I hate it when people say this game is "overrated". This game,at it's time,was a huge leap for gaming. Everything about this game just works so perfectly. You don't have to like it,but if you can't accept the fact that it left it's mark then you can't call yourself a true gamer.
@bealtespip123 I agree, it's not overrated. I however personally don't like VII. (or IV). I honestly just didn't like the story, which is a big thing for me when I play a game. Personally, my favorite FF would be X. in my opinion the story was amazing and the characters were awesome.
I like the characters in VII, their cool, I just don't like the story. (I don't like much about IV).

But if you'r truely interested, search on google for the word "Phalanx", or even the wikipedia for that matter. You'll undoublty come across some pictures of some Roman soldiers holding spear thats are around 15-25 feet long.

idk i choose emeral as the hardest ff7 boss cuz of the whole u have to go in with limited materia thanks to his aire Tam (materia backwards) storm and overall stats atk and def but ruby is also hard thanks to his insane def and tentacles
easiest method to kill ruby weapon (although this takes the longest): MASTER Final Attack paired with MASTER revive = upon death this person will revive themselves. start the fight with two people dead. have one person use life2 as soon as the arms drop on both characters and enjoy an epic fight you can't lose.
Please forgive me as my memory of the game is a bit rusty.... but im looking for the music thats playing when (I think) you discover Vincent as a character???? Is it after you discover a secret lab after going down some spiral stairs????? Its the only 1 time in the game the music is played (i think)???? Please help.....
This is personally, the best game ever, alongside The Ocarina of Time. The music just adds SO much to these two games.. unforgettable experiences is what these are.. not even an amnesiac would forget them.
I respect your opinion and everyone else's, you can throw shit at me if you want, but, I don't really like the FF franchise, especially 7, I find it to be (kind of) overrated, I just don't like the fact that the gameplay in most of the classical FFs (1-10) is quite similar, and can, over time, get repetitive and even boring. The music is good, though.
As much as Square Enix has been sucking lately, you'd think they'd just re-do FFVII and make some money. I mean, have you seen the crap they've put out in the last couple of years? This used to be THE company that produced quality RPGs. Now look at them...

