She's not literally screaming her heart out. Another misuse of "literally". Although the image of someone literally screaming their heart out is intriguing. But thanks for the upload.
@lumbiaknight87 Where we can find beautiful young girls who dig great music nowadays anyway, let alone singers.. It's all about (c)rap now. Youngsters are miseducated to like bullshit and adore useless wankers.
This is a fine cover & the arrangement was copied from the ELECTRIC MUD album - you are absolutely right - but I still like MUDDY's original version from the 50's better. The STONES uptempo-version of the song is very fine, too and added something special and new to the original song.
janis joplin as a super model, this girl had a great voice and was out before janis ever came along, i agree cobraman ...they should have had a long and successfull career, they didn't write most of their material, maybe that had something to do with it
@MrEdtodd I was thinking similarly: I dig Janis, but Gayle had 'it'. I feel that most bands or solo performers that don't impart the obvious vibe of having been manufactured -- like any 'bubblegum' act does -- are probably destined to wither on the vine if they don't write their own material. How can you hold the public's true artistic interest if every song you play is someone else's? It's like Cyrano writing poetry for the lovesick moron to recite. Still, careers ARE made that way.
for a killer version of this tune check out lydia pence with cold blood. sorta like janis joplin meets tower of power. she has some other great stuff. there was some killer blueeyed soul in those days.rumors65
This is right off Electric Mud. Same arrangement. I did studio work at Chess and was on a few Mud sesions. Gayle was a talented superb singer but , she could have done a better arrangement. I was embarrassed with with most of the arrangements on Electric Mud.
Gayle McCormick is (in my opinion) is the only one to date who could rival the great Grace Slick. I loved these guys; still do. Thank you for sharing! •♫♪•*❤
Hot voice, terrible guitar sound.

Actually, if you want to listen to killer version, listen to Mungo Jerry - that's the heaviest of all existing, and the best one

You're right- the arrangement makes the song ponderous.
