@deoayotube The G11 is more compact, but I'm pretty sure the hx1 has better photo qaulity. I do know that the HX1 has may more features like:

- sweep panorama

- tilting display

- longer zoom etc.

Have this camera. All of my new videos were shot with it! Uploads directly to Youtube with great quality!! The shots are good indoors, but great out doors. It's a bit of a step down from my 30D, but makes for a better all-around camera.

Can Anyone please help ?? I'av got this cam and it does amazing... yet i'm facing a problem that when I transfer the vidoes to my PC and run them by any player (even with DVD etc) they don't run continously rather giving breaks and fluctuations both in voice and picture.. I'av consulted manual too but of no use.. please help.

@faraghadmi .. I have the same problem. It's choppy, right? not very fluid. Data drop or frame drops? It doesn't happen everytime but happens more then it doesn't. I was going to ask the same question. I also can't figure out how to fix the grainy pixles in low lights.

@faraghadmi might be your pc not the cam, if you have a bad pc with a bad graphics card it wont be able to run the movies very well.

you can get 1080p video and the ability to add a fisheye lens if you search it on amazon, so this is great for skateboarding

I try in store, the picture is among the worst of its rival, it does has unique screen and 10 fps but once you take it it take 4ever to load it. $400 is a bit pricey get the FZ35 instead.

How would you compare this to the Sony H20?

I know the H20 cost less, and has less zoom but I just want to hear other people's opinions. I'd like to get something good for concerts. I'm thinking the H20 will be ok but since the HX1 offers a greater zoom and the panorama option, I'm torn.

I was considering the H20 too, but the camera has 38mm lens vs. HX1's 28mm. The HX1 is the clear option to go for, if size is not a problem for you.

If considering H20, it would be MUCH better to go in for Panasonic Lumix TZ7, which offers 25mm and 12x Optical Zoom, the TZ7 is unbeatable in its range. Other cameras in the range are Canon Powershot SX200, which boasts similar features as TZ7, but is not upto the mark with the TZ7.

Not specifically, although it has a twilight portrait mode. I don't reccomend it for pitch black shots without flash.
