  • Don't get the connection to Blacks and outsourcing jobs? Don't blame Blacks for anything..The slave masters should have went shopping at Macy's rather than Africa picking up slaves! Should have caught the red sale!! Blacks were in Africa minding ther own bussiness happy, when all of a sudden....The big bad wolf came ALL THE WAY TO AFRICA...and then............

  • AT&T doesn't really want to recall the oversea jobs because it is more profitable for them to employ oversea workers.

In the USA, if they even have job offers, 90% of the hired ones are Blacks... why?... well, Blacks historically have high turnovers and very poor job performances. Oh well, the reports will say exactly that (but not about the Blacks) ... and hence will justify the oversea jobs to remain there.

  • WHAT DO BLACKS have to do with this? BLACKS have UNIVERSITIES that are ALL BLACk and you say BLACKS have HIGH TURN OVER?!?!?!?! Not when BLACKS are the bosses..but when WHITES are the bosses, BLACKS get fired...WHY?

  • Furthermore. Those are jobs being OUTSOURCED from India.

That means they are looking to pay less HERE than they were in India.

  • your comment is not true, they have to pay the minimum wage for the profession. The problem is unskilled labor expects to get payed big bucks. Well if you wanted big bucks then you need to apply yourself and get decent education. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

  • These are 'Customer Service' jobs. They answer incoming phone inquiries. They were outsourced to India, some are now being brought back.

All Corporate enterprise is driven by the bottom line. They only move the jobs to advantage the profit.

Your statement is confused, you mix skilled and unskilled in the same argument. They move the jobs for the cost advantage. If India is cheaper they go there, if the US is cheaper they return. There is no loyalty.

The sinking dollar is part of it.

  • Maybe it's you who needs the education. How can our children get a decent education when the public school system is broken? No Child Left Behind is a flawed program. It forces schools to teach students in the 10th grade 6th grade material in order to get higher test scores so they can recieve more funding. Meanwhile 10th graders in other countries (such as India) are learning at a 10th grade (or higher) level.

  • I agree with you completely, that our system is broken. Still, I am not inclined to take at face value, the declarations of either the Corporate Media in general or a given Corporation specifically. They serve their own interests and not the commonweal.

  • NCLB is tantamount to no funds left behind. This is consistent with an administration that gives only lip service to solving these problems.

Their approach is to privatize everything.

And in that spirit we spend more on defense than the rest of the world combined.

My education vis-à-vis the cynicism of this administration is robust.

  • We're on the same page about big business. I was just trying to point out to that one guy that it's hard to get a proper education when the foundation the children are getting is so horrible.

It makes me sick to think about how much money we've spent in Iraq when it could have been spent on education. Hell, the 9 billion that just disappeared over there would have been a HUGE help for education.

  • It is more than 18 billion in Iraq that is MISSING.

And, the Fed just dropped 200 billion to bail out the corrupt fat cat bankers.

This from an administration that VETOED health insurance for kids.

That 18 billion plus would have funded that insurance and gone a long way to revitalizing the primary education infrastructure.

In fact, with what we have spent in Iraq, we could have revitalized our ENTIRE infrastructure.

The Bush Regime has its priorities upside down.

  • They haven't had any problem tapping our phones or scooping up our emails!
