it looks like you put two 12 volt batteries on an 18 volt drill thats like 40 volts on a 20 volt system. try wiring the to batteries in parallel instead of series. How did you get the small bike chain sprocket for the motor ?

i built a similar thing...i built a simple monocycle structure with two air-tires (small) and a simple brake sistem, i've added a fiat's starter engine, two pulleys, a trapezoidal belt, a simple regulator from italian's Railways(XDD) and a bosh 55A/h car battery.....it's fantastic....i use it every morning to go to school....even if i have the car this is more funny and cheaper...

all you need is sprocket so the motor can run at the speed it is designed for and it will be fine

when i made on, i put on a little bit to strong engine, i didn't use a regulator so it was on or off, i connect the car battery to the engine en switch, i said down on the bike, pushed the button, and launched away the bicycle and falling on my ass.
