  • Hot voice, terrible guitar sound.

  • ♥ .

  • foxy lady....

  • Didn't Bad Company do this too?

  • @menom61 Foghat.

  • @menom61 It is a Willie Dixon song. A shitload of of people did it. Muddy Waters and Foghat etc... My guess is BC did it.

  • @birdmanphil4 but no one did it like lydia pense

  • She's not literally screaming her heart out. Another misuse of "literally". Although the image of someone literally screaming their heart out is intriguing. But thanks for the upload.

  • where ..where can we find singers like her and her peers during late 60's and 70's...?

  • @lumbiaknight87 Where we can find beautiful young girls who dig great music nowadays anyway, let alone singers.. It's all about (c)rap now. Youngsters are miseducated to like bullshit and adore useless wankers.

  • likes muddy waters version but this is not bad

  • Pretty good version here. Shadows of Knight rendition off Gloria album is a good rockin version too.

  • wow, such a hot chickGayle mckormick, and great voice and really great sixties sound.

  • Love Smith but the Muddy Waters Electric Mud Album is the real deal no cover .

  • @GUITARDON8

This is a fine cover & the arrangement was copied from the ELECTRIC MUD album - you are absolutely right - but I still like MUDDY's original version from the 50's better. The STONES uptempo-version of the song is very fine, too and added something special and new to the original song.

  • janis joplin as a super model, this girl had a great voice and was out before janis ever came along, i agree cobraman ...they should have had a long and successfull career, they didn't write most of their material, maybe that had something to do with it

  • @MrEdtodd I was thinking similarly: I dig Janis, but Gayle had 'it'. I feel that most bands or solo performers that don't impart the obvious vibe of having been manufactured -- like any 'bubblegum' act does -- are probably destined to wither on the vine if they don't write their own material. How can you hold the public's true artistic interest if every song you play is someone else's? It's like Cyrano writing poetry for the lovesick moron to recite. Still, careers ARE made that way.

  • Why did this band not get more recognition?

  • What ever happened to this group, that chicks gotta hell of a good voice.

  • Quite possibly the best female rock vocalist ever.

  • Actually, if you want to listen to killer version, listen to Mungo Jerry - that's the heaviest of all existing, and the best one

  • Foghat aint got nothing on Gayle.....

  • wow...I just woke up the neighbors singing along with this...

  • for a killer version of this tune check out lydia pence with cold blood. sorta like janis joplin meets tower of power. she has some other great stuff. there was some killer blueeyed soul in those days.rumors65

  • Nice!!

  • This is right off Electric Mud. Same arrangement. I did studio work at Chess and was on a few Mud sesions. Gayle was a talented superb singer but , she could have done a better arrangement. I was embarrassed with with most of the arrangements on Electric Mud.

  • @joeb810

You're right- the arrangement makes the song ponderous.

  • I love this song I think I do not need to say why lol

  • Shes' got the most Powerful voice of all time !!

  • @GreenhouseEffectGE WHAT ABOUT JANIS JOPLIN OR ARETHA OR TINA TURNER

  • reminds me of a band in the late 70s and 80s from westminster md and around there named ZED with great woman lead singer great stage presents

  • @Robbobrcc I've seen ZED. They opened for Crack the Sky! The guitarist was also good. Harford community college '78

  • nice 60´s rock

  • Gayle McCormick is (in my opinion) is the only one to date who could rival the great Grace Slick. I loved these guys; still do. Thank you for sharing! •♫♪•*❤

  • somebody has a sure enough "fuzz" box. that's some serious distortion cooking there.

  • Love it, thanks for uploading!

  • One of my favorites from Gayle.

  • Hmm nice to hear this old Dixon Song in a funky 60version!

  • yummy hot

  • Funkadelic! I 'bout wore my Smith album out. Thanks, Ardbug!

Like the lyrics much better than Etta's, too.

  • @ChaSquared Hehe you are very welcome:)

And yeah I always enjoyed the slightly different lyrics too :)
