I live in Idaho, and I've been hearing that Low frequency hum for about 7 years now. At first I thought it was semi trucks idling at the truck stop, but then I moved and it didn't go away. I can hear it outside too though. I thought it was in my head, but if I plug my ears it goes away. I'm guessing that the submarine ulf theory is the most plausible. There are likely many sources, but one sure thing there are thousands reporting the same observations. Collecting data on HUM locations, so it would be useful to ID where you hear it.. Town/ state is close enough
Can you post your locations where you hear the HUM, we're making a data bank. we started hearing it in western Ct in Sept 2009 right at the time many changes were made to increase gas to the northeast. We have done more research than the gov't and have identified the HUM we have is almost conclusive- changes to the high pressure gas lines running through our area. There is an explanation for the TAOS HUM and many more. Surprising it's never been pursued.

We have done more research than the gov't and have identified the HUM we have is almost conclusive- changes to the high pressure gas lines running through our area. There is an explanation for the TAOS HUM and many more. Surprising it's never been pursued.

@SteveK11331 ii thought i was the only one. nobody else can hear it. A couple of months back it was so loud just for an instant i yelled to my husband that he had to have heard that and he did. but i find the pitch changes. it will be mostly a constant low hum, sometimes a high pitch, and other times almost like a fridge with tv noise mixed in. i kind of describe it as like hearing a magnet if that makes any sense to anyone.

Have had this for years where I am in UK too... Not everyone hears it, but I can visit my Mother some 17 miles away and hear nothing, come home, step out car and hear it in the drive and indoors. I have now seemingly just developed bloody Tinnitus and can still hear it!
Is maybe something to do with the Earth's Magnetic or gravitational fields. It apparently also gets more pronounced the higher you go in a building. Maybe alien brainwashing is going on...??

I'm pretty skeptical about everything. But at the same time, you gotta love unexplainable stuff! It usually starts around midnight, plus or minus a couple hours. Sometimes it's there when I wake up. It doesn't keep me from sleeping. It's actually...in a way it's kind of soothing. It's going on right now lol. Maybe Cleveland Metro Health dentists put a bug in me...haha

Not in NM. In Cleveland, OH. I started hearing a humming in my right ear about 2 or 3 weeks ago. It seemed to come about 15 hours after I woke up, and felt a super sharp pain in the area of my left kidney. I don't take any meds. Funny thing, I just got done taking a year of post-bac work to go to graduate school for speech-language pathology. We studied tinnitus in audiology and speech & hearing science. This isn't tinnitus. It's not really annoying. It's just there.
