Nice collection but DON'T frame 'em! the sunlight will eventually kill the colors. I have a 1983 Gelasso reprint set on my wall for looks and store the real ones in my safe. You have me beat though I currently only have 21 T206 cards.
i like sgc grading only because of the black background they tend to display nicely ..also they do make tobacco top loaders now for your ungraded ones
They have top loaders for ungraded ones? Is there a place you recommend for them? I could definitely use some. Eventually I want to send some out to be graded and I would prefer for them to be protected when mailing them so that would be great to have top loaders for them.
@Absolutesublime1 yes sir ...search this "Ultra PRO Tobacco Size Toploaders " or a really cool top loader with ablack background go to dacardworld. com and search tobacco top loader
I noticed you have a large t206 collection. Ive decided to sell mine and i was wondering if you would be interested in it. great collection... so how much is this worth? i know its not about the money haha... i collect high end purses... its funny cuz when i get a new one ill look at it try it on in the mirror then put it in its protective cover and put it in my closet lol
Man those are awesome, keep it up! I collect mainly cards of former Illinois Fighting Illini players, across all sports but obviously mostly football since it has the most players. I really like the frame idea, never heard that before but it sounds awesome and unique
Wow, that is an impressive collection. I don't collect baseball, but I'm a lot into hockey, mostly modern stuff, and I recently started to get a lot of 1950's cards... I have yet to put my hands on C56 (1910-11) and C55 (1911-12) cards, which would be the hockey equivalent of the T-206. Great job!
WOW nice collection. I went ahead and gave you a sub, hit me back as well. I collect newer cards but do have a nice 50's and 60's vintage collection. I like the wall idea just make sure it has uv protection to prevent fadding.
Great stuff! Displaying your cards on the wall will result in fading over time, even with UV Glass in the frame. If you do decide to frame them, place the frame out of direct sunlight.
First off love the user name, even with museum grade uv glass you think there will be fading over time?
I of course will not have it in sunlight, it would be in a room with one window which would have curtains over them, the only light it would see would be the typical light bulb which lights the room which would also not be on it directly. Do you still think even with uv glass and not in sunlight that there will be fading?
@Absolutesublime1 I'm sure with proper precautions, you can minimize any risk of fading to a degree that you're comfortable with--your setup with the indirect lighting sounds good. My earlier comment was based on an autographed baseball (Andy Pafko) that was displayed with UV protection. It was in a sunny room for 20 years and the signature faded by 50% during that time--sad.
@Absolutesublime1 pretty laid back, been playing some video games and cleaning up my room. I got a box cutter to mess around with the old boxes to remove them for recycling haha XD
Wow Jay. Very cool! Wouldn't have guessed you had all of those tucked away. Great collection of one of the best sets of cards ever made.
The framing the graded idea sounds great. Just go heavy duty on the "museum quality" UV protection and whatnot since (even in the slabs) the sun can eventually eat them up.
Hey Jay what an amazing collection...in such great condition...i think putting them on display would b nice but only if ur sure they r not gonna get damaged!
Wow man somebody loves you. Or do you love yourself? Great collection bro. I am a huge baseball fan and can really appreciate the value of this. I'm extremely jealous! The frame idea would be perfect man. Much better than having them stored somewhere. Gotta show off your goods the best way you can man.
Newer stuff is cool too! It's amazing how much the hobby has changed since we were kids, autographs and game worn jersey pieces ! Back in the day it was all about getting the rookies and all stars!
I bought a bunch off ebay, a bunch from card shops, conventions, auction houses. I try not to deal with ebay but I break down every now and then :p
@Absolutesublime1 Cool. I'm just curious what the average price would be for one of those cards? Whats the ball park value of your most expensive item in the set? I'm just curious. :) Nice cards.
