hey if you have the chance, please let me know what kind of accuracy you get with that at 100 yards. I am considering picking one up. thanks for your time.
@labartic I have posted 8" groups at 1,000 yards off that bipod and a Tasco Targetmaster scope using 600 Gr bronze Barnes-X hollow point TTI Armory loads, of the five rounds, 4 were in a 5 inch pattern, two in the bull's eye 2" apart. Rattlesnake Mountain Range, Benton City, WA. Superb firearm for any amount of money, never breaks a scope, never harsh recoil. (obviously) :-D
@zmadpoet8 my team routinely practices on playing cards at 1000... and I never I never mentioned an AR-10, the AR-10 is the .308 version of of the standard AR-15 style rifle... so yeah, no points for your knowlege there. And Barretts are commonly used in competition, with several standard models, and a few custom models. So again, no points for you. But none of that adresses the points I brought up... all in all, you've failed pretty hardcore.
@zmadpoet8 Well that is highly dependent on environmental conditions. Usually within 3 shots. But even the best shootists have their off days. I can, however, once properly sighted in, hit a human head sized target consistantly at 1000, wind conditions providing. Though gust prediction is borederline impossible lol, I've had days i could hit a buick due too gusting winds.
What you call a "real gun" is more commonly known as impractical. Aside from the fun of it, most people would have no purpose whatsoever to spend a few grand on a 50 BMG behemoth, and if a person were to do so, it would make more sense to spend a little more to get something of higher value, such as the AR-50, or a Barrett, or other such, well known, brands. Calling it a "real gun" Is like screaming, "I have a tiny dick!" Lol I can hit soda cans out too 1000 yards with my .308 thank you.
@RebelRabbit308 First of all, the AR-10 is 10 lbs heavier, and has a long track record of being hard on scope reticles, the Barrett is nice, but it is a battle grade weapon with a larger, looser firing chamber instead of a match grade chamber, which is why the Serbu is more accurate than either gun you mentioned. As for hitting a soda can at a 1000 yards, nigga please, the world record for .308 at 1000 yards is something like 5 plus inches with a 50 lb rifle. I can beat that on a bad day.
@zmadpoet8 no, actually don't just look up stuff about them, wait till you've tried other guns before commenting, it's nice you have a .50cal and all, but it's pointless, there's no armored vehicles filled with terrorists in the united states. and there's no need for shooting over a mile here. also the barrett can have a 2.5lbs trigger installed, have a heavy match barrel installed, and have a bolt lock so that you can choose to fire single or semi-auto.
@zmadpoet8 also a .308 would blow a guys head off at 1000yds under the use of an expirienced marksmen, or anybody who knows there way around it. an average head is about 8"x8" and most people shoot right through the face, that's even smaller. last the .308 has never come in a 50lbs platform, except mounted ones. but an 8lbs rifle will mostlikely do the same as a 50lbs one. the most a .308 comes in is 10lbs for a sporting gun and 30lbs for a sniper gun
I tried to order one of these rifles and decided to get a Barrett. I think Serbu (the company that made the rifle in the video) is a couple of part-timers working out of a garage in Florida. ZERO customer service.
I believe that 4 round grouping was from around 200 yds or so last time i checked it. It's about a 1 M.O.A. Rifle in stock form past 1000 yards. U can't beat the price though and compared to others .50's in that price range it is worth it. Your right.....get them while u can because the day is coming when u won't be able to. Say hi to the Cambodian wife also. LOL
The quality is flawless, I have a buddy who owns the carbine version, he bought it after firing one shot from mine. The carbine is 5 lbs lighter but you sacrifice a little range. The wife fits nicely on the case because she is only 9 inches longer than the rifle, the case is the one Mark Serbu shipped the rifle in. I reccomend the Newcon Optic LRB 7x50 rangefinder, very nice, very accurate. My wife put 4 of 4 rounds thru a gallon milk jug at 600 yards that day.
Catchy serial #! :) Didn't notice your wife was in the case the first time, got a chuckle out of that. Serbu seems like a good guy and the price is right...better get 'em while we can. :)
I own BFG#357, I have put several hundred rounds thru it, I have fired 8 inch 5 shot groups at 1000 yards with TTI 600 gr bronze loads using only a bipod and a $125 Tasco scope. The biathlon harness you see makes packing it a piece of cake, and was very easy to adapt. I have fired 8 .50s, and shopped for 10 years, the Serbu is the best money I ever spent on a firearm by far. (The boots are from Victoria's Secret)
Drewnickel is obviously intimidated and threatened by large weapons.

The gun is about the cost of smoking two packs of cigarettes a day for a year, only after the year, you get to keep the gun.

Feed her? I have been fattening her up since she came to America, she went from 74 to 81 lbs in 3 years ;-0

It is good you have a woman who will share your hobby with you. Now, go feed her a sandwich. That gun weighs as much as she does.
