  • Who gives a fuck about Marty's haircut,he is guitar god

  • Marty GAY MODE ON.

  • Mustaine god! hammett is stupid at his side...

  • Comment removed

  • I love martys solo work and i love that hes having fun, even envy him. Hes huge in japan, But his shows aren't nearly as big now as they used to be when he was with Megadeth. It's kind of sad to see that. But I guess every great musician rises and falls.

  • little known fact: dimebag almost joined megadeth but he insisted on his brother coming with him and Megadeth had already chosen Nick Mensa so they had to balk

  • why is dave wearing sweatpants?

  • @thrashaholoc666 because sweatpants are fucking metal

  • uncle marty

  • megadeth is so good live!

  • MARTY FRIEDMAN

  • dude shut the hell up the 90s were more metal than ever

  • @nomadic30 fucking a 97 98 99 and oooooh up to 2002 were shit years for metal. early to mid 90s were awesome though.

  • ummm iron maiden ???? it was megadeth and expecially Slayer that had alot to do with the resurgence

  • @MrDcmetal666 Iron Maiden played a major role in the resurgence with Brave New World and the reunion of the "classic" lineup in 1999. Sure, Slayer played a part in it too, but Iron Maiden started the revival.

  • @nomadic30 Thats right, Iron Maiden saved it with Pantera.

  • watching megadeth play their music is always an amazing thing.

  • too many haircuts

  • @nomadic30 Not exactly, famous metal bands were the ones who went downhill at the late 90's. but for example, Judas Priest still released some really good material with Ripper Owens, and some bands, especially Power Metal bands like Helloween or Gamma Ray were at their peak with albums like Better than Raw or Powerplant, and also, there's Death, which released what probably are some of the best albums in the history of the genre

  • God evening.

  • @nomadic30 Pantera and Maiden...those guys saved the entire genre

  • no menza "sad but true"

  • @nomadic30 your an idiot for saying that. iron maiden is a good band but there were still good acts in the late 90s. one instance is PANTERA!

  • Lol Marty fucked up the first solo xD Ah..who cares, it's still Marty Friedman! We love you!

  • is tht menza?

  • @AMbassndrums on drums? Nope. It's Jimmy DeGrasso. Wish it was Menza though.

  • @xFadexToxNeonx3 hell yeah menza waas a god

  • @AMbassndrums yes, yes he was. one of my favorite drummers ever (:

  • Best line-up.

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi what about menza?

  • @AMbassndrums Yeah, you're right. I kind of put both drummers on the same level but for different reasons I guess. Nick was ferocious, but Jimmy did a great job stepping into the role and was a tight player.

To be honest, my comment was more of a dig at the current line-up, which I think is weak sauce. Basically a Megadeth cover band now...

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi yea jimmy did do good.. and u hav a great point when u say its a cover band...chris and shawn are good but theyll never be poland, samuelson, freeman, menza, pitrelli really any of them

  • @AMbassndrums Yeah, I'm not knocking their skill, they wouldn't have gotten the job if they were incompetent, but none of them wrote the original stuff.

It makes a difference to me.

  • what would this world be without megadeth

  • At 0:57 Dave almost hit the camera

  • @nomadic30 thank god for maiden and brave new world cd...and megadeth of course

  • This is when megadeth opened for Iron Maiden right or am i wrong? Megadeth and Iron maiden it cant get any better than that...

  • @skaterobban as far as i know, megadeth were the last band, that played woodstock 99.

  • is he marty friedman ?

  • @tripanazo With Megadeth for the last time.....

  • @tripanazo yeah i know, worst haircut every!! (for him)

  • John 5 can kick friedmans ass

  • @nomadic30

    UP THE IRONS!!! :D

  • @sf987photo who care iron maiden in this video...FUCK THE IRONS...ALL ALBUMS ARE SAME...UP THE RATTLEHEADS! UP THE MEGADETH'S

  • @michikuTV

You shut your hole, Iron Maiden HAS kept Metal alive for years, and MANY more years to come. UP THE FUCKING IRONS!!!!!

  • @sf987photo all albums equals...judas priest 40'years of true heavy metal...and?? iron maiden fans are like groupies...aaaaAAAAAAAAAHHHH EDDIEEEE!! LOOK THE ED FORCE ONE!! RUUUNNN!!!!!! FEAR OF THE DARK JUMP! JUMP! JUMP! GALLOP GALLOP GALLOP!!!! mercyful fate, diamond head, black rose, saxon, judas priest...true heavy metal

  • @michikuTV

You wanna know something? You are absolutely right, Iron Maiden, almost ALL Of their music does sound the same, it's all just, the same stuff. and why is that? because all their stuff KICKS ASS! And whats so wrong about being excited about a good band? have some respect for ONE of the greatest metal bands out there ya wanker.