Very nice collection Jay! Those are fantastic cards. I especially like that you focused on centering and registration. DO NOT NOT NOT NOT frame them and put them on the wall. The UV light will fage those vibrant colors over time. Thanks for sharing buddy! Hope all is well! --Alan
Thanks Alan, you rock! How have you been? I don't think I heard back from you last time we talked. How was your birthday? When is the baby due?
Well I was planning on getting the UV protective glass for the frame, do you think the uv glass won't protect enough though? I do love the vibrant colors and certainly don't want them to fade.
@Absolutesublime1 OH MAN!! Did I miss a PM?!? Def wasnt blowing you off bro. I'll send you a PM. And the UV glass only protects it to a certain degree. Anyways, i'll PM u, lol

Rudolph, Schmidt and Schlieh, Great German names and kinda remind me of Santas reindeer!haha What a great collection of beautiful cards !! Absolutely display! Because this is part of our hobby and what makes us happy and happy is the right place to be!!
Hahaa nice! I lived in Germany for 4 and a half years as a kid, I loved it there, the Rhine river was beautiful, the old world architecture, the culture and history, I definitely want to go back, just wish I hadnt forgotten all of the German I had learned.
Thank you for the comment my friend, definitely agree! I might see if I can find some of my comics and do a video of them too, although a lot of mine were lost and stolen :/
i collect movies, video games (retro and usually resell them), guitars, I used to collect sports cards, still have a ton.. and autographs, still have all of them, all recived in person. (over 1000)
Those are awesome cards. Those are in fantastic condition for there age. I collect way to many things. Just to name a few: Movies, retro video games, zippo lighters, guns, vinyl records, knifes, beer can handles, beer glasses, black & tan spoons, gun powder measures, old gun/tobacco belt buckles, ww1 & ww2 first aid tins, green label art md bottles, very old medical books (very fascinating to look through), that is the majority of what I collect but there are other things.
Hey Tyler, wow those are some cool things to collect! You should do some videos showing them off!
How many zippo's do you have? What are some of your favorite vinyl's? What is a black and tan spoon?
Guiness related? I lost a bunch of beer glasses during a move a while back :(. Eventually I plan to get some again though. What are green label art md bottles? I bet the old medical books are fascinating, very intriguing!
@Absolutesublime1 I may do a video of some of it. As for zippo's, probably only around 10. I use to have more but needed some money. I'm big into classic rock, so that is the majority of my vinyls. I just started collecting vinyls not to long ago, but want bands like The Beatles, The black crowes, pink floyd, queen, etc. I would like to get some colored vinyls. The spoons are to make black n' tans, 2 beers in 1 glass seperated to cause the black and tan effect.
@TromaticAddict Green label art md bottles are the aluminum mountain dew bottles they come out with every year that have different artist create a design. Yes, the stuff in the old medical books is crazy compared to what we do today. That's the problem with beer glasses, they look great but are a pain in the ass to move and can break easily and they take up a lot of room.
Cool cards man! I only have 1 baseball card- a 1989 Upper Deck Ken Griffey Jr. Rookie PSA 9. Griffey Jr. was always my favorite player. I do collect football cards and I have a few collection videos on my channel. My oldest card is from 1933 Sport Kings- a Red Grange Rookie. Please check out my videos, I think you'll like them.
Ah I remember that card! That is the one everyone wanted back in the day! Very cool card, he is a great player hall of famer first ballot for sure! Wow that is an awesome Red Grange rookie! I will definitely check them out!
Really nice cards jay I just started collecting tobbaeco cards myself ive been collecting cards themselfs for about 3-4 years but just getting into t206's and t205s and the sort. I really like your idea of frameing them if you do please make a video of it Id love to see it.I to try to stick to graded as Im not to good yet at spoting fakes.Just wondering do you have and particular requiem to how you collect like backs or teams or someting like that?
