  • Cool gun

  • Actually the manual that's provided with a new P3AT shows pin being removed with a live round ,Badge,I agree with you however that this is just begging for a mishap! Anyway Cutlerylover best vid I've seen on disassembly of this pistol, keep up the good work and thank you now I know how to do it.

  • Great video - very helpful. Thanks!

  • Great, uses a LIVE ROUND to disassemble the slide. Sheesh.

  • very helpful, thank you.

  • good video, thanks

  • maybe you should use and empty casing to take it down....just a thought....

  • Thank you so much; very helpful indeed!

  • Is that the Kel-Tec P03AT "Bite", between u`r thumb and u`r pointer finger, every time I shoot my 3AT it rips my hand up.

  • @lisapizza8 been there, done that too. Both thumbs on same side of the gun pointed down range. I learned that lesson from the doctor while he stitched me up.

    About a $600 lesson.

  • could you compare it to the derringer?

  • Good video man. But dude, get all metal snap caps. Don't use live ammo to check the action. I use snap caps for every caliber I own. Great to use after cleaning, repairs, modifications, etc...

  • I like the all black especialy for CCW. I noticed your barrle is not blue, what is it?

  • is the saftey on this gun just the fact that the trigger needs a long pull to fire?

  • pretty much, long double action...the only real safeties on the gun is to ptrevenmt it from firing if dropped...

  • thx =) i was taking mine apart in minutes

  • Wow very good Just picked mine up today can't wait to break in and clean Thanks

  • thanx for the info!

i placed an order for some mag tec first defense solid copper hollow points..only .380 ammo i could find..

    hope they feed reliably!

  • Thank you for posting this video. It was a great help. Kel-Tec's instructions are a little vague. After watching this, I had no issues breaking it down and felt comfortable in doing so.

  • thats good to hear Im glad it was helpful!

  • rack and tap for 1st round..

hmm..im guessing the recoil and auto loading after firing the 1st round feeds the hp bullets fine then?

if thats the case then no problem..

i havent shot any hp ammo though my p3at yet..only full metal jacket

  • exactly unless you break it in with say 200 rounds than to load the 1st round should not be a problem but if its not broken in yet then that 1st round may stick, BUT if you carry +1 its not an issue since your 1st shot will auto laod the next round..

  • hey cutlerylover can you answer me a question? lol Does it ride on stainless steel or polymer rails?

  • there is a straight 3" long rail which is metal but I dont know if its stainless or aluminum...?

  • thanks man...i have a glock 23 and i love it but sometimes it seems to heavy to tote around all day...the kel-tec will likely be my next purchase your vid helped me convince myself i needed it lol...Love what your doing though man keep on informing people, i know i have learned a thing or two from you

  • what brand of hp does ur kel tec p3at feed the best?

  • I only put 2 kinds in both did the same thing, 1st round got a bit stuck when you racked the slide after that they fed fine...so 1st round you rack tap the slide and your good to go, but I only oput 50 rounds of target ammo in it since I got it new, so its still in the break in period...

  • kel tec p3at or berreta bobcat

  • both great guns...but I woudl go with the keltec for the larger caliber and lighter weight...

  • That was excellent. !!

    Thank you

  • Neat video. I like the Glock simplicity much better.

  • For all of you Kel Tec 380 owners you may want to consider doing a polish of the reciever ramp and look for machine grooves ahead of the barrel which will cause the cartridge to jam while chambering. I was having multiple jams before polishing the ramp. I could not load hollow points without continual jamming before the polish. What good is a defensive gun if it won't load hollow points? Well it works now. Also I installed NiteSiters on my 380 which increased my sighting 100 percent. Great Gun.

  • Great vid, check mine for the polishing technique.

  • Another thing keeps me wishing I had bought the Keltec instead is the carrying case by Ruger. My Dad's old Keltec carrying case looked like a pocket organizer. The RugerLCP's is shaped like a pistol telling everyone what it is. With the P3AT you could get a magic marker and cover up the Keltec Logo and hide it in plain sight.

  • New Kel-Tec's come with the plastic case....

Not sure if you can get ahold of the old soft cases..

