Seriously, do you believe in Zeus? No you don't. Why not? Well, no doubt you'll say that the idea of Zeus is stupid and there is no evidence for him. Well, exactly the same can be said for Jesus.
"showing..evidence".. ok go on then.. you haven't yet. I suspect you will not be able to without resorting to scriptural quotes which are not evidence.
Of course God exists. i know because i had a bunch of demons come to my house. They left after I asked Yeshua to send them away. yes, they even appeared to my family.
as for believing in the invisible, it would seem that you need more faith than an atheist... is he standing behind me, next to me...? did i just walk through him..? since we are supposed to be in his image, i think Jethro Tull got it right... He is Aqualung... All things to all men.. including those little girls... hey, believer..? i guess he missed the retched part......
well, EWJ, you should know that the theory has been proved so many hundreds of times, but just not renamed.. if it were a mathamatical expression, it could be a law... but, just so all those non believer can feel torment, we are probably going to keep it a theory, watching for anything that might prove it wrong....ha ha ha...
You dont need a basic understanding, you need FULL understanding. To continue blindly exploiting it without knowing how it fully works is being willingly ignorant.
I appreciate that you have taken the liberty to study this topic, although I worry about the extent.
As I said, you can't simply look at evolution by itself, you must be well versed in the entire scientific vocabulary to address it. This vocabulary is very specific, and your arguments would carry a lot more weight if you link outside sources from a scientific journal or textbook.
I would suggest an undergraduate study of general biology before you make arguments discrediting entire theories.
You know I thought your god had a thing about lying and liars. You're always dunning our ears with that line , so why do you continue with this nonsense about "it takes a lot of faith to be an atheist" It takes none, that's the point.
I'd also remind you that you too are an atheist, an atheist about allah, buddha, zues etc, etc, etc. How does that fit into your argument?
The tribe of Judah will reign "until Shiloh," but Israel's first king (Saul) was from the tribe of Benjamin (Acts 13:21), and most of the time after this prophecy there was no king at all.
Jeremiah 23:5 is useless. How could Jesus meet this requirement since his genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 show he descended from David through Joseph, who was not his natural father because of the Virgin Birth.
He has also chosen to be my follower. Prophecy is being fulfilled right now. Read the book of Daniel Chapter 7 and 11. That describes the talks in Russia.
Although the book of Daniel was supposedly written during the Babylonian Exile by an official of King Nebuchadnezzar, modern scholars date its writing to the second century BCE.
Parts of the book (2:4-7:28) were written in Aramaic AND the book contains numerous historical inaccuracies when dealing with 6th century BCE Babylonian history. Such mistakes would not have been made by an important official in the employ of King Nebuchadnezzar.
Wrong again. This was written due to a vision that Daniel had. It specifically says he had a vision. It means it hadn't happened yet for people who don't get definition right away.
You missed the point. It is not what the book says, its about the reliability.
Modern historians and bible scholars generally agree on the proper interpretation of the dreams in the book of Daniel. Daniels visions are not trustworthy, they are close to worthless.
Daniel 11:37- 'Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women" So the antichrist is gay and Jewish?
Your baseless speculation about prophecy in the book of Daniel fails.
Typical fundy. Denying things right in front of you. I hate to break it to you piggy, but you're DEAD WRONG AGAIN. I just explained what Daniel visioned. It's happening right now. Only a fool would remain in denial
First, you did not explain what exactly Daniel envisioned.
Second, you used a book from the Bible that has been proven unreliable and flawed. Also, Daniel makes Jesus look worse. In Matthew 24:15 Jesus calls Daniel a "prophet." It's funny that Jesus -- purportedly one-third of an omniscient deity -- should make such a mistake.
Third, any fool can take a small verse or phrase from a book and relate it to modern events.
I am not in denial, your facts are false from the wrong source. You fail.
Here we go again with the flawed bible junk that you fundies use. It looks like somebody don't keep up with current events. He predicted the problems between US and Russia. Do your research for once in your life. You fail. Willfull ignorance is not bliss and yes, you are in denial. You have problems with Christ, take it up with him directly, not his messengers.
No, you THINK he predicted the problems between US and Russia. Any fool can say "this guy predicted that."
Apparently, YOU have not done the research, people have been conspiring Daniel was talking about the rule of the Medes and the Persians, followed by the Greeks and the Roman Empire. All wrong, so is yours.
I do not have problems with Christ, in fact how could I, the guy never existed in the first place.
Addressing the first bit on atheists. a) i. atheism says nothing NOTHING about how we got here, it is irrelevant. ii. you seem to (wrongly) think that your guess as to how we got here would be better than simply admiting you don't know. b) despite previous corrections you still clearly have no knowledge of what a theory is. BTW I guess you class gravity as a 'Story' along with the atomic story, the story about cells and the story about quantum.
also you fail epically to convince everyone because you only read stuff out from books without even thinking about it. It takes people 5 secconds to realise it's a load of BS whereupon we try and correct you but by then you're already reading from your next book or 'essay'. If you want to do better a) think some stuff up for yourself for a change b) try and know some stuff about the stuff you talk about most, e.g. philosophy psychology and physics. At the moment you just look stupid and ignorant
The gospel of Mark claims that John the Baptist fulfilled the prophecy given in Malachi. But the Malachi prophecy says that God will send Elijah before "the great and dreadful day of the LORD" in which the world will be consumed by fire. Yet John the Baptist flatly denied that he was Elijah (Elias) in John 1:21 and the earth was not destroyed after John's appearance.