I completed it at like lv 99 Cloud, 96 Vincent and 90 Cid... here's a training tip - when you enter north cratee in disk 3, don't worry! You can still get out of there! go down a few rooms in and you will find yourself in a place with a lotta water and what looks like roots from trees... there, you can gert like 16000 xp in a fight against 2 Magic pots - use elixir on them both and you're good to go! as well as 2400 ap from enemies named Movers.
to arterialshadow did you max out the stats of the three characters you were going to use? and how long did it take you to beat final fantasy 7? for me it took 85 hours.
To wez22martin, just to let you know i beat the weapons and got the 3 master materia beat jenova beat sephiroths 3 forms and completed the game in a little over 80 hours. not trying to be rude or anything. as for my setup i also beat jenova in three attacks used kotr on bizzaro sephiroth then used kotor on sefier sephiroth then for final sephiroth used clouds omnislash limit break. my three characters were at level 99. a LOT of level grinding but it was worth it in the end.
yes 12 long years. can i get everyones opinion on something: what was your materia setup for jenova bizzaro and seifer sephiroth and do you have any tips on the final battles i can use?
To cloudsephiroth, regarding the last 3 battles of this game, they can be as simple as u decide to make it for yourself. The easiest way is to beat all the weapons first, Emerald will give u master magic, summon, and command (you get the earth harp, take it to a house in Kalm). These materia combined with 4Xcut, should give u all the firepower you need (assuming u have each characters ultimate weapon and are in the region of LV 75-85). Hope that helps mate
i beat emerald and ruby weapon already and i got tifa to her level 4 limit break. now i need to get red 13 to his level 4 limit break and get cids and yuffies stats to 255 and then beat the game. i waited 12 years to beat ff7 and it will happen. everyone wish me luck on the final battles.
yeah but the one thing i hate about the game is that you have to breed chocobos then when you beat ruby and emerald you get the 3 mastered materia (master summon master command and master magic) and another gold chocobo and you realize you spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars worth of gill. to me its a real long process to get into.
This is my favourite battle theme from FFVII. Back when I first played this sounded so epic the first time you fight JENOVA, and it never quit lol. I have this on my MP3 player too lol. :3 Some things never change...
La manera mas facil de vencer a RUBY WEAPON es entrar a la batalla con 2 de tu grupo muertos asi RUBY no te quitara a tus personajes y podras revivirlos con PHOENIX SUMMON conbinada con FINAL ATTACK y no olvides equiparte la materia mas poderosa KNIGHT OF THE ROUND conbinada con HP y MP ABSORB
the only strategy i know on how to beat ruby weapon is to have hades kotr mastered level 4 limit and your two characters in your party must be dead plus hp and mp absorb and life mastered.
I've also heard about a strategy involving the three party members acting BEFORE they were kicked out...One was casting Hades / KotR then the others where mimicking... Still tricky, cause it can remove any party members - especially the one you planned to stay.
But, I also managed to beat Ruby and Emerald the legit way - Phoenix = MP Absorb; Phoenix = Final Attack; Counter, some Hero Drinks and Hyper, then it was all about healing and Limit Breaks. (But, I needed the underwater materia :/)
@Retrogamer0 If you want a trick which is harder to get, but might make it eand quicker, is this:
Get W-Summon. Get Knights Of The Round (only works if you got Knights Of The Round in Master Summon Materia). Get many x-potions. Equip W-Summon with the materia that gives MP for damage
Use Knights Of The Round twice with W-Summon, use x-potion. Repeat. This will give you MP for each attack, so you can use Knights Od The Round all the time. Although, only one person can be alive to use this.
@EmzingsMrHotshot (sorry that it took so long for me to reply to you, I don't usually check my messages) Anyway, just so you know, at the time that I was fighting Ruby Weapon I had not gotten KotR or any of the master materias. I had wanted to fight him in a legit way w/o being cheap. It was working out okay and then he knocked out two of my characters out of the battle...So then I was stuck with Yuffie and at this point I just didn't care if I died so I just decided to throw a random item Cont.
@EmzingsMrHotshot That item just so happened to be the Dazers and it paralyzed him which stunned me b/c I didn't know that was his weakness. I so I exploited that for over an hour and I killed him^^
@EmzingsMrHotshot I still haven't beaten Emerald...I kinda don't want to bc that would mean that I don't have a reason to play the game anymore. Unless I wanted to max out my stats...
@Retrogamer0 Dazers alone will not suffice; he will rape you mercilessly unless you have Nights of the Round, W item, Mime (at least one) counter (four or more to be safe) and a lot of balls.
@adamgoldmansk8sss To be honest, I only used the w-item/dazers trick only because it was my last resort. He managed to knock out 2 of my characters out of the battle and I was stuck with Yuffie and she wasn't one of my hard hitters at all and so I had to use this trick for about an hour until he died. It sucked.
It's funny that everyone says that Ruby is harder than Emerald but I beat Ruby before I ever beat Emerald. (Actually, I've never beaten Emerald...)
I hated when you had to take a piss and with the dam time battle system and you came back and your party was dead because you forgot to pause it. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
FF7 is the best final fantasy they could of made because it was 1 of the first 3d game to go onto the ps1 and it has the best villan of all time the best storyline of all time and pretty much every1 knows and plays on this game i still play FF7

i beat it with cloud barret and vincent all about lvl 40 with absolutly no materia and it was easy ;)

I beat the game with a lv 42 cloud a lv 39 barret and a lv 38 tifa, it wasnt that hard.

I completed it at like lv 99 Cloud, 96 Vincent and 90 Cid... here's a training tip - when you enter north cratee in disk 3, don't worry! You can still get out of there! go down a few rooms in and you will find yourself in a place with a lotta water and what looks like roots from trees... there, you can gert like 16000 xp in a fight against 2 Magic pots - use elixir on them both and you're good to go! as well as 2400 ap from enemies named Movers.

to arterialshadow did you max out the stats of the three characters you were going to use? and how long did it take you to beat final fantasy 7? for me it took 85 hours.

To wez22martin, just to let you know i beat the weapons and got the 3 master materia beat jenova beat sephiroths 3 forms and completed the game in a little over 80 hours. not trying to be rude or anything. as for my setup i also beat jenova in three attacks used kotr on bizzaro sephiroth then used kotor on sefier sephiroth then for final sephiroth used clouds omnislash limit break. my three characters were at level 99. a LOT of level grinding but it was worth it in the end.

yes 12 long years. can i get everyones opinion on something: what was your materia setup for jenova bizzaro and seifer sephiroth and do you have any tips on the final battles i can use?