  • You make excellent comments. Thanks

  • Nice vid. When you take out the take down pin you don't have to rack the slide that far back. You can actually just take your right hand thumb, push the slide back about an 1/4inch, then remove the pin with your other hand. Just makes it a little easier......

  • Thanks I know, its just that there is a recess in the frotn part of the sldie that allows you to get behind that pin easier...

  • cool gun I have 2 of them what type hp are you using?

  • Kel Tec field strip is just too darn complicated.

  • complicated?

The field strips for all their guns is excessively easy.

  • cool vid,

im i nthe uk so dont know alot about guns but how do you make sure it wont go off in ur holster when carrying it?

  • well if you dont carery with a round in the chamber then it wotn go off unless you pull the gun pull back on the slide then pull the triger thats one way to go if you want to be sure, but most holsters cover the trigger area so it wotn go off...

  • thanks

  • Nice title graphic. When did you start using it?

  • this is the onyl bvid so far, just experimenting, wont be on all my vids...

  • is that eligal?????

  • i dont think he would even respond to someone who cant correctly spell ILLEGAL, And like the intro jeff ;D

  • Thanks...

  • not for me and where I live...

  • why do some guns have that flared out barrel and others just have a solid cylinder?

  • Yeah i got a Balisong question. What State do you live in? because im looking for a state that Balisongs are legal in.

  • He lives in P.A

  • virginia

  • Balisong's illegal in Texas and very few people in San Antonio know that all lockblades are illegal by city ordinance.

  • it would be a bad idea to mug you

  • lol nice intro

  • great video

  • thats a real nice gun man

  • can you buy this gun in 9mm

  • They have 9mm's that are bigger..

    Check out Kel-Tec's PF-9 and P-11.

Both are 9mm... PF-9's slightly smaller than the P-11, but P-11 can get 12 round magazines from factory and takes SW 59 or 69 series(forget which one exactly) and you can get up to 16 rounds or more in the P-11...

  • yes but that defeats the purpose for me anyway to buyign a small gun like this, I wanted the smallest gun available in at least .380 or bigger, althoguh 9mm is even better, I woudl ahve to sacrafice more weight and a bigger package../.

  • Yeah, just letting Seven know his options for 9mm ;).

I honestly wouldn't want the p3at to be in 9mm... ouch.. imagine shooting that? lol.

  • options are always good!

  • erm u sorta forgot a dry aimed shot to dubble chesck that ther is no live ammo in ther that cud go off in storage

    great vid tho

  • I took out the mag then pulled back the slide to make syurew there was no ammo, theres no other place a round could be hiding...

  • yehh i personaly dont kno the safty drills for taht wepon but the shot is seccond nature to me now from shooting in the scc

  • Nice video i have yet to own a handgun mostly becasue im 15 but as soon as i get one i know all of your videos will be verry helpful

  • great vid :)

  • HEY GUYS

  • speaking of the background what happened to the wood table/desk or whatever it was?

  • I remember from some vid that this is the same table but it has somekind of cloth on it.. (sorry my bad english)

  • actually your English isn't that bad at all.

  • Thanks =)

  • this comment is for Jeff. very nice work!

  • how much was it?

  • Nice gun there, Im kinda wishin Keltec did something in .22mag now. Oh well thanks.

  • wait so you just cary around guns?

  • yup...unlike my knives this is a weapoin and not a tool so I carry it concealed so no one knows and hopefully never need to use it...but if I do I will have it on me...

  • dont you need a special lisence for that or need to be a cop?

  • it depends where you live, here in PA you cna openly carry a gun with no license as long as your 21, old enough to legally buy a pistol, but I carry mine concleaed and I do need a permit and do have a permit to do so...

  • 18 to own a handgun and carry it open.

21 is federal mandate on FFL's selling hand guns.

Actual age to own is controlled at state levels. Just a head up..

Still loving this gun a lot?

  • Agreed, in VT it is 16, with no license needed for concealed or open carry.

Really in VT there is just no weapons laws on the books, it is THE best state as far as weapons laws goes. Its only competition is Alaska.

Only disadvantage is that VT does not issue permits for carry, meaning you cant carry in other states, unless you apply for a non resident permit from FL.

