  • The world cry's out for the knowledge retained in the minds of our elderly. With two minute attention spans cultivated by the media and others. Our children suffer. I'm 62 and my first car was a 56 ford. Things were so simple in those days, that anyone that knew which end of a screw driver to use could keep them running. Anyone ever done a survey on how many of todays college grads know how to change the oil in their autos? By all means Charles share your memories. Peace from Isleton Ca.

  • My hero is myself.I am a selfish person.Naww I dont really have a hero.

  • That was uplifting to hear someone talk about a real American Hero.

  • Thanks Matthew. I'll let my grandfather know that.

  • Dan brown, pogobat on youtube.

  • I find it quite uplifting that you are able to connect with your relatives, respectively your grandfather. I, however, am not so gifted whereas my 'true' grandfathers have either died or gone amiss--out of the lives of my family.

Truthfully, I'd have to declare my 'Hero' as my teachers. Essentially, I am referring to the respective assigned professionals that have taught subjective curriculum to me in the past; however, I am mainly referring to my parents. They have shaped me to what I am.

  • Not to degrade myself in any sort of manner--but, I'd like to declare that the individual, founded in the middle of the picture [respectively, to the right (our right) of the surveying device], looks slightly similar to Owen Wilson. The picture I am referring to can be found at the 0:32/1:34 mark. :)

I just thought it'd be nice to make that subjective declaration, when necessary.

    Enjoy yourself.

  • Mr. Dale

You are rightfully proud of you Grandson David. He had people like YOU to inspire him.

I was in the service, and we had to march in parades on Memorial day, and that always ticked me off, that we...the soldiers, should have to 'work' on that day.

in meeting some of the folks who saved our future back in WWII, i was inspired to think differently about that day, and came to think of it as my day to "Celebrate" my contribution and our way of life.

I urge you to tell us your stories.

  • an hero

Serving so long and being a POW in Hanoi, This dear Armed Forces Member Is my Icon of a hero. The want a bees like myself who served but could'nt but could get drafted, is the way it was for Me. Don't be so nieve! When your young and heart you could get drafted and sacraficed for your nation. Even Nam Vets had bad hair days....

  • yeah i wanna hear ur grampa's stories mr c!

  • I agree with the people who want you to record the stories regardless of whether you post them or not.

Would be great to see some videos here, though!

  • I want him to tell those stories. You need to get the stories on vid. My grandfather just passed, and he was too young to go to the war. He had great stories and I was meaning to record them, but I can't now. Get those stories, even if he doesn't want them posted at least get them on tape!

  • Oh yes, he definitely needs to tell his stories!

In fact, even if you don't post it on YouTube, recording his stories for the future would be a good thing to do.

  • Do it! Do it! Do it!

  • get them fingers typin' gramps! looks like everyone wants to hear from ya'!

  • He sounds like an amazing man! You definitely look a lot like your grandfather!

  • Mr. Dale, I would love to hear some of your stories. If you would care to share them.
