I'm an ex ups driver. Not that I condone package throwing, but you also need to realize there are shelves in the package car. He's not just throwing them into the air. He is throwing them up onto the shelves meaning they are enduring like a whopping 1 or 2 foot drop.

I work in a factory and we always throw the packages into trucks unless they are labeled fragile. It would take forever to load a truck without throwing them. Everything is padded so nothing breaks.
I pack and ship out Toyota parts through UPS and we always have to make sure we pack the parts in appropriately sized boxes and have enough packing so that nothing gets damaged. Even if we pack the shit out of something and it gets damaged, we eat the cost because UPS doesn't take responsibility for people who handle the packages like this. Doing things the right way always takes longer, but there are less mistakes and mishaps involved.
What these geniuses don't show you is the other person in the back he's throwing the packages to. He's not just throwing them on the shelves. The shelves are on the walls of the truck, or package car as UPS calls it, the middle is a walkway for the driver to get from the drivers seat to the packages in the back without opening the roll door

I often order computer components, which are very fragile, and it pisses me off to see this kind of shit. Your doing your job to get paid, and your job is to deliver peoples packages that they paid for in one piece! They should mount cameras in the trucks, and when they see someone throwing the packages, they should instantly be fired!

To eBay and amazon sellers who are YouTubers, if you want happy customers don't go cheap on the packaging. Wrap it nicely in bubble wrap, paper shreds and thick cardboard fillers. These delivery guys (FedEx, USPS, & UPS) are in a hurry. They don't have time to stack it nicely like in the department stores. Time is money. I buy comic books and plastic model kits from eBay. I don't blame these delivery guys if my package comes damaged. I blame the eBay sellers who packed it cheaply and poorly.

It's not only about the dents on the box itself, if you know physics, you would know there would be some kind of force on the content itself when it either hit another package or the floor. I don't care about how much safety shit a box has, no one throws my boxes. Where i'm from USP even deliver packages in their original box, I received one of my laptops in it's original box, no scratch at all and if a package is damaged, just call the transport company. I wouldn't want my 1700 $ laptop thrown.
UNITED PARCEL SMASHERS don't even care if it's marked fragile. They trashed a PC I mailed double boxed. They denied my claim. I called Attorney General's office and filed fraud complaint as they took my package and charged me for $600 value and refused to honor the claim. I got a UPS check for $600 in 7 days. Push the right button, gets things done.
i can understand if somthing you receive is broken, but if you have a problem with the way the delivery man if handling you packages then deliver them yourself!
This is done by 99.9% of the drivers .. I use to be one of them... the other .1% are the asses that throw the packages in the morning while loading them
why complain? the manufacture pack item with ample padding so the boxes CAN be thrown, factory workers throw them, truck drivers throw them, and than the delivery drivers throw them, thats how it gets delivered. they're packages, not bombs.
@gant555 just an FYI you don't have to be a manufacture to ship items with UPS, there r thousands of regular people that package their own packages. and they take them to the UPS store to be shipped.

We are req. to use new boxes with ample cushion between the outside box and the product box inside. Boxes will be stacked and tighly packed while being transported. Dents in the outer box will occur, hence the outer box then cushion then cushioned product box. Our customers pay good money, the extra packaging shows we care.
thats ridiculous. Boxes get thrown. its just the way it is. they get thrown at UPS, USPS, and at FedEx. they get thrown from the companies that box them too. If they didnt get thrown at all, we could package a vase without any packing material and it would get to its destination fine. This is why we us packing material. he isnt abusing the packages, anyone who packs boxes or works for a delivery service knows that if something is packed correctly it will hold up to a lot more.

@mrt9001, As a Former U.P.S driver helper yes this doon all the time because the driver get treated like shit by overheads. its mostly the guys that havent been driving U.P.S that long doing this mess. I hate U.P.S cause they srewed my checks up horribly by making my hours appear short on my paycheck then i actually worked. I still have U.P.S uniform tho that they wont ever get back.
I once shipped my pants in public. I was in line at the bank, actually. I didn't wait until I got home; I just shipped right there. Thanks to online shopping, I can ship everywhere, anywhere I want.
I worked inside ups san diego for 5 years. I saw many a package get kicked hard. And the conveyor will crunch packages too. Sometimes though it is the bosses who should be faulted. They say work faster or work safer it's hard to do both. Ive heard many drivers getting chewed out for too long on the route.
If you pack items well, and smartly, rough handling will not damage the contents. Besides, people who are really serious about shipping, they use re-usable shipping containers, like the ones made by Anvil, etc. People have been shipping eggs for many decades and they figured out a long time ago how to ship them without breaking. It is all in how they are packaged. Stop blaming FedEx, UPS, USP{S, etc. for rough package handling...blame the shipper!

