I always love The Nestle Alpine White Commercials. The One I liked the most is a woman out in the snow with a full fur coat on,It's snowing and they show White wolves. Cant' seem to find that one
I'm 30, so I think this came out when I was 4 or 5. I don't like candy, but this song pops into my head every week. I think I always wanted to be as dramatic as this commercial!
I was 5 when this came out and thought it was so epic and romantic... I thought about what my adulthood would be like; riding white horses on the alps and wearing fair isle sweaters with some gorgeous mystery man by a fire.
The "mystery man" would turn out to be my city bus driver boyfriend. I hate the taste of white chocolate, sweaters make me itch, and the fireplace is always broken. I'm still pretty happy in this adulthood. :) God, looking back on it though--what a lame commercial.
@jbbraham YEs, and the car you drive is made in Japan, the gas it consumes is from an arab country, the coffee you drink is from COlombia and your clothes and shoes in CHina. I guess I don't follow you.
This is awesome. Just commented on the alternate version (for the regular chocolate). I reiterate the best song for a commercial ever. Like a lot of people here I still remember this melody and the lyrics even since I was a preteen.
Jesus, this damn commercial has been haunting me since I was a teen. I'll be a thousand miles away in my head and this damn song will come up. Cream white, dreamy white. I've had a thing for white chocolate ever since.
@major600 yes I did. The commercial is what made me want to try it...and I'm very glad I did. I used to LOVE this candy bar. THEY NEED TO BRING THEM BACK!!!
I remember begging my mother to get me this chocolate bar on the strength of this song and it was nasty as hell....the Nestle's white chocolate song >>>> the product. YUCK!!!!!
Man, my 8-year old self used to get just -incensed- when I caught the other version of this commercial that switched up the lyrics. It HAD to be this one that goes "creamy white, dreamy white", definitely NOT the other "creamy white, Alpine white" one. My issues go waay back. lol
Don't know why, but this commercial reminds me of the movie "Legend" with Tom Cruise. Specifically, it reminds me of the song "Is your Love Strong Enough" by Brian Ferry (which was used in the soundtrack of that movie). The visuals of this commercial also remind me of some of the scenes (dreamy, fantasy themes) in that same movie.
@javarox this song has played in my head randomly from time to time for over 20 years and now i've finally found it. its funny that you mention 'Legend' cuz it's my favorite movie ever
@javarox i know right, that was an awesome soundtrack....check out firestarter;s theme from the same ppl ' tangerine dream', theyve got a whooooole load of sexy stuff, lol
this video is also a response to the influence MTV had at the time (visuals/sound...it all had to flow). Great period piece commercial. Thanks for uploading
omg,i love this commercial, so peaceful and serene, what great memories from the 80's, i loved that candy bar as well, i can almost remember what it tasted like, why did nestle stop making it, the older candy bars nd drinks like tab and whatchamacallit still exist
OMG!! I was going through some photos I took from 1998 or so and came across one I took of my TV screen. It was of a woman walking through snow-covered terrain. I instantly remembered it was from Nestle white choc. commercial. I had it on VHS and used to watch it over and over. What a memory! I can't believe I found one of the videos. And right when the song came on, ohhh super flashback! Thanks!
I remember a documentary on VH1 that said that the lady from this commercial was now working for Cosmo magazine. I'm pretty sure it's the lady from :27. if that helps?
Omg! Just the memories of Christmas when I was like 7 years old give me tears. I miss these years! Love this commercial and the commercial of the 80s.
lol...white people in white flowing robes eating white chocolate complete with snow and a roman column in the middle of the Rhinelands ...sounds like Hitlers lost dream of the future :p
Read Polar Institute files on Nestle and how this organisation collaborated and benefited from Nazi regime. Once a COLLABORATER, always a COLLABORATER
this was my favorite song in the 80s when i was a teenager and now i am 43 and just love itttt it sends off a heavenly vide for me thanks u tube and it reminds me of jesus, and the angels, thanks you tube (THE BAHAMAS)
I was 16 years old when this commerical came out, and I've always loved it; it's my favorite commercial of all time, and I never forgot it. I didn't think I'd ever see it again, but thank goodness for You Tube! I want to go live in Nestle White Chocolate Land!
I didn't even remember seeing this commercial before but I sang along with every word. Funny how things like that stick in our head and we don't even realize it.
Like others, this commercial and song has haunted me forever and comes in my head every now and then. I think this song will stay with me until the day I die. I find it strange to be drawn to this so much, it's almost hypnotic.
l remember this song to from way back when. lt just came to me today, and l had to search this commercial. And just listening to it, always made me think White Chocolate was sexxxy. lm 29 myself, about to be 30, and it took me back to a happier time of being a child. When did this Commercial first air???
i stumbled on this by accident and just had to comment since oviously i'm not alone. i always remembered that song and commercial for years. i never forgot it. i'm 28 now and i can still hear the song and taste the chocolate. alpine white was actually my favorite candy bar. what the hell happened? did they quit making them? the closest thing i can find now is the white nestle's crunch. not near as good
