What about Christian churches which are made up of small pockets of believers who meet on a Sunday and worship Jesus. Even the pastor being a married man with children, his 9-5 job being a delivery man. Nothing organised here. We believe religion is man made. The beliefs of God organised and controlled which has bits of Truth amongst alot of nonsense.

Well done! My question is off topic but am curious in the case of the death of Dorothy Stang, a nun, in the Amazon a few years ago. I look for the rcc to canonize this woman (she's from my home town) but am wondering the truth about why she (any nun or priest for that matter) are there in the first place. Any good books I could read about the rcc in South America?

You Look for her to be canonized??? What's that worth? The RCC has a history of canonizing people who have allied themselves with criminals. They canonized Teresa of Calcutta who was associated with thieves, robbers, spies, corrupt leaders, liars, murderers, and child molesters! Look at Pious XII! He was in league with Hitler the most heinous genocidal murderer, and theyve been trying to make him a saint for years. For what? So Catholics can pray to them for intercession to God? How absurd!

You have TOTALLY misinterpreted my remark. I am ex-rcc, a saved bible believer and have nothing but contempt for the rcc. I DO "look for" (NOT forward to!) the woman's cannonization. My home town is mostly rcc, has a world-class "mary" library (University of Dayton, OH) and this woman has a tombstone already set apart in a large catholic cementery here. (I see dollar signs). Sooner or later the "pilgrims" will come here. I ask you again, any good books about the rcc in South America?

Thanks for clarifying. The Real Odessa by Uki Goñi fills in important gaps regarding their underhanded habits! Found this interesting bit: While the local people called her Dora or "the angel of the Trans-Amazonian", loggers and other opponents called her a "terrorist" and accused her of supplying guns to the peasants. It wouldnt be the first time the RCC used their influence to instigate juntas under the guise of caring for the poor. A movie about her is scheduled to be released in May 2009.

No action, no comment that I know of... The Pope is just as guilty as he is, as the Vatican is directly connected with the removal of those criminals to other countries in order for them to avoid prosecution for their crimes.

Excommunication - depriving someone from eating a round cracker is hardly a just punishment for mass murder!! The Law of God is clear on what is to be done with anyone who takes another man's life. He shall surely be put to death!

The Catholic Church has an awful lot of blood on its hands. Sure, there have been individual acts of bravery and kindness by priests and nuns, particularly in WWII, on behalf of the Jews and other victims. But on the whole the Pope stood aside and allowed mass murder to take place.

Remember, Hitler and most of his gang of cut throats were Catholics, yet to my knowledge not one of them was ever excommunicated. Amazing, but true.

The ones doing the excommunicating are just as guilty as the ones who actually pulled the triggers, the Vatican and Hitler's Third Reich shared an utter disdain for Jews. This is the reason why the Pope didn't raise a pinky to stop the atrocities during WWII.

You'll not find much there for me to disagree with. My point was that the Church surely should have excommunicated them, even after their death, to at least try to dissociate themselves with the evils.

I've no doubt the old Christian adage that the Jews killed Jesus comes into it somewhere. It might have seemed an easy option to let Hitler do the dirty work for them.

It was Origen who wrote "The blood of Jesus falls not only on the Jews of that time, but on all generations of Jews up to the end of the world." This is one of the "church fathers"!!!

It's impossible for them to dissociate themselves from those evils because they were behind it! The Vatican has tried to distance itself from the Nazis publicly, but behind the scenes, they offered shelter, travel documents, clothing, and escape routes to help murderers avoid persecution.

Yeah its a great book called "A Woman Rides The Beast" by Dave Hunt... goes into detail about the vatican "rat lines" they used to smuggle out nazis out of europe under disguise as priests etc to get them to south america, where the vatican already had a strong church going to hide them in.

Sounds interesting, there are various books on that topic, one that I found very informative is by Uki Goñi have you read that one? He does a good job of connecting dots that historians have neglected for years. He was given access to Vatican files not available to the public when he was trying to exonerate Pious XXII, but instead found very condemning evidence! You've gotta check it out.