  • Hey man where you live, 18 for a handgun? I know i can go somewhere with it and shoot someones, but legally it can not be mine or carried in public by me...Im 19 here in georgia you must be 21 to purchase, carry, even apply for the CCW....

  • To purchase a handgun from an ffl, you need to be 21..

The selling age does not mean it is actually illegal for you to own it.

However, since I believe you need a license to carry either way, then you can't carry until you are 21... But yes... we can open carry at 18 in PA, we just can't conceal it(or carry it into Philadelphia until we are able to obtain a license to carry).

If you want more info about state law verses federal regulations concerning ffl dealers... ?

  • gotcha, I just originally thought pistols was 21 nation wide..

  • in PA? I thought you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun? if thats true how cna you open carry at 18 if you cant legally buy them?

  • Federal law prevents an FFL from selling you a gun when you're under 21. However, Federal Law doesn't prevent you from owning a handgun at 18.

However, your dad or mom, grandfather..etc..etc. can legally buy one for you and give it to you(as of right now, PA allows for personal transfer between family members with no paperwork).

I will send you a link to give yo umore info.

  • thanks for the info...I know in OPA you dont ahve to register your guns and they cna also be giften to your family members...

  • You would think that would be common but it's not. It should be the standard.Government should be hands off until you do something wrong. They're context is preventive.

  • No special licenses.

You go to the store, submit to background check, pay for the gun and walk out.

Also, though Cutlery says it's 21 to carry open in Pennsylvania, it's actually 18 and you can legally own a handgun in Pennsylvania at 18.

  • I love how safe you are with your guns.

  • What kind of ammo are you using with the hollow points ?

  • love the intro!

  • I know very little about guns. Just wondering, what type or barrel does this keltec use? I recognize that the end of the barrel (the end where the bullet comes out) has a different shape than the glock. Is this barrel type unique to the keltec? Also, would this gun be able to fire without the pin in the frame?

  • Are you kidding? Without the takedown pin in the gun...the slide falls off. If it would even fire(I don't know what safeties are in place on Kel-Tec,) it would go flying off then end at the end of it's recoil cycle.

  • Great job man!! Hey just a heads up on the TYPO in your info box...

    Five Stars!!

  • simple video well done.

  • guns don't kill people. people kill people. if there was no guns we would just find a new way to kill each other. it just so happens that guns are among the most efficient way of killing.

  • nice vid. great demo

  • i like the intro

  • Do you use a holster for it, or just put it in your pocket?

  • nice video

  • Nice vid

  • is that 9mm?

  • .380 acp

  • Currently, I'm looking to buy a ruger 357, revolver with an extra 9mm cylinder to go with it, so I can have 3 different ammo for one single revolver, I've been looking around a lot and saving money, I'm a minor but my dad will keep it up while he's not with me advising me, also going camping on sunday! take care jeff and keep em coming. - Preston

  • through experience watching champions talk about these types of guns and mention things like they arent too accurate, ill just warn you that it might be prety hard to shoot... I could be completely wrong and yours could be a nice shot but im just warning you incase. but otherwise i guess you would just have to practise alot :P

  • we already own a 357 and my dad sold his other 357, also i shoot his 44 revolver quite a bit, i'm pretty good shot but not the best by no means, and i've been around guns my whole life. so it won't be hard for me i don't think. thanks though! - Preston

  • woops my finger slipped

  • Great video!! I got a quick question on the barrel why does it have a different looking barrel on the exit part of the barrel than like a 9mm?? do you get what i mean? i really dont know how to explain it sorry..

  • If you're talking about what I think you mean, it's just the way they machine their handgun barrels..

Their 9mm barrels look exactly the same, only a little longer and thicker.

  • I mean like at the exit part of the barrel its looke wider..

  • haha nice Begining

  • You don't have to dry fire after you rack the slide?

  • nope, actually it foyu do pull the trigger you need to reset the hammer to get the slide back on...

  • Nice vid jeff. It is so sad that we aren't allowd to have guns in sweden :(

  • Uh, just get a license...? :P

  • GREAT vid

  • nice gun still man 5/5

  • nice, do more shooting videos with this pistol

  • As ever.....fantastic