LOL, now that I'm seeing this commercial as an adult, I have to say that it is kinda racy(as many others have noted). I still like it though (I just wish they still made the chocolate!)
the only white-chocolate Nestle bar that I've seen -imported- to the United States from Brazil is the Nestle Crunch Blanco (Nestle Crunch White).
No sign of Alpine White anywhere on the planet. Though, it actually is easy to replicate. Just buy Nestle White Chocolate chips, melt it down, pulse some sliced almonds in a food processor until they become a coarsely chopped. Mix almonds into the melted white bliss and let set in a candy mold.
Thank you for posting this...when I was younger I video taped this commercial and watched it over and over again!!! Sad I know but I love this song!!!!
I love when people recognize the Parrish references in this commercial. They were beautifully executed too, even with the lovely 80's fashions on the "Daybreak" guy. LOL :)
Thank you, elithecat, for posting my very most favorite 80's ad of all time!!!
I tried to replicate it... Nestle Tollhouse white chocolate chips, melted, finely chopped almonds (toasted for a stronger flavor). Placed in a candy bar mold. Nothing special, really. But the chocolate didn't have the "Alpine-aroma" to it. So, I went ahead and substituted with other truly Alpine chocolate bars made of pure white chocolate and Alpine milk. (Ritter Sport, Milka, etc)....... much closer to how the real "Alpine White" bar was. For the Ritter Sport, I removed the hazelnuts.
Apologize to Jessy Jackson? There is something wrong with this! All black colleges, Nigro College Fund, Quansa. Miss Black America. WHY?
Whites do not have these and if they did the blacks would be all over the whites. This is all nonsense. We are all the same inside. that is what's wrong with this world.
Jesse Jackson, and other black leaders that pull that shit need a good bearing along with white leaders that pull the same thing ! Thanks
Man, all I can say is wow. Talk about a flash from the past. This video made me cry because it just brought back so many memories of 1985-89. Plus, the music is still as haunting as ever.
This is so cheeeeeeeeeeesy and lame that it is funny. Its like a bad poser band's video from MTV during the 1980's. You have to admit though as cheeesy as the song is, it is catchy N-E-S-T-L-E-S.....lol.
hahaha was he really spelling nestle out in his song...this is just as bad as thos aqua whatever commercials...I think it was an after shave or something
So awsome. Its like the first taste of new age stuff when i heard it. But, theres another commercial from the early 90s Summual adams and its a acoustic guitar instrumental , a guy in his office or something. wonder if you found it, Thanks Guam U.S.A.......
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this! Wow , i just glanced through the previous 100+ comments & can't believe that this commercial has stuck in so many other people's minds, as well. As i was falling asleep last night, the song came into my mind out of NOWHERE and i thought, "i'll have to look that up on youtube." I probably haven't seen this since age 9 or so, and i was shocked that i could remember the lyrics almost perfectly...wow, talk about great advertising. Thanks again.
So Awesome - i just read the rest of the posts and now see how many other people had that dang song stuck in their head for 20 years too! i thought i was a little crazy. i would straight sing it out loud like a true song sometimes too! lol. never shared that til now! so cool :)
it's hilarious that i can look this up and see so many other people share the memory enough to the point where even more than one person has posted it. i never would have thought! i never forgot this cheesy commercial! i loved the song and it would always pop in my head throughout the years. crazy. thanks to youtube we can flash that far back just for a favorite commercial :) Love the 80s. thx for posting.
I still do to! LOL, This song sounds like Tears for Fears wrote it...I have always hummed this song..weird how some little jingles anchor into your consciousness!
I so could have written that post exactly as you just did. Yes, I have occasionally walked into a store, seen something by Neste, and went, in my head "Neste's makes the very best: N-E-S-T-L-E-S. Sweet dreams -- you can't resist." It was like traveling back in time for a moment. I don't remember the commercial's images being quite so suggestive, though the lyrics are a little hint at it, so I guess it shouldn't surprise me.
As I said elsewhere...I agree that the song is haunting and has a way of sticking in your mind...I was captured by the audio version of the commercial as a radio announcer in the 80's. I love the smooth, transfixing melody and I do wish a recording artist would make an extended version of it...heck, I'd buy a copy!
I don't get that "internet lurker" screaming bit at the end, though...kinda ruins it...it that really needed?
I used to love these candy bars in the 90's..50 cents from the local store, till one day they were discontinued, what a bummer..I love this song, I'm singing aloud! Creamy whiiiite!
They don't make it (sigh)....you can easily duplicate the recipe at home. Melt white chocolate chips, mix in toasted almonds spread on a cookie sheet and chill. I recently made white chocolate soap and hand cream- pm me for recipe!
This is one of the most flawless commercials I have ever seen...beautiful song...beautiful scenery...beautiful models. Beautiful, flawless, and timeless.
I said it before and I'll say it again the girl in 0:16 is really beautiful. Although I got to enjoy the Nestles Alpine White when I was only five I vividly remember it as the best candy bar produced by the top commercial chocolate makers.
I always love The Nestle Alpine White Commercials. The One I liked the most is a woman out in the snow with a full fur coat on,It's snowing and they show White wolves. Cant' seem to find that one

