Hey Guys, great vid but when you apply the pvc glue do the inside 1st then the outside of the other piece, that way you don't set it down & risk getting the glue on stuff or dirt mixed in there.

just so everyone knows... if you want a more comfortable ignition handle, take tthe same sparker and just drill two little holes for the wires and then you can electrical (not duct tape) it and have a comfortable, maneuverable handle

@buckyrob04 don't put wiring inside the pipe, it will get damaged, but use long screws drilled through the side into the pipe, then attach the wiring to the screwhead thats outside the pipe. Keep looking at other vids, I found how to do this in another video on here, wish I knew which one.

@vans PVC glue will only work with PVC piping and same goes for abs piping. Abs piping is black and PVC is white. It is best to use PVC piping because abs piping is not pressure tested and PVC is pressure tested.

@rockzilla8 On your ignitor there is a piece of rectangular metal. That is used to hold the trigger in place from the inside. If you take it off you'll figure out how it works rather quickly. Makes it easier if you ever have to change the trigger.

you can get amazing things like rifled barrels for potato guns and not risk having fliers that can go into something you don't want it to, like a window. so if you want safety, add a rifled barrel, and it has an added benift of making it much more accurate too, so you can hit what your aiming for

You put the wires through the hole and THEN crimp then and glue the ignition in position, this cuts out having to attempt to reconnect them inside the combustion chamber.

mate. dont worry about their presise measurements, all you need to worry about is that the barrel is about the width to fit a tennis ball (or a bit smaller) and the chamber is almost double that width (but lots shorter)

It's a bbq starter. You can get the starter at any hardware store that sells bbq stuff. You can find it in the bbq section of the hardware store.

Me an my bro in law made a potato canon (Check mathew1023... in my friends video "POTATO CANON 0002") We used a grill igniter, it works pretty well but its dulling out. We are going to get an electric one to that does a constant spark when the button is held down, so more likely for a boom then a single spark. Most igniters come cheap $15-$30 :)

You can buy the "spark generator" it's actually a BBQ ignition. You can find it in the BBQ section, or propane area of a hardware store, Like Home Depot, Lowe's. After the video i made the wiring look like a spark plug on a car. So you only really need one wire about 2 to 3 inches and attach it to the side of the BBQ ignition. Hope that helps

ABS pipe and PVC pipe are different. PVC is white. You are using ABS, but you say you are using PVC in the video. ABS is stronger and doesn't shatter as easily as PVC.

Thats the basics, there are several variations or this. And any thing works as a payload, apples, pears, oranges, patatoes, and so on. Widen the gas side and narrow the payload pipe for a really powerful laucher. Be careful a tight payload can make the gas side blow apart.