  • @sf987photo yes...iron maiden is one of the best band of heavy metal...but,some fans believe maiden is the ONLY band,,and haven't respect for other some bands, and more old's...how judas priest, scorpions, black rose, diamond head..

  • @michikuTV

alright, that I'll agree with you. I consider Maiden as one of my favorite bands, but when it comes to i suppose, recognition for being the greatest, I suppose thats all about opinions to be honest, but I agree. Some people believe Maiden IS the only good metal band out there, which is untrue. Definitely legendary, but just as much as Judas Priest, and many others you've listed. so argument, BOOM. resolved :P

  • Death metal, being largely underground at the time, still helped keep metal alive throughout the 90's.

  • Pantera kept the 1990'S metal.

  • @jfkdjfd Crowd would've gone freaking crazy, if Pantera was at woodstock 99'. Whole crowd would into one huge mosh pit. Seen that happend once it was amazing.

  • @jfkdjfd this is thrash metal

  • @jfkdjfd same with sepultura.

  • @TheDaltonator1234 Yeah, but Pantera was better.

  • Dave, what is up with those pants dude

  • @thrashwillwin Maybe not, but I've heard his original stuff with Megadeth, especially his solos, and he generally plays the same stuff: insanely technical and fast arpeggios and/or sweep-picked sections played in rapid succession. Like I said, he's got amazing skill, but he doesn't seem to cut loose at all.

  • @thrashwillwin Chris has lots of technical skill, definitely more than Marty, but he plays the same exact solos every time - he sticks to the script 100% of the time and doesn't improvise or change things up in the slightest. So he might not make mistakes, but neither does a robot. He's talented in a technical sense, but he doesn't seem very creative. That's probably why so many people say he plays like a robot.

  • @thrashwillwin Marty Friedman

  • I like chris broderick, hes really fucking awesome no doubt but still I liked the Rust in Peace lineup the best with Marty Friedman

  • @nomadic30 Praise the greatness of Maiden!!!

  • woodstock '99 sucked ass

  • @MrJosu2012 no way it had Korn, rage, limp bizkit, metallica, megadeth

  • @MrAsymmetriphobia yeah and their awesome but it just wasn't peaceful like '69. It was more metal and super hype than a melo chill vibe

  • @MrJosu2012 yeah i totally know what you mean. '69 was a bunch stoned hippies at peace with the world, yet '99 was teenagers looking for an outlit. There were fires, rapes, and lots of other bad things that happened in 99. But the reason i said that i liked '99 was because there was lots of good bands! :)

  • @MrAsymmetriphobia yeah bro totally! :)

  • @nomadic30 And pantera!

  • @nomadic30 What ? Every single band that came on stage had a blast, and it was a pretty good time for music if you ask me. Just look at KoRn woodstock 99, they tore the place up.

  • @SaucisseMerguez Yeah but Korn sucks.

  • @sukkahiki666 Nah KoRn* kicks ass, now they suck but then they were the shit :) Look at Blind woodstock 99 son, and dont say they suck after that :)

  • @SaucisseMerguez Sorry dude I just dont like new type of metal:/

  • 1. "Good evening".

    2. 'Holy Wars' riff.

    Just epic :)

  • @iAMcooooooool Just shows how fucking cool Dave Mustaine is. :D

  • Chris is a good guitarist, Marty is a phenomenal musician.

  • Thank fuck this faggot was kicked out of Metallica. Heaven forbid he should have been allowed to pollute their sound with this sort of shite.

  • @w0y1z92753 im sorry to burst your bubble but Mustaine wrote the majority of Metallicas songs and bascially got them to the "spotlight" but the Hammet came in and used his ideas as well as Metallica ripping from a lot of Mustaines stuff after he was kicked. But personally i think Metallica is dying out their music sounds nothing like it use to and Megadeth is suprisingly still going strong (no where near like they use to though) but yeah im glad that he was kicked too but only to form Megadeth.

  • @w0y1z92753 if you can't appreciate both bands then you are a poser and you are pretending to like metal.

  • @rodge2001 I don't pretend to like anything. I'm a fan of good music, whatever the style. Clearly, this SHITE isn't good music. Therefore, I'm niether a fan, or a poser.

  • @w0y1z92753 Well why come to a Megadeth video anyway? And I have to admit this performance aint pretty good imo. But you should check out older performances of Megadeth. And come on I like Metallica but Metallica is sellout piece of shit these days. Lars is shitty drummer, Hetfield is annoying, Hammet is really unoriginal and Trujillo is ok. If you seriously are saying that Metallicas new albums are good you are not a metalhead.

