Man Im a huge Penn State Fan but im a realist first there hasn't been a stand out pro linebacker in the nfl in years from penn state Lavarr proved that he coudn't read and cover passes for nothing in the pros... different level of speed oyea they can stop the run but when you line up with speed there dead in ther tracks that why USC exposed them, they seen there mix matched and ran away with the score...and at the end of he year you will see this

Had a great year. We lost on the road to a very underrated Iowa team and in our bowl to in my opinion the best team in the country this year. We became the first team to beat OSU, Wisconsin, and Michigan in consecutive weeks. With a friendly schedule, I see a 10-win 2009.

we showed the heart of a champion all season long. no matter what, we were always the front runner, we played hard all season long and everything the program fell into place. our best performance hands down was against msu when we dropped 49 points on them by passing the ball the entire game. not to mention hold jevon ringer to his worst game of the season, that was really what put us in the drivers seat. we couldnt finish the job however were still the team to beat heading into 09!

USC and Florida are the two teams in the country that I feel that Penn State couldn't matchup with being that they are the two best teams in the land. Penn State could've handled Texas, put up a fight with Oklahoma, and any other team, besides USC and UF. USC clearly showed that they were the better team. I told you that the Oregon St win over USC would not directly factor in the Rose Bowl outcome, hence your original "PSU over OSU, OSU over USC = PSU over USC has now been PROVEN bullshit. The game was decided on the field and the better team won just like OSU was the better team the day they played USC.

I mostly agree, but I don't know if Oregon State really was the better team when they played USC. I've seen lots of times where the better team loses (for example, Ohio State looked like the better team against Texas and PSU looked like the better team against Iowa, and not just because PSU was 9-1 and Iowa 6-4), but the team who plays the best game that day wins. But I have a feeling he posted that semi-satirically in response to all the "we beat Ohio St more impressively so we win" comments.

If you were to go up and down the rosters, USC and Penn St. would have more skilled players than OSU or Iowa, however, my point is that OSU and Iowa played better for 60 minutes and deserved to win. That is true, sometimes the best teams have the worst days and a less skilled team has a better day. I still don't know what happened with Iowa, though. Penn State vastly outgained Iowa in both halves and had the ball for what seemed like another hour. But those things I guess are part of the game. It's kind of like when I work out, every now and then I get a miserable day, even by off-day standards.

I wouldn't mind so much if he left earlier in the season or after the Rose Bowl, but leaving before the bigggest game Penn State has had in a long time makes Devlin look like a quitter. My biggest worry with Devlin gone is what will happen if Clark gets injured.