The highlight of my day as a freight driver was throwing in all the boxes when loading up or after a pickup, especially if you were an arsehole for the later. What is not shown here is all your valuable crap being tossed around at every corner and traffic light! Moral of the story; don't use a service that carries no responsibility for damaged freight and be nice to your parcel guy!
I work for Amazon, and it's not fun when the customers call and scream at me because their packages got destroyed, or mis-delivered, or flat out marked "delivered" but never even made it to the customer because someone got too damned tired/lazy/overworked/pick one to do their damned delivery job properly. The system only works as well as the weakest cog. I do my damned job, I don't need to catch the flack because you can't do yours.
I am sure he is pissed off because he is part time and made 15.00 an hour last year and is only making 7.50 this yer because the corporate snakes are lining their pockets with bonuses!

I've worked for UPS during the seasonal rush, and I only looked for this video because a customer mentioned it to me while I was making a drop off. I can say that this happens with some drivers on a regular basis. The guy I was partnered with would throw boxes labeled "FRAGILE" all the way to the cab from the back of the truck. He would also slam heavy boxes almost as hard as he could onto the floor. Were it me, I might have dropped the box from a distance of maybe 2 inches, not waist level!

What exactly is wrong here? His truck is full, he's doing his end of day pick ups. I work at UPS. This is absolutely nothing. Boxes get shredded on a regular basis by the conveyer belts alone. They get stepped on, thrown, kicked, dropped, leaked on by hazmats, sat on, spit on, punched, the list goes on and on. I picked up over 2,000 boxes today, most weighing 50 pounds or more. So ya'll quit your crying because nobody commenting here could do his job or mine.

If they didnt get thrown at all, we could package a vase without any packing material and it would get to its destination fine. This is why we us packing material. he isnt abusing the packages, anyone who packs boxes or works for a delivery service knows that if something is packed correctly it will hold up to a lot more.

@mrt9001, As a Former U.P.S driver helper yes this doon all the time because the driver get treated like shit by overheads. its mostly the guys that havent been driving U.P.S that long doing this mess. I hate U.P.S cause they srewed my checks up horribly by making my hours appear short on my paycheck then i actually worked. I still have U.P.S uniform tho that they wont ever get back.

I worked inside ups san diego for 5 years. I saw many a package get kicked hard. And the conveyor will crunch packages too. Sometimes though it is the bosses who should be faulted. They say work faster or work safer it's hard to do both. Ive heard many drivers getting chewed out for too long on the route.

If you pack items well, and smartly, rough handling will not damage the contents. Besides, people who are really serious about shipping, they use re-usable shipping containers, like the ones made by Anvil, etc. People have been shipping eggs for many decades and they figured out a long time ago how to ship them without breaking. It is all in how they are packaged. Stop blaming FedEx, UPS, USP{S, etc. for rough package handling...blame the shipper!

The highlight of my day as a freight driver was throwing in all the boxes when loading up or after a pickup, especially if you were an arsehole for the later. What is not shown here is all your valuable crap being tossed around at every corner and traffic light! I work for Amazon, and it's not fun when the customers call and scream at me because their packages got destroyed, or mis-delivered, or flat out marked "delivered" but never even made it to the customer because someone got too damned tired/lazy/overworked/pick one to do their damned delivery job properly. The system only works as well as the weakest cog. I do my damned job, I don't need to catch the flack because you can't do yours.

I only work my employees (all 7 of them) "part" time and am NOT afraid to fire them when they stand around whining to each other or stealing from me. Yeah, I have a high turnaround of employees because all but one (my manager) don't really want to work, just get wages.
I use cameras to keep them on the job and mostly honest.

I've worked for UPS during the seasonal rush, and I only looked for this video because a customer mentioned it to me while I was making a drop off. I can say that this happens with some drivers on a regular basis. The guy I was partnered with would throw boxes labeled "FRAGILE" all the way to the cab from the back of the truck. He would also slam heavy boxes almost as hard as he could onto the floor. Were it me, I might have dropped the box from a distance of maybe 2 inches, not waist level!

What exactly is wrong here? His truck is full, he's doing his end of day pick ups. I work at UPS. This is absolutely nothing. Boxes get shredded on a regular basis by the conveyer belts alone. They get stepped on, thrown, kicked, dropped, leaked on by hazmats, sat on, spit on, punched, the list goes on and on. I picked up over 2,000 boxes today, most weighing 50 pounds or more. So ya'll quit your crying because nobody commenting here could do his job or mine.