  • @sukkahiki666 korn really sucks there 1st album was ok at best

  • @MrMatt29999 Yeah it does.

  • Wow, they all have short hair. Even Dave's is shorter than usual.

  • Good evening... *rips Holy Wars*

  • man the sound is terrible nothing wrong with the vid it just sounds like the sound system is really half assed Megadeth did the best with what seemed like a shitty venue and given how it ended well i'm just glad they got out of there in one piece

  • Why couldnt Mustaine just use THAT Jackson throughout the whole woodstock show. AFter this song he used a Jackson Y2KV (gibson flying V copy basically) and it was UGLY compared to that guitar!

    Otherwise, great performance.

  • Awesome

  • @nomadic30 long live to IRON MAIDEN!!! my life exists thanks to Iron Maiden, the gods of metal, dudeeeee

cant wait to see them live here in north america so fucking soon `m/

  • Long live Megadeth

  • Was this before or after Mustaine cleaned up his act?

  • @richintalent this was in 99 and if you saw the behind the music thing on megadeth i think in 1995 he officially went clean after 15 times in rehab

  • MEGADETH will kill metallica... spilling blood across the land, killing for him music...

THAT ANYONE GOES TO LIKE!!!... up MEGADETH DAMMIT!!!

  • @eddywylde humm i don't think so

  • 1:46 looks like jason newsted switched bands

  • Great song frakked up around 4:00

  • chris broderick plays the eastern part sooooooo much better than this douche

  • @pifa4life

this "douche" is the one who wrote the solo, stupid...

but yes, chris broderick is fucking amazing

  • @dinoplaysanibanez yeah no shit stupid.. hes still a sloppy fucking loser

  • @pifa4life that`s because that "douche" you say, is the one who wrote it, you dumb fuck

  • @juanpab2 AHHHHHHHHHHH i know that you fucking retard..CHRIS-PLAYS-IT-BETTER thats what i said, and thats what i meant

  • @pifa4life U MAD?

  • @juanpab2 a little

  • @pifa4life "This douche"? His name is Marty Friedman, and he deserves to be called by it. And Chris doesn't play it better.

  • @MegaMave come on man..are you seriously gonna say chris doesnt play it cleaner and better than this douche does..and everyone keeps telling me his name, i know who he is, i aint talking out of my ass

  • @pifa4life Chris plays with zero feeling. It's like you're listening to a robot play. He's a very accomplished player and can shred the shit out of a guitar, but he's no Marty Friedman. No one sounds like Marty. You can instantly recognize Marty's playing.

  • @MegaMave yeah no one plays like marty, they play better..like chris when he plays marty's parts

  • @MegaMave Marty is an ass hole. Read Mustaine's autobiography and you'll understand why so many people dis him. Plus, if you've listened to his solo band cover of tornado of souls, you might have 0 respect left for him.

  • @ClassicGameRoomFTW What do you know? Go back to playing video games.

  • @MegaMave I'm lead guitarist in a thrash metal band. I'm using my little brothers youtube account. Grow up.

  • @ClassicGameRoomFTW Get your own account. Durr.

  • @MegaMave My account is suspended. Hurr.

  • @ClassicGameRoomFTW lololol noob

  • @ClassicGameRoomFTW No offense but you are a whore.

  • @kATOsTaRiS Very clever.

  • @MegaMave i disagree. I saw Chris last year, and he really enjoys his role.

  • @Kapitan234 Oh no doubt he enjoys it, doesn't mean he doesn't play with zero feeling though.

  • @MegaMave i totally feel the same way :(

  • @MegaMave hate me, but i think that on live pitrelli is actually better than friedman

  • @konejo197666 Pitrelli was great, but Marty's stuff didn't cut it when Pitrelli played it. The solos off WNAH were fine, and all of Chris Poland and Jeff Young's solos also sounded fine with Pitrelli. Bottom line; only Marty can play what he was there for and wrote.

  • @lolyourreallygay i'm not totally agree, i mean pitrelli never did crazy shit, (like the effects that marty use in this show from this show) I went to shows from megadeth in the pitrelli era, and he totally rip the marty stuff without a problem (by evidence its the rude awakening dvd) i admit that in studio maybe the marty-menza stuff was amazing but in live shows the pitrelli-degrasso duo was a little bit better (but that's just my thoughts)

  • @MegaMave I agree!

  • @MegaMave I'd have to disagree. I think Marty is a great player, but to me Chris is just as good, if not better. Watching him play Marty's solos is fantastic in it's own, but he hasn't had a lot of chance to "prove" himself, if you will, with his own solos. His solo in Public Enemy 1 is very sweet as well.

