  • love how the mic is dancing at rhythm of the music!

  • If you like this video you will luv my site Goozled.com

  • Once again, I watch this video and I am amazed at her voice. Intense and passionate. I never get tired of their music. No doubt one of the most talented yet underrated bands of the 80's era.

My only concern is... the one and only idiot who clicked dislike for this song ?

    Must be a jealous girlfriend!

  • I just found this vid and it is awesome! I was able to see Maria and Lone Justice perform live twice on the Joshua Tree Tour with U2. Lone Justice tore it up both shows. It's amazing what they did with just a 35-minute set. I have always loved Maria McKee's voice and her on stage presence. Great son that brings back many memories.

  • Hey, was that Steve Van Zandt over there?

  • Comment removed

  • @EuropeanMale1976 ....I saw Lone Justice open for U2 in '87, I enjoyed Maria more than Bono!!!

  • A fine example of the great music of the 80's

  • Anybody has Wheels in a decent sound quality ? There used to be one... Please, please, please ?

  • brilliant version lots of heart, are the audience fuckin zombies? Lets go to a gig & stand there like a fuckin statue?? Why??

  • THANK GOD FOR YOU TUBE...........SO THESE TREASURES WON'T BE LOST...

  • Great female musican

  • Should have been a HUGE star. What happened?

  • @lonbags Madonna and morons who prefer sluts who can't sing.

  • @RManFlint Some folks blame red tape, the evil music industry and the cruel world. You point your finger at Madonna and morons. Let me give you one example. In 1993 Maria released "You gotta sin to get saved" album. Thirty percent of its material had been written in 1960s. Yes, in 1960s. And guess what? Of course the album sold poorly. After 1993 she couldn't afford to make proper music videos. To me, the most surprising fact is, that Geffen/MCA allowed all this to happen.

  • Another 80s gem finds its way to Youtube. Thanks for posting.

McKee and Alison Moyet were two of my favorite female vocalists of the period.

  • @NCcountry32 I know what you mean. I usually listen to it 10 or 15 times in a row. This is a new version for me and I'm diggin' it.

  • Saw these early on.. :Loved Maria's voice. This plus Belfry, great. It was more up tempo. Then???

  • To read these comments...and find all these individuals who feel the same as I...all these people that actually know who Lone Justice is...and Maria McKee...and this song...one of my all time favorites. I have yet to play this for someone that says that they remembered it.

  • @airone101 I first saw the video on WTBS (Atanta, GA) Nite Tracks and was hooked. Still havethe video I recorded from back in the late 80s on vhs tape.

  • One of the greatest voices!!

  • SOMEONE!!!! show this clip to Maria Mckee and the band just to remind them of how great they were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This band was weird for me. So many changes from the early band, which had more heart and feel. These guys are solid players, but so much more "session" types, auditioned for the role. I loved the sound live, but it felt SO different. Bruce on keys always great though, and he had The Feel for her music.

  • I love a very wide range of music. That being said....Has anyone ever done a song better than this! This is amazing! Maria McKee was awesome , but Lone Justice is the icing on the cake!

  • WOW ! This band should have named themselves' No Justice! They are a remarkable band that never received the credit they deserved. Her voice is nothing short of amazing. In fact, the very first time I watched this video and heard her sing I was taken aback and bewildered all at the same time since I never heard of this group or remember listening to them on the radio when I was younger. Being a child of the 80's and just discovering this band now is serendipity.

  • @Paulytheknife Same ! i heared this song once/twice on the radio in the mid 80's.....then spent years trying o find out who sung it.

It turns out a friend of mine , who now lives in LA, is a good friend of Maria's & thru her I found out this was one of

her song , when she was with LONEJUSTICE. Bizarre!

great band ! The best female vocalisit ever....so strong & passionate. Love her !

  • 25 or so years later and this is STILL my favorite song. I love this version better than any. Its nice to watch her belt that voice out without re-verb computer technology and all. You know this talent is for REAL. No finer female voice in the world!

  • What a great voice! Love her.

  • Maria McKee still sounds good. Luckily her solo song Show Me Heaven showed that she can survive the breakup of Lone Justice.

