I can’t say I have any experience with “mall goths”, we don’t have them where I come from, and I have to admit I can never really understand peoples wishes to buy a complete uniform, but I promise, if my friends and I could have had the opportunity to buy pieces from say HM’s Salander collection, we would, cos it was a bloody battle to piece together whatever look we envisioned, the fishnet stockings was not really a deliberate fashion choice it was the only way to get what you wanted.

And don’t be so bloody pretentious about the whole “gothiness thing”, it’s not about inner darkness, being “evil” and comparing emotional scars, what is valuable is the humour, independence and acceptance. And embracing goes badly with judging people in or out based on where they shop or how many and which bands they have found managed to find this far. People come and people go, some are for life and some just take something with them when they move on.

When I took my first shaky steps in pointy boots CXS where a fairly new band, so they will never be old school to me, but that was over 15 years ago… so… Go to WGT and I’m sure a bunch of the fifty year olds, who where original fans of Bauhaus etc would find some of the bands I consider “old bands” rather newfangled.

If you look up Ravnos in the original Vampire the Masquerade , you will see how this song is amazingly fitting for them.
