewing this now because of you newest podcast?

  • Is this anything like Timecop?

  • Dr WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I hope you review the actual movie whenever they make it....this looks ok I was skeptical but maybe ill rent this now

  • "how good did you da d think batman and robin", "dont worry about that" haha great vid guys ive been wanting to see this movie for months and i guess i still have to wait till its on t.v or something, keep it up guys

    your boy, Will

  • @schmoesknow I haven't seem a lot of Woody Allen movies but what do you mean by he backs off in this movie? What does be usually do?

  • intrigud by the good say on this movie.

  • Batman and Robin is better than the the dark knight easy. Yh jk

  • Lol @ the batman and robin thing!

  • Hye, yeah I saw Midnight in paris in late August when I was in Hollywood for a few days (isnt that where you live ellis) I liked it quite a bit but prefer quite a few other Allens (including some of his other recent ones) however id like to see nominations for writing and perhaps for some of the supporting roles.

  • I really love review. Riptappareal have some really great shirts. I would really like to know if they sell to the UK.

  • Magnificent Seven maybe lol?

  • Want to know something funny? I just got this from Netflix today! Now I'm really excited about seeing this! P.S. I actually went to Paris last June and I ate in the same restaurant that Ernest Hemingway and Jean Paul Sartre ate their lunches at regularly!!!

  • This was awesome! I'm glad they didn't try to explain how things were happening, and instead focused on the story and theme. Zelda Fitzgerald is my favourite.

  • i absolutely LOVED this movie, especially the bit with Louis Bunuel, but is anybody else tired of this "Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, cliché cliché" ? i know i am

  • Ellis I love your shirt where'd you get it? I must know. I love Doctor Who :D

  • @Rainstarx All of our amazing movie shirts come from RiptApparel, you can find the link to their site in the description. Great daily deals, let them know the Schmoes sent you!

  • @schmoesknow schmoes whats up were the seven McQueen,Coburn, Buchholz, Yul Brynner, Dexter, Vaughn and Bronson....i dont no could be

  • Loved it.

  • I loved this movie so much. One of my favorites of the year.

  • I heard take shelter is really good. You guys should check it out

  • I LOVED this movie! I thought it was a great idea for a movie! It was #6 on my top 10 of the year, Good to see you guys like it too! -ThatMovieNerd

  • Extremely dull. I really wanted to like it but couldn't. Owen Wilson and Marrion Cotillards' characters were in no way at all interesting.

  • I saw this the weekend it came out and enjoyed it.

  • I love this movie it's one of my favorits this year. I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did.

  • are the schmoes following the republican nominations?

  • THE T-SHIRT...

Rooster Cogburn, Doc Brown, Doc Hollyday, The man with no name (Or Joe, Manco and Blondie), Jonah Hex, The Lone Ranger and Yosemite Sam.

By the way i want this one!

  • Hemingway bitch.

  • great review guys! i totally agree! i love this movie and for some reason I really liked Tom Hiddleston this year. Between Thor, War Horse and this, he was great all throughout the year. also, did you guys end up seeing attack the block? i'm interested to see what you guys thought about it.

  • oh my god !

i can see myself through the TV !

    :D

  • hahaha Kristian has changed a LOT sense he had a child.

  • I loved this movie!! It was great escapisme, and Owen wilson wasn't obnoxious in this oné ;d. and it was just great fun!

  • Yeah, you take Harloff to Vegas, he'll probably go just to sleep in the hotel. I could not believe how much I liked this film. I mean, I didn't love it but for this is to be Woody Allen film and have me like it, that's really saying something. I remember watching this a while ago around 12 am (very appropriate) and feeling tired and I put this film on just to see how far I would get into it and I ended up watching the whole thing. Never thought I'd wanna see this again. Your review changed that.

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE BABY!

  • One of the best parts about this movie was the trailer; it didn't even give the slightest hint as to the movie's actual plot, so the viewer goes into it not expecting anything near what they get. Excellent.

  • Yay you guys FINALLY watched it haha. The rhinoceros!!!

  • Loved this movie

  • Midnight in Paris is my favorite movie of 2011. HANDS DOWN!

  • what would Doctor Pooh's Tadis be called? The Pawrdis? THe Honeyardis, THe Poohardis?