  • Oo, so brilliant they where, à timeless piece for sure...

  • ROCK ON MARIA!!!

  • The beginning of this song sounds strangely like the beginning of Echo and the Bunnymen's "Bring on the Dancing Horses"

  • She Sho Can!!

    Maria Mckee--where are you??

  • She lady sure can sing.

  • Shayne Fontaine - one stellar, talented guitarist!

  • Talented woman.

  • I'm not saying U2 didn't rock~out that night.

    They were amazing too!

  • I saw them open for U2 in 1985? They got boo'd! I'm sitting there listening to the crowd chant for U2 to get up on stage and all the while thinking shut the F up!....this chic rocks!!!!

  • That's U2 fans for you though.

I saw the pretenders open for U2 and blow them right out the stadium (and this was after the sound techies trying to make them sound as bad as possible.)

..and to think we both paid to go see U2.

    Life's funny eh?

  • I saw that tour too. I loved U2 and had never heard of Lone Justice. The fans were awful with the booing, and my friend couldn't wait for them to get off stage. I thought she was crazy! I was one of the few who were mesmerized by Maria's voice and the band, and went out to buy their record. I loved all of their songs and still do.

  • @crw447 ooo I'm so sorry to hear that because if I could have been there I would have been so supremely happy....same happy good feelings kind of vibe all the way through the night from 2 of my fave my favorite artists....

  • Did they ever rock!!!!! why do the good bandds disappear and the shit is successful?

  • What ever happened to good songs like this. Oh lordy, I smell a skunk in the music industry these days. Pee-yew!!

  • She's the best.

  • In this performance Maria epitomizes gutteral American female kick-ass rock n roll. I believe that and I'm stickin' to it.

  • I don't know which is going to explode first, my stereo or my head but something's got to give. A great performance of one of the best songs ever written. Thanks a million for posting this!

  • Her voice....is just the best female voice in the whole wide world!!!

  • yes it is!

  • Oooohhhhhhhh, Maria my hearts beats wrong when I hear you,I m crying baby after this mastepiece!!!!Your voice is just amazing!!!!Awesome and glorious!!!!

    Out of time!!Beyond!!!!

  • Absolutely glorious.

  • Trond, thanks for posting this...what a gem! I loved this particular lineup of Lone Justice. Amazing live shows. To see Maria in her youth was a wondrous aural experience...still is!

  • What can we do to bring more attention, mor exposure to her genius?

  • I loved the SNL performance, went out and bought the album (that long ago!) right away. Shelter is my favorite.

  • I had that VHS for years... I agree one of the best SNL performances ever. They also performed "I Found Love". Maria is a great singer and really knows how to be out front in a band. Total energy.

  • This is great to see. Anyone know where I can get the performance from Saturday Night Live from about the same time?

  • I think all of the SNL shows are pulled once they are put on youtube. If I remember right, they were the music when Shatner hosted correct?

I will try to find that..

  • What a gift to see her live performing this her best song. Where else can one see such passion, such honesty. Thanks for posting. Thanks Maria.

  • THANKS !!!

always loved this song and MM's VOICE

  • They are just showing off. This one of my all time favorite songs.

  • Waren das noch geile Zeiten. Live aus dem Alabama, später Schlachthof. Echt geniale Live-Konzerte. Warum gibt es sowas heutzutage nicht mehr?

Hat jemand einen Mitschnitt von Amanda Marshall (Februar 1997 im Schlachthof)? Das war auch ein Spitzen-Konzert.

  • Wish I had the last 20 years back :(

  • Saw them support U2 at Wembley in '87. Completely blew me away...

  • LOVE HER!! this song is sooo wonderful!

  • sounds almost exactly like the album.....high quality performance

I know its dull to others, but I prefer concert perfomances to sound a great deal like the albums personally. Ive been to some shows where artists tried so hard to "re-interperet" their own stuff, that it didn't even sound like the same song....

they were a good live band by the clips Ive seen....I never got to see this bunch live myself

  • Cool! Hi Rez Version! Only HiRez Lone Justice out there, I believe. Need more!

  • I love this song too:)

Thank you so much for posting!

  • I love this song :)

  • Grand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