Did you know Luke 1:17 is referring to John the Baptist not Jesus (and it is Elias), and Luke 1:15 claiming John was filled with the Holy Spirit before he was even born?
I was about to ask the same thing... how does speaking of John the Baptist prove anything about jesus? Also, why did Gabriel decide to make Zaccharia mute just because he didn't believe him. That's somehow merciful?
BTW, nice job of Luke embellishing a story about a person that was born long before he wrote it. What exactly does this prove? Just shows a gift for writing fiction.
well put blood. Our friend emptyWITHJesus here seems unaware that people today claim John the Baptist was the true messiah all along.
The fact that Jesus was baptized is embarrassing to Christians. Why would the Son of God need to be washed of his sins? Not to mention, those who were baptized by John were his followers.
Oh yea, I'm sure this is why John the baptist said these things: "Then they said to him, Who are you...He said: I am The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the LORD, as the prophet Isaiah said.
Oh NO!!! A prophecy!
"..John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know. It is He who, coming after me, is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.
John 1:29-34 --John baptizes Jesus and declares him to be "the Son of God." But later, as he is about to be beheaded, he is no longer sure what to think about Jesus. So he sends his own disciples to ask, "Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?" (Mt.11:3) Well, if he isn't sure after seeing and hearing the events at Jesus' baptism, then how can anyone else be?
Plus, that chapter mentions Bethabara, no such site is known in history.
Shows the human heart of unbelief. why then did Paul, who supposedly never saw Jesus, do such mighty things for God all the while enduring great persecution. what was his motive?
Paul, that guy was a freak and a murderer. Most of the bible was written from his letters about silly visions.
Besides, IF Paul did live long enough to see the real Jesus, he would have been ancient with age by the time he wrote those books. Life expectancy back then was around 45 years. Do the math, how would Paul to live long enough to write books while enduring persecution. He could not have.
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."
This is why I usually DON'T respond th the atheist when they mention scripture. You're ignorant of it!
One problem with your point on Jesus. If Jesus is the sinless Son of God, then shouldn't Jesus be baptizing John. Baptism is to forgive sins and be a sign of repentance. If so, then why would Jesus need to be baptized?
The fact that Jesus was baptized is embarrassing to Christians. In those days, John baptized people who were his followers. The Mandeans will vouch for this.
Doesnt matter what kind, Jesus was baptized -thats the bottom line. Why would the Son of God need to be washed of his sins or become a follower of a rival. John the Baptist had his own group of followers, the Mandaeans, and all he baptized were all his followers.
I said "beyond a reasonable doubt" not undeniable proof.
You don't want to believe. Is making these videos worth my time? Maybe for someone else, not for you and other hard core skeptics. You simply choose NOT to believe. I will get to those videos some day.
Maybe for you as with most atheists, its a moral issue. You don't want to be accountable to God. I can understand this, but it doesn't mean we should deny our Creator.
I said previously that if you can prove it, as you said, I would praise god on camera. Given that you can't, I'm not worried about my knees getting dirty.
You said your videos are geared towards atheists. I'm your target audience. Let's see it or are you just gonna throw in the towel?
It's certainly not a moral issue or being "accountable to god". There is no god. But if you're insinuating that I have no morals or just "sin"... remember, you know NOTHING about me.
So, as you like to tell others not make assumptions about you, you again think that it's within your right to do so of others... to give your misinformed opinion. Hey, what did jesus call people like you? Oh yeah, a hypocrite. According to him you're burning in hell. You're not supposed to pass judgement, remember? You just said it was YOUR diagnosis. Have fun burning.
See, more proof you're not a Xian. You don't follow jesus' teachings.
And now I've been upgraded from "stubborn mule of an atheist" to satan! Wow, I suppose I would feel honored if that comment came from someone who had the least amount of integrity and rational thinking skills.
Come on, EWJ... you're not scared, are you? You bragged about how you had this great evidence. Let's see it. Or is it just that every time you think you've got something good you find out how weak it is when it's easily refuted? Trying to look up some "new" info?
Your refuting my evidence is pathetic at best. I offer much more evidence for a Creator than your "We just got her because" theory! I can present ANYTHING to you and you will refute it and actually think you're right. You think you're the only one who has "all the answers" that I've come across? My patience for you is lacking but I will never give up. My time is limited but I DO get back to people. Just relax and dream up more fantasies about how smart you are!
Oh really? Um, where is that evidence you just said you have? You haven't shown it yet.
I, and many others, will refute your weak arguments because they have no basis in fact or reputable sources. You don't check your sources and readily claim things to be "fact" when they aren't. If you did then you wouldn't be so easily refuted.
I don't claim to have all the answers - quite the opposite. You, however, do assert that claim.
"Bethlehem Ephratah" in Micah 5:2 refers not to a town, but to a clan: the clan of Bethlehem, who was the son of Calebs second wife, Ephrathah (1 Chronicles 2:18, 2:50-52 & 4:4).
Micah 5:2 does not refer to the Messiah, but rather to a military leader, as can be seen from Micah 5:6. This leader is supposed to defeat the Assyrians, which, of course, Jesus never did. It should also be noted that Matthew altered the text of Micah 5:2 by saying: "And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah" rather than "Bethlehem Ephratah" as is said in Micah 5:2. He did this, intentionally no doubt, to make this verse appear to refer to the town of Bethlehem rather than the family clan.

I would like to know, honestly, how much you have studied the theory of evolution.
I ask this because it appears that your understanding of even basic scientific vocabulary is lacking.
If you do not understand the role of theories in science, how can you even begin to approach them?
