listening to this song high made me realized what jay-z's music really was. He became a brand, like addidas, for music. It was mainstream and often materialistic, but it was celebratory. That plus the fact that he did it with skilled wordplay/flow and over vastly superior beats (at the time) made jay-z a legend in hip hop, and even music in general. I don't agree with his ego and some things he's been doing recently, but i can't help but respect him now.
