In my band, the second guitarist (me being the lead guitarist) sometime play with a cigar box guitar he made, and he used real metal guitar strings and added EMG 81/85 pickups. I don't know how or why he did that, but it actually sounds awesome :D

A pezio transducer will not pick up the sound coming off of the strings if they are not made of metal. (This also applies for if you install a soil coil or humbucker pickup). Thats why at the end it was electricifed at all, just the sound of the strings.

Metal strings only cost about 5 dollars, and if you want it electrified its a must. Plus putting the 3 foot long 2 by 1 through the guitar box is also a huge improvement that takes about 10 minutes work. Just make sure its flush with the lid.

great 'cheesy radio voice'! and it's 'pee-ay-zoe' not 'pie-zoe'. use real strings, not super glue, put the neck IN the body, not outside (!) tuners cost $9 for a set of SIX. this is a sad excuse for a guitar folks. do a LEETLE more research next time.

This is a sad excuse for a cigar box guitar. Nothing about this is right, all the way down to the string used and using loose nails as frets. While cigar box guitars are a simple instrument, there's no such thing as throwing the parts together and eyeballing where things go and hope it will work; it doesn't.

As for the frets, you can make little trenches in the neck, put a little bit of superglue into the trench, and then put the nails into the trench. How to make the trench is your job.

Okay, I tried to put it up to real scale, and I think we will not be able to use real guitar strings because of the length of the neck. Why don't you try using real guitar measurements? My electric guitar's neck is 1ft and 5 2/16 in long and 1 9/16 in wide, the head is, in rectangular terms, 6 9/16 in long and 3 in wide, and the body of my guitar, in rectangular terms, is about 13 in wide at the shortest and 9 in wide in the shortest as well.

You're better off going to backporchmojo com the dude sells custom made 3 string basic acoustic ones for $75, then you could just buy the piezo transducer and solder it up, it's INCREDIBLY easy.