cindel500 2 years ago
Man, all I can say is wow. Talk about a flash from the past. This video made me cry because it just brought back so many memories of 1985-89. Plus, the music is still as haunting as ever.

This is so cheeeeeeeeeeesy and lame that it is funny. Its like a bad poser band's video from MTV during the 1980's. You have to admit though as cheeesy as the song is, it is catchy N-E-S-T-L-E-S.....lol.

I can't believe I've never seen this. Look up Maxfield Parrish. This commercial is an homage to his paintings.
Sort of cheesy, yeah, but in a glorious 80s way.
Does Nestle still sell white chocolate?

Best. Nestles. Candy. Bar. Ever. With a bottle of cranberry juice. Snack time at the community theater when I was a teenager.

It's a shame commercials don't use catchy jingles like this any more.
20 years later and I STILL get this Nestle jingle stuck in my head from time to time.
c0deMunkey 3 years ago 4
I still do to! LOL, This song sounds like Tears for Fears wrote it...I have always hummed this song..weird how some little jingles anchor into your consciousness!
catgumart 3 years ago 3

Creamy whiiiite!

ravner1976 3 years ago
They don't make it (sigh)....you can easily duplicate the recipe at home. Melt white chocolate chips, mix in toasted almonds spread on a cookie sheet and chill. I recently made white chocolate soap and hand cream- pm me for recipe!

This is one of the most flawless commercials I have ever seen...beautiful song...beautiful scenery...beautiful models. Beautiful, flawless, and timeless.
Wila38 3 years ago 4
I said it before and I'll say it again the girl in 0:16 is really beautiful. Although I got to enjoy the Nestles Alpine White when I was only five I vividly remember it as the best candy bar produced by the top commercial chocolate makers.
