You play really nice, but with guitar rig and an american telecaster you can sound much much better. I know because i play the same backing with a mexican strat with a Vintage OD sound preset and sounds cool.

ok, his playing is WAAAAY better than anything i can do, and his covers are great. but this one isnt about technical ability, i think people are forgetting "feel". and this doesn't have it, its played well, but doesn't have the funky feel of the song. he's an awesome player, and i'm not taking anything away from that, way better than me, but as a drummer, i look for feel and groove, and this song should have it, but it sounds like a metal guitarist trying to play fusion and doesn't work.

But, could it be that you're perhaps just overly familiar with Guthries version(s) and it just makes this seem less relevent/soulful/feely (you know what I mean)? It is a hugely subjective issue after all. Maybe it's because Gustavo uses more distortion/drive?

@emohaterjames I also agree with Stevie. Gustavo applys a great deal of feel to this song. It seems as if you're used to Guthries style on this song. If you listen to Gustavo, he cover's songs perfectly along with his own unique style. We want innovators not imitators.. And there's a groove and feel to this cover, you just have to recognize it. I think he did well for using Distortion + covering a Guthrie song when gustavo plays strictly Hard rock.. Think outside the box. no offense man.

Dude you are one of my favourite guitar players but I gotta tell you: you didn't do a very good job with one...your sound is waaay too dirty and it's like you're going through the notes. You gotta swing it a bit more. Give it a bouncy, slippery feel. Just like its name.