@Absolutesublime1 Yea thats what I do for the most part. I'll make a video today of my tobacco cards I think I have 12 so far I was collecting new cards for over a year but just got back into older ones Ive been collecting hofers for the most part since for graded commons it cost like 20-30 in lower grade but you can get hofers for like 40-60$ in 1-2s what is the best back you have?
holy shit man !!! wow just wow man love those i use to be so big on baseball and collected a lot when i was a teenager but lost all my collection to a robbery :(
real nice man ! i remember loving o peechee and upper deck ,, course i am talking back in the early 90s
Jonathan, how are you? Sorry to hear about your collection, I had a similar issue with my comics, lost a lot during a movie, and also had a bunch of my dvd's and cd's stolen at college. Sucks!
I remember O peechee! Was that strictly a canadian brand? Upper Deck was the coolest back in the day, I remember everyone wanted the Ken Griffey Jr rookie card
@Absolutesublime1 ah man those were the days i would prob still be collecting ,, but i gave up on baseball when they took away my beloved Montreal Expos :( ,,, the Tim Raines , delano desheilds , larry walker , denis martinez just to name a few...
Very cool! Sorry about the Jets man, but hey it was still a good season for them, and they are always in the mix now. You think Rex Ryan helped to change the culture there?
@Absolutesublime1 it was a very good season i feel confident in rex one of these next 2 yrs we're winning the super bowl i thought because i lost in fantasy then the Jets would win it lol rex is great im happy for our future thanks man!
Personally i`m not a Baseball fan, the only sport i like is football (soccer) but i can appreciate why you like the game and from a purely aesthetic point of view those cards are very classy, the way they are coloured is beautiful. They`d look really nice framed together on a wall.
By the way what is the most popular sport in the U.S? American Football, Basketball or Baseball?
For me baseball has such a rich history, the richest in the US at least since it is America's Past Time, it is one of the things I love about the sport, I always enjoy reading about players from the early 1900's that forged the way.
Thank you for the opinion on the frame, I definitely plan to frame them, might be expensive but it will be worth it.
Football is the most popular ratings/views tv wise, but baseball has the biggest following if that makes sense.
@Absolutesublime1 I`m english and my club team is Manchester United and also i also support the England national team. I`ve actually only ever played Baseball once and it was a painful experience. It was at school in England and i was the pitcher. I threw the ball to the guy with the bat, he hit it as hard as he could and the ball smacked me right in the mouth breaking two of my teeth. I`m sure baseball is a perfectly fine game but i`ve never been near a baseball pitch, or baseball game since.
Ah , I don't know much about the sport but I have heard quite a bit about Man U .
OUCH! I'm sorry to hear that, and I don't blame you. Players, especially pitchers who get hit like that are sometimes never the same player again, there's always that fear of getting hit again. I've seen some unfortunate and brutal hits like that before.
Oddly enough the first time I remember playing basketball I broke two fingers and sprained another, but for some reason I was drawn to the game and after my fingers healed I got back onto the court and it was the sport I was most passionate about playing.
Again, sorry to hear about your teeth, I couldn't image and don't blame you from staying away after that.
Hey!!! Great collection. I like the idea of getting the cards framed. Those cards are a part of history and would look very vintage in the right frame. That would look cool. I use to collect football cards and once had a uncut sheet of cards framed. Looked so cool. Mainly collected football cards from the 1980's and 1990's. I currently have 22 Joe Montana 81 Topps card #216 rookie cards. Some graded, some not. One is in a sealed rack pack. Again great cards and update us on your framing.
Hey, thank you for your opinion about getting the cards framed. I think it would look neat, a cool presentation and I could view them all the time.
Wow very cool, I bet the uncut sheet must have looked awesome framed! What happened to it, did you sell it? Would have been nice to see it. I collected football, basketball cards as well , not really anymore though.
@Absolutesublime1 Nothing else really. I'm rather plain and boring when it comes to collecting. If I had steady funds then perhaps I'd collect historic items like posters and such. I need to work on my movie collection.
Hey, yeah I think I saw some of your football cards in videos in the past. Very cool!