  • Wow, all I recognized were Doc Brown, Eastwood from Fistful of Dollars, and Yosemite Sam, lol. Anyway, this movie sounds very interesting so I'll definitely check it out. I actually like Owen Wilson, but the movies he's in are usually weak. btw Harloff, I've got family members who like every movie they see too (ex. Transformers 2), lol.

  • Along with Match Point, the vastly underrated Casandra's Dream and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, this was further proof that Woody Allen, now in his seventies, is enjoying a personal renaissance. Ever notice that the recent films he directed but isn't in are better than those in which he's also an actor? (Scoop) I loved Midnight in Paris. Right below The Tree of Life and Drive, this was one of my favorite films of 2011. Good to see you guys liked it.

  • I tough this one is the best from Woody Allen

  • Owen Wilson, I'm like you and on the fence, but I do keep my eye out for good performances. I'm now looking forward to seeing this one. :)

  • i'm happy you guys reviewed this! Its my favourite film of the year..not the best film, i can admit it, but it struck a chord with me as i could completely relate to the character and his obsession with a different time period

  • MiP was the biggest cinematic surprise I had had last year. Thought it would just be another one of these Woody Allen movies that are ok to watch, but nearly forgotten the minute you step out of the cinema. Instead it turned out that this is his best one since a long long time. Even Vicky Cristina Barcelona can hardly catch up to this. It creates a really comfortable mood and somehow made me constantly smile.

  • I love Woody Allen but this wasn't one of his best. Whenever he writes the "Woody Allen character" and then doesn't play it himself, it just never works for me. As good as Wilson was, he just can't sell those lines like Allen. Which is why I think his most successful films in the last 10 years (Match Point, Vicky Cristina Barcelona & Cassandra's Dream) work so well. There's no "Woody Allen character."

    D.A. of Schmoeville

  • @grindhouse141 Oh professor

  • @grindhouse141 I actually really liked Wilson as the main character. i just felt like i was watching woody allen through another body. and this movie is way more successful than match point, vicky cristina barcelona and cassandr'as. read reviews and check out the box office.

  • @okguy456 Sorry for the confusion, when I said "successful" I didn't mean box office, I just meant to me, personally, they were his best in the last 10 years. And I agree, Wilson was great, but there's just no substitution for Woody.

  • @grindhouse141 Okay that makes more sense..i loved all those movies btw. and of course! theres no way that he can replace Woody.

  • Haha, better late than never :) I loved this movie. The opening sequence was perfection. I don't know if you've ever been to Paris, but the movie captures it pretty damn perfectly.

  • Fell asleep during this movie. My worst of 25 movies I seen this year. Just couldn't stay engaged in it. Also didn't help that I quite dislike Owen Wilson.

  • havent seen it yet, but i want to though, it looks really good

  • I actually tried not to like this movie, but I failed, it lives such a nice warm feeling

  • I saw this when it first came out, and I went in knowing nothing about this movie. Which I'm glad I did, because this movie really surprised me, especially the story.

  • i can get it:

rooster cogburn, doc brown, doc holiday, joe from fistful of dollars, jonah hex, the lone ranger, and yosemite sam. BOOM.

  • @OneForTwoFilms NAILED IT

  • Now you guys got to convince Jeremy to see some of these movies.

  • @DAmicoJohnny Yeah he hasn't even reviewed Hugo yet. And he hated Drive.

  • @123rockfan He didn't hate it, he called it a Tour De Force. That means its good but didnt really entertain him.

  • The only one I recognized were Rooster from true grit but the rest just look like Red dead redemption characters. Sorry.

  • Never heard of it. Looks interesting, though.

  • Loved this movie! 4.5/5. Made it on my Top 10 for 2011.

  • saw it loved it 4.5/5

  • lol well its better LATE than NEVER was really looking forward to this review, i loved this movie and loved the review cheers lads

  • Comment removed

  • oh the one on the far right is the lone ranger

  • loved this film :) 4.5/5

  • i see rooster cogburn clint eastwood(man with no name) and lee van cleef (angel eyes) but other than that the shirt is too small, where can i find a picture? and to buy it

  • This might be my favorite movie I've seen this year so far. But I still haven't seen some stuff, like 50/50.

  • i didnt enjoy it as much as you two but its not really my kind of film i'd say 3.4/5

  • Great review as always! Gonna check this out soon also!

  • Marion Cotillard <3