  • @MegaMave broderick or poland?

  • @MegaMave dude.... i love marty. but chris has just as much fun on stage as marty. he plays with just as much soul. the only difference is marty wrote them. i mean watch the big 4, chris is smiling half of the solos.

  • @andrewds98 I never said he doesn't have fun on stage. I said it SOUNDS like you're LISTENING to a robot play.

  • @MegaMave well you said he plays with zero feeling.

  • @andrewds98 ...Nevermind dude.

  • @MegaMave marty hated this music though..which is why he isnt in the band anymore, he quit because he doesnt like metal music.

  • @jackbrez22 I'm very aware of that.

  • @jackbrez22 i heard that too. i just dont get why he audtioned in the first place if he doesnt like metal

  • @jackbrez22 just because his tastes changed doesnt mean he hated it.

  • dave was kicked out befor kill em all was recorded its kirk playing on the album, they kicked him out cause he was a dick and a crackhead then he created megadeth with dave ellifson and i think thats the best thing to ever happen to metal, but the bottom line is they are both awesome, yes kirk hammet us extremley overrated as a guitarist but metallica as a whole is still awesome, im sure kirk has some creative imput in thier songwriting

  • @TodayAt420 he was an alcoholic not a crack head...and he worte alot of the songs on kill em all....but im not meaning anything bad by that...i love both bands

  • @crenger he did heroin and coc

  • @pifa4life not in metallica

  • when was dave in metallica? was it before they put out a major label album? i can only remember hetfield on any of metallica's songs. then again i am not a die-hard metallica fan so idk someone help me!!!

  • @INSFAN86 He was kicked out right before Kill 'Em All came out.

  • @INSFAN86

When Metallica fired Mustaine he created Megadeth... he was the second soloist guitarrist in Metallica (the first one was a black dude, I didn't remember his name), then Metallica called Hammett and he joined the band

    Everybody knows it man...

  • anybody else find it funny that at woodstock, a historcial peace festival, megadeth was the last band to play, they started the set with holy wars and ended it with peace sells but whose buying, 2 yrs b4 9/11

  • @TheEppypens 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/11 9/119911919999119111991111111111111199911919111911. 1.

  • sick

  • does anyone know what the lyrics are actually about??

  • @ulizinho The first half is about the holy wars in the middle east. and the second half is about the punisher

  • @mustainemademedoit

Nah, the Holy Wars is about their experience in Ireland.

  • @netzainal It says Israel right in the song...

  • @mustainemademedoit Nah mate it's when they went to England

  • @mustainemademedoit but their experience in Ireland was what inspired Dave to write the song. There's a Guitar Center clinic that was filmed where he talks about it.

  • @DegraDeadlock Ellefson cut his hair too.

  • im a fan of dave's pants

  • The NU Metal crowd was awed by the Friedmand/Mustaine guitar solos!

  • Even though Chris Broderick is a monster on guitar, I wish Marty would stop being a tool in Japan and come back

  • This is right after Menza had to quit

  • @McFudge93 Menza never quit.He was fired in 1997

  • @ColtinNotChicken He left Megadeth because he was diagnosed with Cancer... look it up

  • @McFudge93 He never actually had cancer.Just a benign cyst.Read Daves book

  • @ColtinNotChicken But of course he did return, and then was fired again... but this was after '97

  • @McFudge93 Jimmy was better anyway

  • @ColtinNotChicken I did read his book, but I must have forgotten that detail... but yeah, jimmy was less of an asshole, for sure

  • love the phrygian in this song. the look at martys face after after he plays it was like. "yeah, metalli-what?"

  • No wonder why there were riots at this event. Megadeth melted the crowd's faces and everyone went ape shit afterwards!

  • Mustaine has enuf hair to go around for Marty and Jr

  • Marty looks like an alien. Ellefson looks like the father of a really hot 17 year old chick.

  • martys whole image here still fails harder than elfs hair

  • i was a 16 yr. old metallica fan from hell in 1999 but 2 short month's after this show was over my buddy brought over this album & 4 the last 11 yrs. i've listened to this band religously at least every other day & in 2004 got to meet dave mustaine at a hole in the wall in ft.wayne in.!! i know every word to every song by heart & megadeth 2 me is the still beating heart of thrash!!! long live dave & ellefson 4 they r metal god's!!

  • Watching David Ellefson with short hair is fucking painful

  • what pisses me off about this performance is there fucking hair cuts i love there hair but here its just not metal

  • his voice just had to die he used to sound soo good like in this video :/

  • Drummer fails at the beginning :)

  • @zigen96 how