I know you post a lot about comics, I lost a lot of mine during moves , but I think I still have a few boxes, I might do a comic collection video in the future. Back in the day I had thousands , nowhere near that now though.
Thanks for the comment my friend, greatly appreciated. Hope you have a great weekend!

Really nice cards jay I just started collecting tobbaeco cards myself ive been collecting cards themselfs for about 3-4 years but just getting into t206's and t205s and the sort. I really like your idea of frameing them if you do please make a video of it Id love to see it.I to try to stick to graded as Im not to good yet at spoting fakes.Just wondering do you have and particular requiem to how you collect like backs or teams or someting like that?
bruinsfan94 1 year ago
@bruinsfan94
Thanks, very cool! Would love to see collection videos of yours too even if it's just a few it would still be cool.
I would advise sticking to graded ones for now as forgers and fakes are getting better and better and harder to spot.
I try to get HOFers, Cubs players, Southern Leaguers, and if I see any rare backs I try to get them too.
How do you collect them?
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@Absolutesublime1 Yea thats what I do for the most part. I'll make a video today of my tobacco cards I think I have 12 so far I was collecting new cards for over a year but just got back into older ones Ive been collecting hofers for the most part since for graded commons it cost like 20-30 in lower grade but you can get hofers for like 40-60$ in 1-2s what is the best back you have?
bruinsfan94 1 year ago

@DVDCollector079
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@Absolutesublime1 ah man those were the days i would prob still be collecting ,, but i gave up on baseball when they took away my beloved Montreal Expos :( ,,, the Tim Raines , delano desheilds , larry walker , denis martinez just to name a few...

How much is this set worth?
NewWaveFan1 1 year ago
@NewWaveFan1
Im not sure, I should get it appraised and insured.
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
Wow, man, sweet collection. Ever had the set appraised? I'd say you could get a pretty penny for the set.
pizowell 1 year ago
@pizowell
I haven't but I should. I wonder how much insurance would cost for it and my movie collection as well.
Thanks for the comment Piz. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Personally i`m not a Baseball fan, the only sport i like is football (soccer) but i can appreciate why you like the game and from a purely aesthetic point of view those cards are very classy, the way they are coloured is beautiful. They`d look really nice framed together on a wall.
By the way what is the most popular sport in the U.S? American Football, Basketball or Baseball?
acidhouse100 1 year ago
@acidhouse100
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@acidhouse100
I'm aware Soccer is the biggest sport world wide, what is your team?
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@Absolutesublime1 I`m english and my club team is Manchester United and also i also support the England national team. I`ve actually only ever played Baseball once and it was a painful experience. It was at school in England and i was the pitcher. I threw the ball to the guy with the bat, he hit it as hard as he could and the ball smacked me right in the mouth breaking two of my teeth. I`m sure baseball is a perfectly fine game but i`ve never been near a baseball pitch, or baseball game since.
acidhouse100 1 year ago
@acidhouse100
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@acidhouse100
Hope your weekend was great!
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@acidhouse100 american football is probably the most popular college and pro

Again great cards and update us on your framing.
thebabysittermurders 1 year ago
@thebabysittermurders
Very cool, Joe Montana is one of the greats!
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
Very cool looking cards. I think it's awesome that you're into collecting such a variety of things.
SiilentMiike 1 year ago
@SiilentMiike
Thanks bro montana , what other things do you collect besides movies, video games, ships/models , figures?
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
@Absolutesublime1 Nothing else really. I'm rather plain and boring when it comes to collecting. If I had steady funds then perhaps I'd collect historic items like posters and such. I need to work on my movie collection.
SiilentMiike 1 year ago
@SiilentMiike
I want to collect posters but original one's probably but many of those are really expensive.
Would you frame them or just keep them?
Any fun plans for the weekend broseph? I have to come up with more bro adjectives/names
Absolutesublime1 1 year ago
Man nice cards
I have a ton of football cards myself
It must have cost alot of money to have a set like that.
Cool cards man
Take care bro

@75bp
