I recently was one of the lucky 20 winners of the first ever youtube creators contest! I just want to point out that I'm really lucky but I'm also a very small tiny youtuber too. I agree with you 100% there is alot wrong with youtube but at the same time there is alot thats rite too, youtube lets us upload vids on there site for free which is awesome & the fact that I won this contest is like a shining example of that I think . So there is still some hope for the little guy afterall=)

You're so right, there's a million different reasons why the community isn't growing. There's no one person/people to blame HOWEVER I think we all can agree that we want some kind of change and there is certainly strength in numbers. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this and be a part of the community again :)
but you should also think about people like Mysteryguitarman, he love editing and he love doing all those green screens ... and he did it even when he had 100 views..
@rqax I don't dislike people who use those effects, I think they're amazing! It's just not my thing.. it's not what I do. I love me some Strawburry17... she uses some crazy green screen magic!

I agree with everything you said, I really miss the old community atmosphere youtube had back in the day. There's definitely been a shift in content over the past 2 years or so. Everything's about tricking people with false titles and images for videos that sometimes have nothing to do with anything, as well as the obsession with likes and favorites. The reason I don't keep going is because I don't feel that sense of community anymore.
This all is pretty much my sentiment too. However I remember the low-tech days of YouTube and that to me is YouTube! :D
