I remember news footage of the SAS on a land rover patrol in Sierra Leone in 2000. The SAS saw the cameras and threatened to smash them up. The SBS seem a little less camera shy at times.

Last year Australian PM John Howard was on a Hercules which had smoke in the cabin. When they landed there was a film crew showing him and his protection detail which was SASR coming out of the plane. Nice close up of the lads. The minimal age is 22 to try out for selection...so it is possible, they look like they are in their early to mid twenties.

I doubt that they are SBS because of their appearance, most Special Forces troops are aloud to grow facial hair or even have longish hair, in order to blend into civilian life, if they were to go under cover.
