Do you even know what "Snap" really is?? You do know that "Snap" is just the audible sound of the Disc ripping out of the Hand, right?? What you are really referring to in this video is called the "Hit", which refers to how the Disc pivots just before it rips out of your hand. Then lock that wrist for consistency and you're go to go, Best of Luck to you.
Snap is the bounce from the tendons in your arm... There need be no sound at all with a tremendous snap... climo for example makes no snapping sound at all at release...
Snap is the sound of your fingers "snapping" together at the moment of the disc ripping out of your hand. Grip is the key to snap. Dave Feldberg explaines it in this video: watch?v=28ABf6csQpM
By the by: you never did tell us what "snap" is ...
You got to go to the field and practice in order to become a better player. Practicing just your drives, just your up shot, and just your putting is a proven method. Learned more from studying the game on youtube than I learned in playing for five years.
Fantastic. This is a great perspective on the mechanics of the throw. Could add some tags though as it's a difficult to find. I might not have found it save for running across comments on forums. Thanks for this :)
Also, good practice is taking a light resistance band that allowa you to grab it and still comfortably hold a disc and go through the motions of the throw, stopping at each extension point and holding the tension of the band. It helps with quick-twitch muscle building as well as warming up. Somebody was selling a product like this called the "Snap Band" but it is very easy to make your own.
This video dragged at times, not going to lie, but it has been the single most helpful thing for my game. I watched these 2 vids just a week after learning the bent elbow technique and gained literally 75' in distance. As someone who lives in a place far from having a local pro or anything of the like, I appreciate the fact that you made this vid and did it in a way that's easy t understand. Much thanks.
dude, extremely helpful. Some guy was telling me that you're supposed to snap with your pinky and ring fingers. shows what most people know about this. can't wait to put this to use in the practice field
Good video, but might i suggest you go to a park or a somewhere with less distractions for your future videos.

I invented the term "disc pivot" on DGR forum years ago. No one used that term before I used it... Brad