To cloudsephiroth, regarding the last 3 battles of this game, they can be as simple as u decide to make it for yourself. The easiest way is to beat all the weapons first, Emerald will give u master magic, summon, and command (you get the earth harp, take it to a house in Kalm). These materia combined with 4Xcut, should give u all the firepower you need (assuming u have each characters ultimate weapon and are in the region of LV 75-85). Hope that helps mate

i beat emerald and ruby weapon already and i got tifa to her level 4 limit break. now i need to get red 13 to his level 4 limit break and get cids and yuffies stats to 255 and then beat the game. i waited 12 years to beat ff7 and it will happen. everyone wish me luck on the final battles.

yeah but the one thing i hate about the game is that you have to breed chocobos then when you beat ruby and emerald you get the 3 mastered materia (master summon master command and master magic) and another gold chocobo and you realize you spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars worth of gill. to me its a real long process to get into.

This is my favourite battle theme from FFVII. Back when I first played this sounded so epic the first time you fight JENOVA, and it never quit lol. I have this on my MP3 player too lol. :3 Some things never change...

La manera mas facil de vencer a RUBY WEAPON es entrar a la batalla con 2 de tu grupo muertos asi RUBY no te quitara a tus personajes y podras revivirlos con PHOENIX SUMMON conbinada con FINAL ATTACK y no olvides equiparte la materia mas poderosa KNIGHT OF THE ROUND conbinada con HP y MP ABSORB

the only strategy i know on how to beat ruby weapon is to have hades kotr mastered level 4 limit and your two characters in your party must be dead plus hp and mp absorb and life mastered.

I've also heard about a strategy involving the three party members acting BEFORE they were kicked out...One was casting Hades / KotR then the others where mimicking... Still tricky, cause it can remove any party members - especially the one you planned to stay.
But, I also managed to beat Ruby and Emerald the legit way - Phoenix = MP Absorb; Phoenix = Final Attack; Counter, some Hero Drinks and Hyper, then it was all about healing and Limit Breaks. (But, I needed the underwater materia :/)

Here's a strategy against Ruby Weapon but it's cheap...
There's an item in your inventory called "Dazers" and it paralizes(can't spell) him. It allows you to get a few more hits in.
use the w-item trick and you're good to go! ^.^

@Retrogamer0 If you want a trick which is harder to get, but might make it eand quicker, is this:
Get W-Summon. Get Knights Of The Round (only works if you got Knights Of The Round in Master Summon Materia). Get many x-potions. Equip W-Summon with the materia that gives MP for damage
Use Knights Of The Round twice with W-Summon, use x-potion. Repeat. This will give you MP for each attack, so you can use Knights Od The Round all the time. Although, only one person can be alive to use this.

@EmzingsMrHotshot (sorry that it took so long for me to reply to you, I don't usually check my messages) Anyway, just so you know, at the time that I was fighting Ruby Weapon I had not gotten KotR or any of the master materias. I had wanted to fight him in a legit way w/o being cheap. It was working out okay and then he knocked out two of my characters out of the battle...So then I was stuck with Yuffie and at this point I just didn't care if I died so I just decided to throw a random item Cont.

@EmzingsMrHotshot That item just so happened to be the Dazers and it paralyzed him which stunned me b/c I didn't know that was his weakness. I so I exploited that for over an hour and I killed him^^

@Retrogamer0 Dazers alone will not suffice; he will rape you mercilessly unless you have Nights of the Round, W item, Mime (at least one) counter (four or more to be safe) and a lot of balls.

@adamgoldmansk8sss To be honest, I only used the w-item/dazers trick only because it was my last resort. He managed to knock out 2 of my characters out of the battle and I was stuck with Yuffie and she wasn't one of my hard hitters at all and so I had to use this trick for about an hour until he died. It sucked.
It's funny that everyone says that Ruby is harder than Emerald but I beat Ruby before I ever beat Emerald. (Actually, I've never beaten Emerald...)

FF7 is the best final fantasy they could of made because it was 1 of the first 3d game to go onto the ps1 and it has the best villan of all time the best storyline of all time and pretty much every1 knows and plays on this game i still play FF7
