@1991stratplus the "bridge" position bypasses the tone control completely for a super-bright tone. the middle position allows you to use the tone control as normal. the "neck" position is like having the tone control pre-set to 0 so you get a really muffled tone. at least i think that's the way it's wired.
@DIGITALH1TMAN I don't think he was the one that did. And if he did it might've affected the sound for better in his opinion, like when you take a pickup cover off a humbucker and it sounds more aggressive.
@DIGITALH1TMAN because most people take them off to play now because they hinder playing and don't let you palm mute at all which is part of pretty much any rock music
lol I love these videos! You're the dude that everyone wants to hear play but not let you totally punish their vintage guitars!!! Hey man but I'd let you jam my '64 Mustang because you can't beat it worse than me!
so the older esquires have one bridge pickup. some of them were fitted with 2 pickups. but on the one with a single pickup, why is there a pickup selecter?
the second song that you weren't sure of is called "Chameleon" which herbie hancock did but i dont think he's the original player of it. i played it as a big band jazz chart in high school. hope this helps. KEEP ON ROCKIN' PHIL!!!!
Philly and the Chameleon @ 4:58... in my weekly funk class we wear that song OUT. How many different ways can you play it and still be funky? Youd be shocked. Last Sunday a girl with a violin and a girl with a CELLO showed up... teacher made it all work... yeah, funky violin...
