  • very imformative...im replacing the stator in a 04 f7 firecat sno pro for the first time,as a rookie how long would it take me to replace and if i send it for a professional to do how long would it take him?...once again ,your very good at what you do.thank you.

  • have a 99 powder speceal and was told to drill some holes in the stator houseing to keep the stator from burning up. where do you drill these holes? Todd

  • Drilling holes does nothing to help.

  • How do you put the timing right on it?

  • On most Cats you just bolt everything on and the timing is on. There is no adjustment. Some models including some race model Cats do have adjustable timing that is uaually advanced or retarded by moving the stator mounting plate.

  • Thanks for the help! I have a 1983 yamaha vmax that hasnt started in over 8 years when i took it in for inspection they told me the stator was bad but i had no clue what it was so i never tried to fix it now im planning on getting it running agan but its going to be very hard to find a stator for this old of a model can i send it into you to get it rewound?

  • I pretty much just handle 1993-2002 Cats for now.

  • do u have to retime the flywheel when putting it al back together i still have no spark 96 zrt 800 sat for 2 yrs thanks

  • Not on a 1996 ZRT 800. The flywheel only does on one way and the trigger is located on top in a fixed position.

  • I am unfamiliar with the Yamaha SX triple, but usually the wiring harness goes towards the motor and through some sort of opening in both the stator mounting plate and the stator housing to help hold it in position..

  • I dont know if you can help me or not. I have a 1998 yamaha vmax sx 700 triple and I didn't mark where the old stator was and now to put the new one on I'm lost. It has three mounting holes like the one in your video. But looks like you can bolt it up a couple different ways. Should the ignition coils be facing the magnetic pick-up coil?
