I really like the idea for the game as far as left hand gage and right hand gage goes, but I'd like and auto-attack too in the case of fighting an NM or many small weak monsters... anyone else agree? Also I'm a little concerned about jobs involving pets like Dragoon, Puppet Master, Summoner, Beast Master, ect. Of everything that's out it's not showing any light on 'pets' :/. and I will just be absolutely heart-broken if I can't have a pet to fight with me....
Hopefully, there will be exclusive content for people with high level combat or magic skills that give you a reason to level up. If I want to fight mostly and every now and again stop, switch to a wand and heal myself, I can do that now and level both of those skills. I could not do that in ffxi. No, it's important to know that it isn't acceptable to everyone, or even most ppl, and FFXI is the worst Final Fantasy. They didn't even perserve the advancements in gameplay pioneered by the very first FF, multiple allies vs multiple opponents, the gameplay is so monochrome it is a shame on the FF series.

Perfect.... anyone who thinks FFXI was perfect is either a moron, or is extremely easy to satisfy. I played for 3 years, and played Dragoon most of the time. Perfect is when you can enjoy any part of the game, not when only certain classes and approaches are enjoyable.
That's just it, I was a Dragoon, alot of people play the game personally and just ignored all the problems in the game because they got by. I experienced first hand how bad the game can be, and all the flaws stuck out horribly.
I have gotten a breakdown of the actual attack system though, and wile it's far from ground breaking or original, at least it sounds enjoyable enough to satisfy normal play and typical FF players from the natural series.

I read an E3 interview with the FF14 developers that they are actually copying from World of Warcraft, Age of Conan and Warhammer Online. Kinda sucks, but hey, at least we still have XI lol

I imagine if they copy anything they will improve upon it greatly I hope the only thing they copy from WoW is the UI and the raiding.. if they use raids in this one.. Please, READ my comments before posting. The game was considered perfect to the Japanese community, they thoroughly felt(and still do, in most aspects,) that the game is perfect.
Obviously every game has glitches. Every. Single. Game. Not a single game is perfect in that aspect, what is perfect is the feel of being in an actual community of players and partying.
The item dupe glitch wasn't known for two years, it was pretty new at the time. Trust me, I still play. =/

That's just it, I was a Dragoon, alot of people play the game personally and just ignored all the problems in the game because they got by. I experienced first hand how bad the game can be, and all the flaws stuck out horribly.
I have gotten a breakdown of the actual attack system though, and wile it's far from ground breaking or original, at least it sounds enjoyable enough to satisfy normal play and typical FF players from the natural series.

3) SE is beyond perfect so I'm doubting them a bit
4) Yes the races are the same as XI (I have not yet seen any other races thus far)

I did not say it was a WoW clone, I was referring to the "simplicity" of WoW. Since FF14 is going to be "new user friendly" I don't expect seeing it being complicated like FFXI. Maybe they might have a quest logs set up where they tell you where you need to go or what at kill unlike XI half of the time.

It's Square though, and a Final Fantasy game... I imagine if they copy anything they will improve upon it greatly I hope the only thing they copy from WoW is the UI and the raiding.. if they use raids in this one.. AoC i hope they just used the style of graphics.. and warhammer... pvp maybe? or skills systems.. who knows.

I don't think they claimed to copy wow, rather they were influenced by it. I mean how many million people play it? They have to be doing something right, why not figure out what it is people like about that and apply it to your own game? It's foolish not to, unless you don't care about the greater success of your game... But all in all I believe they are still going to make ffxiv the way they want it to be, with influence on how to better it from successful games such as wow
