I completley agree. Although I've never had this problem because I only have one person I know of where I live who plays but I cmpletley understand what you mean. It's just a game.
Sightless, I know what thats like, believe it or not. This seems silly but the answer is simple. Your in the majority with the 3/4, so make your own much larger cliche. If a place to play is the problem, start a club and it will grow if you treat people right. A small weekly due is nothing on one person but with lots of people, soon you will have your own terrain and then problem solved. I had the same problem in Central Illinois, and it sucked nuts!!!!!!!!
i actually have to drive a 30 min every week to atleast go play and even then i still feel alienated and i have no friends that play so that sucks the the tenth degree
sadly though my local community has some pretty crappy people running it all. the game store owners, the leaders in the community, they all have these little cliches of a small group of people(these groups at the 2 stores make up maybe 1/4 of the entire community)
and like any cliche, if your in it, its a sweet ride. but for the other 3/4 of us we just get alienated
our community is dieing off somewhat now. still plenty of players, but its hard to find them anymore.

Thank you for saying this! I guess any gaming community has its share of people that just doesn't go well together.
