No WORDS should have provoked the DD - the person who hired her had the responsibility to insure she was psychological fit for the job - Major Fail. As 2 keeping prisoners under control they ARE under control. There's accepted ways 2 prank a prisoner - but a thumping isn't 1. Psychopathological'n'criminal - D.D. lost her humanity & went monkey. @maconsumner I hope you do realize that not all people in jail are dirtbags. As there have been cases of false arrest. I agree that it would be hard to deal with drunk belligerent people, but "words" are not a crime and the CO's are paid to remain professional. So if they can't do the job, then they need to step down. Again, I do agree that it is a very difficult job, but you have to remember that we are innocent until proven guilty - or at least, that's what we are taught.

@1775novten I always hear people tell me that they are paid to be professional when dealing with the irrational stupidity. Guess what, sheriffs and police officers don't get paid like you think they do and they are in much more danger from the public than the public could ever dream of being of them. I toughly understand the bill of rights when it comes to this issue. The goal of most law enforcement officers is to go home unhurt, keeping absolute control of these people,

@maconsumner I know they don't get paid that good, but nor do I believe public servants should be paid very well. I wasn't paid well to serve in the Marine Corps and risk my life for our country either, but I was paid good enough. Yet, I was held and held junior Marines to an extremely high level of professionalism when dealing with civilians. I agree the ultimate goal is to come home safe and that prob at least 90% of those in jail are drunk douchebags or career criminals, but some are not.

@1775novten I did 20 years in the Navy as a SWCC, 2 tours in Iraq. That is a much different situation though and I think without a doubt that we agree about that. I also know many people who have been in jail at one point or another also. To a person they tell me the same thing, "keep your mouth shut and do what you are told and you will have no problems in there from the corrections officers" Each one of these vids are examples of what happens when you don't follow that advice.

I initially thought you were saying that all people in jail should just be mulched to save the hassle and money, but it appears that you were just referring to the "drunk, irrational shit balls!!!!". I have two friends that are in the sheriffs office here locally and they say that 99% of the injured prisoners are injured by other prisoners. The other one percent are prisoners that resist and those who self inflict injury. It's funny when people blame the officers for their injuries when you consider these stats.

If you've never been to jail you might not realize how harshly the guards deal with even the slightest hesitation to follow their commands. They are trained to treat any lack of cooperation as aggression. So if you don't stand up fast enough you may as well have smacked their face.

I believe the line of response should be stricter in jail than in public, but the line they're given lends too much power for most individuals to wield.

@realdeal0083 Hardly, the average national response time is 7 mins. And in your case you'd have a whole team of cops and crime scene teams at your home. And once you file a police report about your stolen car- they'll open an investigation into finding where your car is- and chances are you'll get your car back. 79% of stolen cars are retrieved by the police in the first 6 days of their investigation. Look that up if you don't believe me.

I just would like to say what assholes work at Orient Road Jail. The officers there try to make everyone feel like crap and it is because they are losers for the most part who are probably deep inside suicidal and hate their lives - I would too if I made like 40,000 a year or whatever they make

I used to live in Hillsborough County myself, once upon a time. What can I say? Florida is a screwed up place. Not that these problems aren't nationwide, but I would expect them to be particularly atrocious in Florida, and it seems I'm unlikely to be proved wrong in that regard.
