It can be placed over old crowns too. No biting surfaces though, not strong like a crown for biting surfaces.

@Poopsiechuckle well to become a dentist you have to work so hard at school/college/uni that you miss most of the parties and all the fun stuff everyone does, add on to that your paying between $100,000-$200,000 at least just for med school not including all the costs to even get to med school and the costs that come after that (post grad study such as to do braces you need to be paying lots more for more years of study and exams). to be well paid at the end is deserved, and for loans payback

It is also important to pay attention to the side of the teeth where the veneer is not touching - It can become much browner than normal and it's very difficult to clean the area. I have traditional porcelain veneers and even my dentist can't get his cleaning tool round the side, in fear of damaging the veneer. I can't bite anything due to a previous crack from biting. The tooth underneath IS protected - (like having a white filling/bonding) - You just have to be careful with the new teeth!

Traditional veneers are much thicker and the process is long and painful. This appears to be a painless and quick cosmetic process with obvious positive results. However, it's likely that you will need to eat everything with a knife and fork for the rest of your life, stop biting on crunchy food and for obvious reasons make regular dental check-ups as well as flossing daily, cleaning, mouth wash etc.

hmmm. Ok I suppose for patients with erosion; but severe risk of cervial overcontouring which can lead to gingival inflammation....

(i.e. if you haven't lost a far amount of natural tooth, the danger is that the Lumineers are baulky near the gum line, it can lead to difficulty tooth brushing and lead to bleeding gums!)

I think the only reasonable thing to do is to get a peroxide whitening kit from a dentist. i think it's only a few hundred dollars, wear the thing an hour every night...no big deal

its 750-900 a tooth and i did some research and people said after a while the space between the gum and the lumineers right to the top gets stain and they also get gum disease. i just want permanent white teeth. still doing research

If you look closely at her teeth (when she is speaking at the end of the video) they appear too large and chunky for her mouth. This is what I do not like about veneers: they rarely appear delicate or pretty and often make one appear too toothy.

I'm getting 6 veneers because i have a slight gap in between my front teeth and other gaps I'm not happy about, plus i want them white, but not the whitest you can get like in this video. Well, insurance does not typically cover veneers or cosmetic procedures in general. You will always pay out of pocket. # 2, lumineers is just a brand of veneers. They are all the same. Like a soda, but some like pepsi and some like coke. Get it? They are so expensive because they are made by a lab, which is expensive. Also, because you are paying for chair time of both the doctor, assistant and every other staff member in the office. Dental supplies are expensive!!! Over head is very high!

@sosamdds All veneers are not the same. lumineers are the only veneers that do NOT require destrouction of tooth structure. The leading veneer company which is Divinche veneers, requeers the tooth is completley filed down to a triangle peg.
